Just checked my settings...
POP server is pop.mail.yahoo.com
You probably have to use the SMTP server of the connection you're using e.g. to send mails from my P800 on Orange, I have to use smtp.orange.net for all outgoing mails from different accounts.
Hope this is of some help

check that you've got pop3 access enabled on your yahoo mail account, it's in email settings: "POP Access and Forwarding"
[edit] if you'd done this you'd have the settings to use

You might have to enable SMTP authentication, as I know Yahoo will only allow that to send mails sorryd.

Guys. You have to pay extra for pop3 access on yahoo otherwise it wont work. Some good free pop3 accounts that I use are hacker7.net and softhome net. Hacker7 is very good. They require a 48 hour time frame to process your app but it is worth it. You can get instant access with softhome though.

My Yahoo (.co.uk) account work with no problems for POP3 and for SMTP. It used authentication for POP3 and the SMTP used the POP3 username and pwd. Simple. And it works. I do not have to pay a thing. I've also got an NTL account. This works too for POP3, but you can only send SMTP to other NTL addresses! As much use as...... At least I can pick up my home mail.

you dont have rto pay a thing for yahoo pop access, i have been using it on my home computrer for over 3 years, via pop3 in my normal email client. no probs.

I just set up another yahoo email. When I in to email options to enable pop3 access or mail forwarding it says this service cost extra 19.95 a year. Then it takes you to an order form. If I use my email client to try and access it, it sends of a message saying that pop3 access cost extra. So how is it that you get it for free?

Probably because you use a nokia ;-). Or more likely you are using yahoo.com not yahoo.co.uk . I set up a pop3 account there for a mate last week and it was free.

Yahoo.co.uk allow free POP3 access if you subscribe to advertising emails. Check your options to do this in yahoo mail and subscribe to be given the POP3 settings for you.
