O2/Btopenworld emails - Esato archive

My mobile operator is O2
My ISP is btopenworld (broadband)
I have used the configurator on the S/E website to get various type of WAP/GPRS connections.
I just cannot manage to set up my P800 to retrieve my btopenworld emails! When running anything but o2 GPRS and click "Get&Send" it comes back "Call was not answered" - eg erricson WAP or Freeserve (genie). using 02 GPRS - it tries to connect to the server - and tries and tries - no luck. What am I doing wrong and how do I set this up properly? ta
