In many ways I still feel like a newbie.
Everytime I scroll through Esato I seem to learn something new.

Just upgraded from a nokia 2100 to a k700i and am loving it. Can't wait for some generic firmware though, this vodafone crap is annoying.

newbie here! nice site!

Hi welcome to esato. enjoy your stay.

Posted by perfect_dark
I'm also quite new here, i found esato via google, when i was searching for help, because my car-100 wasn't working. i already found a lot of useful hints for the usage of my T630 and i'm feeling really comfortable in here, although the english writing style of some members isn't that easy to read (is mine? )

@p_d
Sorry, what did you say?
Just kidding.
There is people in here that hardly understand English. They tend to stick to the regional forums but they are still active members.
Your English is perfectly good in here.
Welcome mate.

Hi,
I'm new to Esato (too!).
I have NOT a SE mobile yet, which is why I registered.
I just can't make up my mind between P900 and K700i.
The thing is, I'm trying to merge my old PDA and old (Nokia) mobile into something more practical yet as light and small as possible.
I just not sure how well these will sync with MS Outlook.
Any light there?
Cheers!

Posted by abotu
Tranquil,
Hope you're ready for an odd question, but how easy is to carry your P800 around?

Posted by Dragonfly_TP
as easy as it is to swim with bricks in your pockets.

Why is my number of loggings reducing??? Yesterday I had 43 posts, now only 39???

Hi Alex. I hope you like us.

Posted by Dragonfly_TP
after how many poststs are you not considered a newbie anymore? or are you forever a newbie if your posts (I can't pronounce it even) hmm where was I? never mind...

Posted by methylated_spirit
That was discussed in another thread recently.

Posted by scotsboyuk
I believe the official consensus is that once one has reached the necessary amount of posts to make one's avatar fully solid, one is considered a 'regular member' or a fully fledged Esatonian. The definition of 'veteran' is somewhat more difficult to pin down, with some regarding the number of posts one has made as denoting one as a veteran, whilst others put more emphasis on the length of time one has been a member.

Ive lurked around this forum for awhile now but I'm still a n00B!

Posted by methylated_spirit
I suppose a "veteran" could be thought of as how well they are known around the forum?

Posted by scotsboyuk
@methylated_spirit

That is one way of looking at it, but I don't think that there has ever been a definitive definition of what constitutes a 'veteran'. As you know there has been a bit of discussion on this issue lately, indeed there has been a bit of discussion on it for a while now, but different members seem to have different opinions on the subject. I usually consider the length of time someone has been a member of Esato to be an indication of 'veteran' status, although I suppose post count does have some bearing too; someone who has been a member for an age, but not participated much isn't really a veteran I suppose.

Hi! 'nother newb here...Just thought I'd poke my head in and say hi!

I've had my T616 for almost a year now, and have had no problems with it (battery life is awesome, few dropped calls, it's only locked up on me once, and is otherwise fast, responsive, and functional). Oddly enough, the fw revision is r1b027. Stumbled across the wonderful Esato forums looking for upgrade info, but I'm now not so convinced I want to upgrade...seems lots of people have battery and stability issues with their phones..?

Also, if any of you camphone jockeys get bored, check out http://www.optera.net/atari/ -- you can submit stuff straight from the phone, anywhere in the world!

Cheers!
-Matt.

Another newbie here from Australia..

Back in 1997 my first ever mobile was an Ericcson GA 628 lol so you could say that Ericsoon 'broke me in'. Then I strayed & went to Nokia for a few years, Siemens for a few years, back to Nokia, back to Siemens M55 & while looking to get Siemens M65 I saw the Sony Ericsson K700i at a store & fell for her. I knew I had to have her.

So in the end I'm back where I started with an (Sony) Ericsson. It's been a while since I had the GA628 & I didn't recognise not one standard feature from that phone to the k700. But I love this phone & I know this phone will be with me for at least a year or more. Running R2L001 & no bugs.

Very nice & informative forum, I only wish the salespeople at S.E. & all the Telco companies read forums like this to know whats going on. I've learnt more about S.E. phones from this forum more than a S.E. tech support person could ever tell me.

Hi all from Sydney, Australia. I was always a Nokia user but after getting a SE T610 i cant go back. Sadly i lost that phone a while back and im currently waiting on my K700i... cant wait!

Im reading all the FAQ's and newbie guides for the site now so i will try not to ask too many stupid questions when my phone arrives

cheers,
Matt

Count me in too.

Long time lurker who has skimmed a lot of useful info from these forums and even tried to spread the word !

Also a long time mobile user & typical gadget/pc/gaming freak.

Used Nokia's (oh hell banned on first post !) for years and then found SE & the T610 which evolved into T630 and K700i. Usually upgrade every 6 - 12 months for my sins.

Thought that I had finally abused Esato's knowledge base enough that I owed you a click on the "Register" button. So I then found this thread and thought I'd get rid of the first post blue's.

Don't expect too many posts, but when I do, at least I will have thought it through first.

So it's a retrospective thanks for all the advice/info from Esato.

Hi All,

I've been reading the site for ages and having just bought two K700i's (one Voda other O2) I'm posting around the very usefull (or Not) SE Online Software Update Topics!

Danny

@dpayea

Why did you buy two?

Posted by wazzup
Oh i'll report myself 2, since i havent done that yet

Found this site surfing looking for ways to explode my own head and shuffle off this mortal coil, on the brink of despair. I was unloved and all alone. Then I came across Esato, and my life changed for ever. I ran to the nearest shop and brought a nice shiny k700i and now use this as a weapon to fight the heathen Nokia users. I kneel in the church of SonyE and pray to the God of right star, left left star, left star.

At last on this site I have found an army, born of the same spunk as I am, ready to fight for everything SE, and down with all other phones, may their owners die horrible and scary deaths, (and run out of battery life/signal so they can't call 999 to save them from said horrible and scary deaths).

I could go through my pitiful life story in more detail, but I am in discussion with Mel Gibson to direct the film

So Saludos everyone, and keep up the good work. I am off to beat myself with a large birch branch

How do.

Congrats on the site to the Founder/Admin very impressive information and set up!

I'm due to recieve my K700i in the next day or so after spending about three days looking round and reading reviews, it is only until after I've ordered the phone I found this site.

I'm looking forward to owning it, however...

I am very concerned I've let myself in for frustrating time understanding and setting up this firmware upgrade I've been reading about?!?!?! I've found all the FAQ's and once I've got the phone I'll find out what version its on and then do the necessary. Just hope its straight forward.

I have bought the phone on Pay as you Go from Orange for £179.00 which I'm really pleased about

So just to say hello to you all and I'm more than positive I'll find the site very useful!

Jim

Hi,

another newbie signing up ...

Posted by Fink_Ployd
Hey there! it's my first post on Esato. Because of this forum I got really hooked on SE research. Now I'm waiting for my 910 to substitute my beaten up T68i... quite a change.

Posted by scotsboyuk
@Fink_Ployd

I bet your T68i has served you well over the years, marvellous mobile that.

Posted by crazyxboxman
Hi all.

Got K700i a couple of months ago after having Nokia all my life.

Its the best phone I've ever had and would be even better wthout all the bugs.

Posted by trekker308
.... and another newbie on the block!

On Monday I'll be adding a new K700i to my collection of 2 610s, my favourite T39m, which still pulls signals in where others fail and which is in daily use, and a T28!

See you around ....
