Hiyas,

Right! Need some advice from fellow Orange users who have signed up for the 3 months free GPRS email promotion..

Just spoke to a very helpful guy on 156, who has set it up for me.

What he said was:

He would have to disconnect my GPRS 15MB bundle, as the promotional 30MB email bundle takes over this.

He said I could use this 30MB data per month, for internet use and not just POP3 email.. He said they don't promote it for this use, but it's a by-product of the offer, as they cant tell what data has come from where, as it's all through the same APN (Orange GPRS).

I can still have my Access pack for WAP usage.

When the 3 month period is over the system will automaticaly put me on the basic 'pay as you use' GPRS setup, which I can have changed back to my old plan.

Has what this guy said been correct, or is it in any way bullshit? ^_^.

Sounds like a good offer to me though!

That is right-its for all gprs access-its not promoted to domestic customers-business only-but u can have it

Good news!

Orangeman, I had the plan changed today about an hour ago, today is also my bill date.. He said it should have been changed in time before my bill is printed.. Hope so 'cos don't want to be charged another month for 15MB!

What ya think?

So whats the story with this 30Mb deal my 3months of access pack are up soon so whats the deal with this

Posted by Indianbwoy
Some adviser on 156 told me the 3 months free allowance was 10MB a month?!
Where did u lot hear 30MB? Unless this is some other promo for business customers?

I also saw my 2 wks bill, and its only stuff accessed thru the WAP account (Built-In Browser) and not the Internet account (Eg. Opera/IMs).

I had 8-9MB on WAP for free and 2MB on GPRS that I had 2pay for.

Edit.

Just read the posts again, seems the 30MB is for Email?

There are 2promos-this1 and the open access/pack which gives wap only csd os gprs

Yep it's meant for pop3 email only via GPRS, but can be used for GPRS internet as well.. They dont advertise this fact though! 30MB/month is the fair use policy with it. Seems fair to me ^_~ . ~Eva

Can u cancel it after the FREE 3 months,i mean, whats the catch? 12 months subscription? :-)

Posted by Eva-m00
@boyi - theres no catch ^_^ . after the 3 months have ended they move you to the basic GPRS bundle. I made sure I found out there wasnt a catch! Good luck finding a rep who even knows what it is though, best off calling 156. ~Eva

THANKYOU, everyone, i have had a very confusing time this week as Orange 156 told me ALL GPRS web/wap internet use use was free up to 10mg a month for three months, so i started viewing web/wap pages for free (i am not a GPRS bundle subscriber) only to have problems connecting, so when i next spoke to them , i was told, "NO NO NO" its only for wap. but they said a mistake had been made & they would refund me, but only use it for wap, when i got the bill, all GPRS use had NOT been charged for, how the f**k am i supposed to know what the f**king deal is now peole are saying all GPRS @ 30mb per month, how silly of Orange to make it so hard for their workers, they are falling apart aren't they.

It seems the policy now is to confuse us so much that we can no longer keep track of our spending.

@pachy - Yeah know the feeling! Got told 100 different things, but coming from customer service myself i do sympathise with Orange employees.. Us Reps are *always* last to be told anything.. I've been told by a rep from 156 and a guy in customer service who spoke to a team leader.. So if they fuck up they'll wish they hadn't.. /me growls.... ^_^ ~Eva

So is this on new contracts only or can l add it to an existing contract??

Posted by Eva-m00
@Jezzaj - is available on all contracts as far as i know, as long as you sign up before 31st july. ~Eva

What about pay as you go orange? Is the offer restricted to contract customers only?

Posted by Dj Boyi
Just got mine activated(FREE3MONTHS)although i was on it b4! :-D btw,Its the Access Pack,WAP ONLY!,Thats what i was told anyway. :-)

Posted by gareth_ian_davies
Have looked into it and found that orange say as you in are offering free Wap and gprs until the end of august with a 100mb limit every month so that sounds like a better offer to me!

Posted by Eva-m00
@boyi

Nope it's NOT Wap only. It's for POP3 email, but allows GPRS Internet access as well.

This is the Mobile Email promotion, not the same thing!

Itss UTTER confusion, we need written evidence of these promotions from Orange don't we !!!!!!!!!

Posted by Dj Boyi
Well i was offered 10mb of GPRS or 200mins WAP csd ANYTIME of day! Being on ED50 i chose the GPRS. @Pachy,this is bigger than confusion! @Eva,i asked about the email thing and he (Carl at Orange) said it was'nt for that,he said it was the access pack only,so whats this 200mins thing???

Posted by Eva-m00
@boyi - He's talking bollocks, it's nothing to do with the Access pack! It's called 'Mobile email promotion' and it's even on the Orange website! Seriously, you'll speak to 10 people who know fuck all before you find one person who does.. ~Eva

Could someone please give me the info I need to activate my orange GPRS?

Thanks a lot!

Posted by GothTeddy
call 156............

hmm... looks like the free 3 months is only available to new activations. so i'd have to have my bundle removed then readded... too much hassle

Posted by Eva-m00
@GothTeddy

I've been with Orange since March 12th and I just removed my GPRS 15MB bundle, added Mobile email promo to my account.

Piece of piss ^_^
