I read now that wap on vodafone is free to look at? what does it charge for?

I mean can i browse the "wap web" for nothing? and without downlaoding pics or ringtones or joining upto news groups it will be free?

thanks

This depends completely on your service providor...

Why don't you just call then and ask them?

(And I know you said you are on Vodaphone, but Voda Singlepoint don't have free WAP access whereas Voda retail do....)

it just means that you're only charged for the time it takes to download the information, not for your total time connected.

mens you can load up a page (e.g. yahoo wap) and leave it there for hours and you'll only be charged for the few seconds it takes to download the page itself

Well I phoned vodafone and they say WAP wil be in my inclusive minutes, and gprs what i have been using isnt charged apart from when I downlaod or something. So how much you recon it will be when opening a page like you said?

Also I downloaded screeensavers for my t68i and the bloke on the phone said it;'s like 75p per KB he said he aint sure, that cant be right can it? if it is they aint free and i need to pay up!

Like Andy_P said, some parts of Voda are free, some aren't.

On o2 contract its allegedly 2.50 per mb, on o2 prepay until june/july its free.

I just got yahoo mail on othe net and i can get the mail from my fne, is that free anyone know? and can you send emails from phone to email?

If you're accessing the internet to do that (actually choosing internet, as opposed to using a phones email client) it will be charged at normal GPRS page downloading rates.

As for phone-2-email things, I know o2 used to do one but it was a bit buggy and is currently being worked on. Dunno 'bout Voda.
