Im a bit new to this WAP/GPRS stuff, so gotta few questions if anyone can help please!
Been searching the archives and still a bit confused about what will work out cheaper, GPRS or WAP. Currently my service provider charges 10p/min for WAP and 0.75p/Kb for GPRS. With GPRS do u only pay for the downloads, not the uploads??
Also need some help configuring my t610 to WAP as that damn manual is very confusing!!

You pay upload and download. GPRS rules, WAP sucks (believe me!). For your WAP settings, use the Configurator at www.sonyericsson.com ;-)

Not entirely true,wap csd is good for dl large files like themes and ani's which will work out cheaper in the long run,depending on your netwoqk charges of course! :-)

Yeah, but overall GPRS is the best. Remember, you can't just swap from WAP to GPRS or vice versa just because you want to download larger files...

hmm everybody talking about wap and GRPS. how about HSCD? i use to be on orange (now base) and used HSCD and i was always faster then the ordenary wap users, but i think HSCD is still a good thing if your not on the net long and for small things. but not all the networks support HSCD altough updating a network to HSCD is easyely done and doesn't cost much at all.

I'm on Vodafone200 and the GPRS charge is £2.50 per MB - any tarifflower with Voda is the £7.50 you have. In the long run, it might be better to up your tariff (and get a better phone as an upgrade at the same time!).
Using a dial-up at the 9,600 rate - how long would it cost to download 1 MB, and how much would this call cost? More or less than £7.50? Do the math and you'll have your answer.
