GPRS Parameters not supported

I've seen references to this error on varoius forums including this one but i've not once seen a solution to it or what causes it.

I get it while trying to access pop mail over a GPRS connection on a T610, although i've seen it referenced on the T68 and T68i as well.

I am using vodafone (uk) with carphone warehouse as my billing agent. Have spoken to the technical people at both and not been much help although the vodafone guy thought that the carphone warehouse had to send me the configuration settings.

Does anyone have an idea of
a) what causes the error
or
b) how to correct it.

Thanks
Matt

Phone up vodafone and ask for the data support people. Then get them to change your GPRS account to a DATA APN and then you will be able to use GPRS to send and receive email.

Thanks, that sounds about right.

I phoned vodafone themselves and they said carphone warehouse voda people had to do this. Does that sound right?

When i phoned them up before they said they didnt have the T610 on their system yet, should this matter?

If you bought your phone and contract from CPW then yes you do need to give them a call.
A lot of places still do not have support for the T610 setup on their systems yet, just give them time. If they ask you could always try telling them that you have a t68i.

Phil.

Hi!

I've the same troubles here in Austria, but only with WAP over GPRS, but I get the same error. I work for one of those big T.....'s so I tried to change the GPRS Service, but I always get the same error. Can someone tell me, what the other GSM Providers told you to change in the settings?

Thanx

I had this problem (i think). Could not connect to a mailserver over GPRS, wap worked nicely.

Im using a Home.se account (POP3) and Vodafone in sweden.

I solved it by creating two GPRS-acounts, one for E-mail/internet and one for WAP.

Using different APN's. "services.vodafone.net" for WAP and "internet.vodafone.net" for the E-mail one... Have no clue if this helps, but check if you are using the right APN.
