Mornin,
Nice day, i was gonna get a T610 today, but no fu*king voda shop has it on PAYT (nice price of 249.99
Posted by evoke
mark it had all gone pete tong overnight at work but im slowly pulling it back now
Posted by T68iKING
So ed, is matrix on xbox worth it, or should i get the T610?
Posted by mhorton
I've been playing the Matrix on the Xbox yes it well worth it, Its amazing, and yes you should get the T610, I want one now as well,
Ed - Glad your day is getting better
Posted by evoke
yes its a great game... loving every minute of it but i cant help feeling it looks like a PS2 port graphically in places as the xbox could achieve more... gameplay is suprb in 3rd person and the moves are excellent!! driving bits are a bit crappy imo but dont really retract from the fact u can do some kick ass bullet time, bullet dodging fighting moves! amazing!
Posted by mhorton
With most games now, Generaly they are ported over from the PS2, But still a wicked game and worth getting,
Ed you got a Xbox now then?
Posted by evoke
ive had an xbox for ages mark
Posted by Eamonn
Yep he has...
Posted by mhorton
O I didn't know, Wicked aren't they, Have you got it chiped yet
Posted by evoke
not chipped yet but i know someone who chips em.. just need to get round to it.. excellent console though.. much better than my old ps2 and GC..
Posted by geo2k
GC rocks, its got sonic lol
Posted by Black Cat
morning all. @buster, running the line is what the assistant referees / linesmen do. @ arfur, best place for a cd930 mate.
Posted by mhorton
You really need to get it chipped, I have a 120 gig hdd now with 50 games on there, Completly blows your mind what you can do with it,
Posted by T68iKING
Good to see that the two of you have good taste's in mobiles and games
Mark or ed, can either of you tell me the process/cost of me getting mine chipped (i want to wait while they do it, just wanna know a good price i should pay, as i know a few shops?) and then getting the games (you mentioned downloading them)? via PM, email or post here with the reply.
I am planning on buying Matrix, RTCW and MotoGP2 this afternoon, which should cost less than 80, so if chipping my system etc is cheaper and allows me to get more games, then i may do it that way
Posted by Eleventy7
afternin, absolutely monumentally shite day at work this mornin, i look forward to more of the same this afternoon!
Posted by mhorton
The Xbox chip costs £30 including shipping from http://www.baldbouncer.co.uk
If your into the FXP scene, You can download the games and burn them to DVD's or put them to Xbox hdd,
Posted by buster99
Thanks Black Cat. Still learning a few football comments.
Posted by evoke
@geo2k i had sonic really didnt like it. star wars was amazing though but was very dissapointed with mario sunshine
Posted by arfur
Heres a football saying for you. The referees a !anker.
Posted by T68iKING
yeah mark, thanks for the info, but i heard that you wont be able to play online if you get it chipped, so i might give it a miss (how much for the 120gb HD, did you fit it?).
@ed, Mario was excellent at first, then i got about half way through, and got seriously bored
Posted by mhorton
You can play online games with a chipped Xbox, You have to get a switch that turns the chip on when not online and off when you are,
If you open the Xbox it's just like a PC, DVD drive, Processor, Memory, Hdd. Un plug the old one and put in the new, It's maybe not as easy as that as you have to use a special piece of software.
Posted by T68iKING
In total then, how much have you paid to get it chip, the HD etc (50 games is quite alot, how much memory for 1 game? would a 80gb HD be ok?)?
Posted by mhorton
£130 - Xbox,
£30 - Chip
£10 - Switch
£100 - 120 gig hdd,
You will need a DVD writter and a computer that has a network card and a cross over cable.
Go to http://www.xbox-scene.com
Posted by T68iKING
Serious, thats quite a bit of money (to get the DVD-RW and HD), but you already copied a few games yeah? You need the DVD-RW to store the game on, then transfer to xbox, or is there a way to transfer to HD without the dvd disk?
Posted by Eleventy7
evenin. Xboxs are arse! PS2 Broadband is the future of gaming!
who's gonna watch the footy tonight then?
Posted by arfur
nope gonna watch matrix on c5 probably
can someone pm/email me Chris' email please.
Posted by Eamonn
I suppose you could connect the HD to your PC and transfer the files from your main HD to the Xbox HD then reconnect it into your X-box.
Posted by mhorton
It's up to you what Hard Drive you get, The hdd in the Xbox is 10 gig as standard, So you don't have to get a new Hard Drive, But then you're need a DVD writter to copy the games,
But if you get a bigger hdd you will connect you're Xbox to your PC and tranfer the games over to the hard drive,

mite get a HDD for my PS2 so i can get linux OS
Posted by mhorton
That's never need done on a PS2 I can find,
Posted by Eamonn
linux on a PS2?!
Posted by Eleventy7
yep, read about it a while ago, will try and find the info. Just reading up about PS2 bband, the only hardware i need is a £40 PS2 network card, which is nice, and use my existing NTL bband. There's a game called SOCOM: Navy Seals that comes with a USB headset so u can actually talk to the other players, and even talk to the computer-controlled players!
edit: check this out: http://www.linuxplay.com/ , don't get that on ur fancy XBoxs do ya?!

I heard of it on a Xbox but not a PS2
Posted by Eleventy7
i don't think u'll ever see Linux on XBox coz it's a micro$hite product, they'd never let you use a rival OS on it!, check the link http://www.linuxplay.com/

edit: WTF would u actually want linux on your PS2?
[ This Message was edited by: evoke on 2003-05-21 18:45 ]
Posted by Eleventy7
ok so you can on xbox, but u have to mod ur console and it's in no way supported by M$, whereas PS2 Linux comes with everything u need and is supported by Sony
Posted by mhorton
Windows now that's a first,

but why would u want to? anyway modding ur xbox for linux (which u wouldnt want) is a small price to pay for decent graphics
Posted by Eleventy7
PS2 has decent enuff graphics for most, not to mention a control pad that's actually smaller than your average family saloon
Posted by evoke
yeah but the xbox pad is nice and comfy m8
