P800 stmp send mail not working with cox.net

I set up the pop and smtp for cox.net (san diego CA,USA) on P800. I was able to send about 2 emails then started recieving the "Email message has invalid "To", "Cc" or "Bcc" address.

I know this has something to do with the provider blocking users from sending span and such, but now does just the avg joe go about sending email form their phone if they block it. I guess I could use the GPRS and go to the web sight for sending but that seems like such a pain.

I contacted cox.net support but they ran the other way, not understanding the question was now do I get authen.. to send the email from my phone, not how to set it up.

Has anyone else delt with this.

Cox dosen't support sending mobile emails using their SMTP server. You can only retrieve mails from their POP server.
There are free POP/SMTP services that you search for on the net.

If you are really desperate you can try using an open relay mail server (do a google search). Would advise against this though because all of your emails will probably be re-directed to spam folders.
