P800 battery life and Internet settings

Anyone got any views on battery life on the P800? Mine's usually at undr 30% by the end of the day! v pooor. I don't use the phone a hell of a lot, mainly the PDA and I've switched the light off. Does the earpiece use more battery? Don't use bluetooth either.
And..... trying to get Internet working - not WAP - and pick up POP3 mail via the Internet gateway. With Vodafone. DOES NOT WORK. Using GPRS, web web and internet for the gateway, with the usual POP3 and SMTP retrieval settings. Anyone else got this working. It works with the WAP gateway on Internet, but I can't pick up mail with it. Other than that, can't wait for all the new apps and the 128 stick!!
