I know that a lot of you are probably aware of this.
For those who are not..
On T610 in camera mode:
-> Pressing joystick up/down adjust shutter speed (not brightness). You get a brighter image but you have to hold the camera more still.
-> Pressing joystick left/right seems to adjust color saturation
-> Pressing 1 cycles Large/Small
-> Pressing 2 cycles Day/Night
-> Pressing 3 cycles Effects
-> Pressing 4 cycles Timer

Actually I didn't know the 1,2,3,4 key presses so thanks for that.
Maybe this should be in the tips and tricks section too!

@ Wrath - hey man, that is really a cool trick. Did they include that in the manual? Really nice info. All i know is the holding '#' for screensaver, holding 'c' (clear) for silent and the three hidden smileys. Really nice trick about the cam.

How to get that 1,2,3,4 press works ?? I can't get it work though........can u tell us how ??

I should have probably mentioned that this is tested on R1L firmware. So it might not be available in the original R1A. Can someone with R1A try this and see if it works? If that's the case then ... well just another reason to get the firmware updated.

caff, 1 and 3 are nto too obvious when you push them but 2 and 4 are since 2 displays a moon and 4 displays the self timer clock.

I guess this trick won't work on R1A !

Hey, didnt know this!
Works perfect with R1L!
Thanks alot!

Nope, doesn't work on R1A, time to upgrade

On R1A081 - just the thing with the joystick works. Keys 1-4 do not work. Can't wait for R1L!

It appears that 1-4 shortcuts are introduced in 1RL. Well, all the more reason to update

any other updates or bugs discovered? guess i ought to upgrade it tomorrow or next week.

I found it on Friday (19.07) morning but I had too many hw's and lessons to do so I didn't have time to post it... wrath found it 2 days earlier than me...

About the joystick left/right (saturation) and up/down (shutter) thingy, once you've played around with it, how do you set it back to the default level?
Posted by wrath000
I think it goes to default after you take a picture, and if you exit-come back

Dont get too excited, even with the firmware upgrade and the fancy button/joystick tricks the T610 still takes crappy photos if there isnt adequate enough lighting conditions (and I mean adequate)!!
am in an 3 day Autocad training course today - so bored....
ah well!

Please help me know my firmware...i have t610!
Posted by masseur
take a look at the Answers to the most common questions on Esato Forums (FAQ style) for how to find what firmware version you have and what is the latest

The 1,2,3, etc. shortcuts work on my T616 w/R1B firmware, but the joystick (shutter/saturation adjustments) don't seem to (not perceivably, anyway).
Cheers!

Weird, works on every fones i tested. What about the other tricks?
Posted by Asterix
@croatia, it works ok, nothing extraordinary but useful. Helps when you're taking photos at close range and it's really innefective at distance. I have tested it widely now and the perfect range is 40 cms to 1 mt.

i think the t6xx series could do with a flash for nightshots.
did u use night mode with flash on that second photo?
Posted by kooki
it does not work for the older t mobile branded ones
