People dont make funn about somethink you dont know!!!
Yes you can put other os. That how you do it.
turn jog dial up * jog dial down jog dial down * jog dial down *
It will take you to system menu.
then you choose 5(Format internal disc)
Next it will ask you for a disc. So all you need is a big Duo Memory Stick 128. Copy your Microsoft XP on memory stick before you format disk.
Whenever you turn phone on it should start instalation but also will show you some new Windows instalation menus. Make shure to choose Mobile Instalation.
Whate and enjoy.
Mac OS X for Mobile systems also on the way. Shoud be out at the end of the mounth.

If you still think i am stuped look at date note was posted.
Do not DO IT.
Symbian rule.

Not me sturted
I had to make joke out of it. People there is no friking way you can change your OS. Upgrade yes. Change helll no

Posted by malcs
hmmm perhaps if the ROM chip was replaced........ Mebbe you could install Windows For Phones???

Posted by BITRU
People wake up. You cant change os.
Rom replace >>> You can rewrite rom. Firmware upgrade is a rom replacement. They rewrite rom.
But other os need to be wroten specificaly for this phone and know how to work with it's hardware. Who going to doit??????
Sony... for what they already got Sumbian contract.
Microsoft... for what? this market is tooo small. And SE wount alow them to do it.
And why would you want to do it????

Why the hell would you want PPC on ANYTHING?!?!?!

Oh well... there's one born every minute I guess...

Palm already has their own market share...US smartphones will most likely come with Palm.

European phones will come with Symbian.

Makes sense.

M$ will get the suckers to join them... then M$ will screw them over like they do all their business partners who don't pay more... just like the mafia.

what the hell....i hope M$ never comes 2 mobile phone market....enough with the crappy win98........xp a bit better, but still with some minuses

it is possible to change the os BUT
you would need alot of kit to do it for one you would need the programe codes which lock the P800 to its current OS which could be upto 60,000 numbers and letters long and then you would need to make sure that when the new os wants to vibrate the phone it has the right codes to make that activate and the same for screen, sound, bluetooth, memory, even the battery indicaters (and so on) it would take 2 months with the best people and even then the P800 mite only have 32MB internal memory to store its os ontop of the 12 MB shared memory for users and the new os may not fit..

in the long run no one would even atempt this because it would take to long and would cost alot of money, not to mention your lovely P800
