hi,everybody. I live in Hong Kong and I bought a T68m in November. The software is R1B but Hong Kong Ericcon CS refused to upgrade my phone because it is T68m, they just upgrade T68mc version. And I have a friend living in UK and I decide to mail my phone to her to upgrade in UK. But I wonder if UK Ericsson will upgrade for me or not because my T68 is indonesia warranty. Is there any global warranty in UK?? Anybody can help me?? Thanks a lot.

Posted by papajames
what is the difference between the t68m and the t68mc?

Posted by arroyootje
@papajames: T68mc is the Chinese version of T68m

@kitxkit: It really depends on the Service Centre, some of them ask for your receipt, others just update it...
You could probably send it somewhere closer, if you have any contacts...

You have to tell your friend who is in UK to ask about that.E-mail your friend and wait for the answer. You have to do to be sure.

Those service people shouldn't refuse you. I suggest talking to em again, or bringing your lawyer along with you the next time you go.

Or the cops, yeah. The cops.

The warranty is international, but a good idea is to enclose the warrantypapers when you send the phone to your friend. But it should not be any problem...

I suppose you wait for the MMS sw going to release, if it will exist in the future anyway. if the new software come out from ericsson them try to update your phone.

Cops? That would be a VERY funny sight! A guy walking into the Service Centre with two cops and his lawyer, demanding the new software update!
Get real!!!

Yeah, it's the policy of Hong Kong Ericsson CS which doesn't upgrade any T68 version except T68mc. FxxKing policy.
Haha, if I had so much power and money to bring the cops and lawyer along with me, it's better to buy T68i. Don't need to do so many things to demand for the new software. Hahahaha

I'd bring along my lawyer and a couple of cops if possible.

Good to have lawyer and cops as friends.

Don't forget you need to take 1 "Good cop" and 1 "Bad cop"! This always worked in Cracker and other police dramas! ;o)

I thought ericsson had a global warranty? They should at least upgrade the firmware to the latest T68mc version. One of the reasons i have nokia, bought the damn buggy 7110 in Ireland, and Singapore SP refused to upgrade it unless i pay. No globalwarrant

Posted by JasonDeFaoite
Sorry, i meant they should upgrade it to the latest firmware for the t68m, so that way they are not converting the phone from m to mc, just upgrading it

I know, my 'global warranty' doesn't count in Azerbaijan!! I told them it's worldwide, but obviously this is not part of the 'world'

To JasonDeFaoite:
Hong Kong Ericsson CS is a shxt!!! Even I'm willing to pay, they won't upgrade for me and they also said that they don't have the firmware of T68m. Instead, they only have T68mc firmware. So they can't help me. But somebody in HK said that if flash T68m with T68mc firmware, the phone would hang and out of work. So an interesting question raised here.

" Can T68m covert to T68mc or T68mc to T68 after upgrading the firmware???"

Just forget the cops and lawyer.......buy a womens stocking to cover your face and steel the damn computer and update it yourself!!!

Remember this!!! This is the best advise you'll ever get:):):):)

Ericsson T68m enjoys global warranty. The following is quoted from the "Service and Support" leaflet accompanies in the T68m package:

"You will have access to a number of exclusive advantages such as: * An extensive global network of Ericsson service partners"

"In the unlikely event your product needs service, please return it to the dealer from whom it was purchased or one of our service partners"

You see, any service partners in the world in their extensive global network =) Good luck!

Theoretically that's true, but in practice believe me it's not...
You come to Azerbaijan, we're the third most corrupt country in the world, if you want something here, you bribe them....
Global warranty is a joke here...

Posted by kevin81
yeah, I know what you mean.

But then that's country-specific. Not really SonyEricsson's problem.. but aren't there any decent ppl working in Azerbadjan's SE CS?

Posted by kitxkit
Ha, Hong Kong is not a corrupt country but HK Ericsson can still refuse upgrading for my T68m and don't give any Global Warranty. They can use T68m and T68mc is different product and T68m is not available in HK market as an excuse. What a Fxxk. Now I know why Ericsson divide T68 into m and mc, why T68i into i and ie. It's not just different language but also an excuse for HK Ericsson not to upgrade my T68 "m".

so..they will flash it no matter where you got it from..as I think...

Hi Guys!

I am new here and i'm a new owner of a T68mc. Being a Nokia user before, I am really having a hard time adjusting. One thing that would have helped me in an Ericsson phone is the T9 menu but my T68mc doesn't have it. Is conversion from T68mc to T68m possible? Can this be done by simply changing the SW of the phone?

Thanks.

I think you have T9 fuction in you phone. It is matter of turning it on.

Goto "Settings", Select "Language", Then Select "Input". Tick all values

Cheers

all8:

Tried that already but it doesn't work. I've read somewhere that T68mc doesn't have T9.

Hi, I just came into this site.

Okay, as far as I know, and I can confirmed it T68mc does not have T9.
I am currently using a T68mc. In our SC we can convert from T68mc
to T68m. In the future if you want to upgrade the MMS software, T68mc will not be able to accept upgrading. You have to convert back to T68 and then can only accept MMS software
