Has anyone managed to access Hotmail through Msnmobile on their T610?
I can get through to Msnmobile no problem, but when I click on 'Hotmail' I taken to another screen telling me to click on the button below because my browser has scripting disabled?? After clicking on continue I get the error message 'The page is too large to send back'.
I used to have no problems accessing Hotmail through my old T68 using the same method...
Posted by SCORPIONKING1982
i cant even get on the msn page lol.
i get the old 'somethin is wrong with the bla bla bla' message. had it with my t68i but that works now. give about a year and it might work lol
Posted by phil.n
um....try clearing the cache?
Bit strange if you were ok with your t68i.
Posted by Jammydodger
Clearing cache doesn't make any difference?!!
This is really frustrating as it was a really useful way of accessing Hotmail on my T68!
Is anyone else having similar problems with their T610?
Posted by sam12
same here.
Posted by phil.n
The reason i said to clear the cache was that it fixed my problem with hotmail.
What network are you on?
Posted by Jammydodger
I'm with Vodafone... would the network provider really make a difference?
Posted by Nas789
Exact same prob here..although its on my P800!
Tried clearin the cache and nothin doin'!
Ne other ideas people??!
Posted by phil.n
It could make a difference - They didn't just switch on the service and allow everone to use it, for a long time O2 customers could not use it until they finally sorted it out between them and hotmail.
I am just trying to think of all the possibilities.
I dont think this is purely a t610 thing because otherwise there would be lots of other people complaining that they cannot access it.
I also assume you have gotten past all the errors with the preinstalled vodafone GPRS settings?

I haven't had any problems with the preinstalled Vodafone GPRS settings, only when trying to access hotmail have I experienced this problem...
I did try to download the GPRS settings from the Vodafone website so that I could change my 'Homepage' when I first got the phone. But this didn't work and lost all GPRS access, even through the original 'Live' settings. In the end I had to do a 'Master Reset' to get it working again!??
Posted by phil.n
Yeah i am not too sure of the details but I know that at some point they were giving out the wrong GPRS settings.
I'm afraid I cannot think of anything else you could try.
Sorry
Posted by Jammydodger
Well thanks anyway Phil!
Can anyone else confirm if this is just a problem with the T610 and Hotmail? I know some people seem to be having problems with the P800...
Anyone?
Posted by Jammydodger
Can anyone else confirm this problem with the T610??

just moved from a t68i to the t610 and i can also no longer access hotmail via wap.
says it s cos the browser has scripting disabled not sure if this is at the networks request or just a quirk of the phone
Posted by 2manydjs
I can get to mobile.msn.com when I choose hotmail, I have to choose "continue" after that I get a network error.
Posted by phil.n
Which network are you on? It appears that hotmail have to agree access with providers - you do not automatically get access.
If you are on a valid network then try clearing your cache and have another go.
Regards,
Phil.

Same problem @ my T300... I think it used to work because Hotmail changed a lot the last months.

Just thought I'd add a note that I have the same trouble. Unbranded vodafone T610, brand new, error message trying to get into hotmail. It used to work with my t68...
Anyone resolved this yet?

I'm on orange & get same thing - it's re-directing us all to a web page = http://login.passport.com - (click add bookmark on the page & u'll see the address) which then redirects to a web page http://login.passport.net/uilogin.srf.
Wap gateways won't allow that - T610 has an html browser - but it is very strict & if it doesn't fit the screensize, the page won't load or the page is being blocked by the wap gateway due to the APN in use.
I'm waiting for my contract sim to re-activate - then I will configure P800 GPRS internet settings on my phone to see if we can surf for real - probably not though.
Posted by tristanm81
... so is it possible to put the direct hotmail wap address into the t610 and get it working?
TNM
Posted by wapchimp
The hotmail site detects an html browser on the t610 (like esato does) but it cant handle the page or wap gateway wont allow it to load. Like i said in post previous
Posted by tristanm81
so your saying there is no way to get into hotmail on a t610...
Posted by wapchimp
Not unless hotmail remove browser detection from their wap site

