Traveling to France from the US - can I get GPRS ?

I have AT&T GSM in the US. Does anyone know:

1) If I will be able to roam on a GPRS network in France (Orange, SFR) using my AT&T SIM card?

2) What the easiest way to get GPRS coverage via a local SIM card? Is it still the case that there is no GPRS via prepaid (on Orange's Mobicarte or SFR's La Carte?)? Are there any other options?

I frequently GPRS roam onto SFR in France from Vodafone in the UK. May be you can find a list of where you can GPRS roam on your service providers web site. The GPRS roaming is a different agreement from the standard roaming though. It is still fairly early for the GPRS roaming agreements.

As a Vodafone user, I can only GPRS roam onto the Voicestream network in the US.