I have no problem with hotmail! Im on cingular. But i now access my hotmail via the email client in the t616. Check out hotmail popper. Turns hotmail into a pop account.
Posted by wapchimp
We are all talking about http://mobile.msn.com ??? Cos it don't work now.
Where do you get hotmail popper to??? I can't be arsed to search on google - cheers

http://www.boolean.ca/hotpop/
No that Im at a computer i can explain hotmail popper a little better.
First off, this is not a good way to check email if you: are on 56k, don't know about port forwarding (for those with routers), static or dynamic ip's.
This method requires your computer to be on and connected to the net. Also you must have a static IP or dynamic dns running on your comp. (see http://www.dyndns.org for all you dynamic ip users out there) Now download and install the program. Then you simply need to fill out your hotmail info. By default the ip is set to 127.0.0.1. This will need to be changed in order to check via cell phone if you have a router.
For users behind routers:
If you are behind a router you need to put the ip addy your router assigns you (i.e. 192.168.0.1) and then forward ports 110 and 25 to your Computers IP.
For users with a hub or direct connection to the net:
Leave the ip at 127.0.0.1! (yes it is that easy)
So now that is set up. Time to configure your phones email client.
Setting up everything is easy
Connect Using: GRPS or what ever you have
Protocol: POP3
Incoming Server: Those of you NOT behind a router or that have a DYNDNS account use your IP address or DYNDNS name (if applies). Those behind a router need to find the routers IP and use that.
Incoming Port: 110
Outgoing Server: same as incoming Server
Outgoing Port: 25
For those with T610/6's Mailbox=email addy /Password=password for hotmail/ email address=email addy again
BTW:
This allows you to store emails on your phone for later checking without using wap connection.
Note: it does use up memory, like a TM.
I recomend for those users who save emails in other folders to leave the settings on the popper to only check the inbox. otherwise you will be downloading every email ever saved.

mobile.msn.com (wml/wap) works fine in my T39m
mobile.msn.com/pocketpc (???) seems to work like and html, dunno.

Ok, here is what i think. I have experienced this problem with my t610 as well but it didnt happen in my siemens m55. I was using the same card with same setting and of course same operator. Questions, why? My only answer was my t610 supports xHTML while my siemens doesnt, so if im using siemens to access hotmail it will works since it tried to access pure wap site with minimum contents but when im using t610, it will errors since it will access the xHtTML page where the contents sometimesare quiet big...

Has anyone asked Microsoft if they can provide a work around?
I have a T610 w/ TMobile and keep getting the scripting error
Posted by jpxdude
I just tried msn mobile, and I get the same scripting error as everyone else on the T610
Posted by randomtask77
I just tried accessing hotmail through mobile.msn.com and it worked. Does it matter if you're using GRPS or not, because I didn't?
Posted by jpxdude
how did you get it working? I think the majority of people here are using GPRS including myself, what are you using?

I have 2 phones and four sim cards for all networks.my motorola T260 works well for msn mobile on all networks. But R520m doesnt. Its not network problem but software problem of ericssons. If you want to reach your hotmail account go to hotmailviewer. Go to: 2on.com and find hotmail and register with your hotmail username and passw. Check your inbox to read unread mails(not others) and reply.

Correct it seems it's not a network but to a problem with msnmobile's browser detection and the T610. It's not however a software problem with Ericsson phones, as I've said before msnmobile worked fine with my old T68...

that obviously doesnt help, does it?

Write to them again ask ask them to remove their browser aware pages or to give a dedicated wml only site. that will save all these errors. Or of course they could just at the T610 http user string?

I am on BPL Mobile network, Mumbai. I get error - CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER. Strangely my friend who uses Orange has same problem on his T68i. I asked customer care and was told that my phone has problem. But I am SURE its not the phone.

I just completed MSN customer satisfaction survey. I massively complained about problems which I am having while using T610 to connect to hotmail. Hopefully it works.

well what i think is that MSN has signed up with (particular networks) so MSN can be accessed only on those networks. I m saying so bcuz i m from India and in India msn is in agreement with Hutch(Network Provider) and i m on some different Network provider(Airtel) that has no agreement with MSN so i can't access MSN i m getting the same problem "continue" then errror.
well if u wan't to find out go to MSN using Internet Explorer and select ur country bottom right side.then click GPRS it will show u the Network that it supports
one more thing u need to contact ur SP for MSN

Type this into ur WAP browser..
Seems to get me into Hotmail via MSN Mobile..
Apparently this service is only supposed to be for Extra Storage Subscribers.. or so the message I got.. but this seems to go past that fine!

I said this in here a lot of times:hotmail deals with certain network while others remain outside. Thats why some of u can acces it,while others cant. The american wapusers usually can. I suggest the one i use www.yourwap.com ;-)
