Posted by steele
@rare

Don't forget to use the "SUN GPRS" internet profile when browsing, and not the "SUN WAP". Normally, it prompts you what to use.

Posted by jepaz
I'm only using Primary DNS address of 192.168.164.021 and no Secondary DNS address....it works just fine.

How about 3660?

Globe blinks, offers unlimited phone plan

Beginning March 1, Touch Mobile will offer a new service(?). P300 for 30 days or P50 for 5 days of unlimited text and calls to fellow touch mobile subscribers.

The article doesn't mention if they will also impose caps for call sessions.

Posted by steele
@GOwin
That's great news for us consumers.more choices!you're right that sun network has already been congested:-( however,i don't see myself getting a 3rd sim.esp a touch mobile sim.would you know if they have gprs?hmmm if yes i'm sure it's limited to globe approved sites only.

Posted by chili
@steele
No, Touch Mobile has no gprs, and none of the other features (downloads, etc) that "complete" sims have. It's a direct answer by Globe to Smart's Talk N Text.

That is why Sun is precious to me. It's the complete package, with the lowest price! (I'm MMS-crazy now, as you know, he he! )

And I'm starting not to mind not being able to call sometimes at night. Sun really fixed up the SMS thing. Texting is a breeze anytime.

@steele & gowin

thanks so much! I got it working

Posted by dlreyes
Take note that TM's unlimited calls and text is still on a promotional period of 30 days starting March 1... we still don't know if they would continue after that.

Posted by steele
@RaRe
No problemo.just don't let your balance zero out if you're on prepaid.

@chili
Actually pati si monica24,mms crazed na den
And yeah,never mine about not being able to call at night. I wouldn't have called if i was using a globe or smart sim either.
@dlreyes
You're right about that. It's still promotional.testing if peeps would suck into that.

Posted by rickydel
Do you have gprs signal today? No gprs signal here although full bars network signal

Posted by steele
@rickydel
My gprs is fluctuating but if i try to send,open or click a link,the blue triangle appears.

Posted by adv99576
Smart's Chairman and CEO have also confirmed that they will soon follow suit in the UNLIMITED calling/texting market...

Sun will definitely slow down in growing their subscriber numbers, since people who are irritated with Sun's poor signal and connection will be enticed to go back to Smart (or globe).

Take note that Smart's forte is in excellent network quality, so it's time that we go back to smart. but still, thanks to sun for waking up smart (in the idea of unlimited calling/texting).

Posted by arnoldc
When was that Smart press release? I just read from the papers the other day that Smart WILL NOT follow the scheme. Globe will, but only on Touch Mobile brand with some restrictions.

Posted by 619
arnold... last monday inquirer business page 2, but no definite on how will it go

tm will be on trial 30days.

Posted by tweetymanila
HELP!! I can't access gprs, i can't send mms and I can't open mms received.

I activated my gprs and mms already. Called up Sun nth times, wala pa din.

Help me please. Thanks.

Posted by arnoldc
619, hype lang yan. to say they're on the game so to speak. unless smart says it's available di ako maniwala.

Posted by steele
@tweetymanila
Did you let your load zero out while browsing?

@arnoldc
Bro thanks for the email. I was able to connect to the s700i sun gprs through BT. But the problems is, the page cannot be displayed when i tried to open the esato site.

Posted by Jowi
pano yung unlimited ng March 12 to April 12? di aabot ng 1 month?

Posted by lethal_cassanova
question lang sa mga taga suncellular CSR

how come you dont know anything sa product nyo?

every time customer will ask question ang sagot nyo
"sir saglit lang po, itatanong ko sa supervisor ko"

bakit hindi nalang supervisor nyo ang maging CSR para naman mabilis ang sagot

dapat siguro... mag training ulit mga CSR ng suncell... kc nakaka inis yung tuwing tatawag ka and mag inquire ang sagot agad sayo...

"sir saglit lang po, itatanong ko lang sa supervisor ko"

Just call hotline and tell them that "repent" for letting your load zero out

Anyone can help with my HP Ipaq 1940 config? I wanna use my s700i and bluetooth dial up modem under Sun Cellular Network.

Quick survey: How much are you willing to spend for a 24/7 GPRS?

Posted by GOwin

Hmm ... i would consider a small premium over regular, unlimited dial-ups.

There's rumor going around about a Digitel-Bayantel tieup that would "shake" the local broadband industry.

I got no details. Just random rumors.

@Gowin
That would be great if ever that happens;)

@macher, P599/month

Posted by steele
@macher
99 pesos for 99 hours will be cool

My 24/7 expired last 07Mar2005 but up to now my load still the same. Hmmm....

PLDT weroam offering mobile gprs/edge unlimited (using Smart network) for individual accounts for Php 2,000/month but Php 10,000 deposit for one year... one time connection fee of Php 2,500. No voice just data. Corporate accounts no deposit.

Sorry for the OT but since it was being talked about, I could not just resist. Pls just create another topic if the interest arises.

Posted by 619
we are talking about unlimited.

sun's unlimited call/text P250/mo
smart/tnt prepaid unlimited; not sure, but check out http://money.inq7.net/breakin[....]yyyy=2005&mon=03&dd=10&file=22
tm's unlimited P300 lang but until april 7 only. (trial yata)
pldt P10.00 per call to smart, tnt and ndd (lugi if using it to fax.. 1page is P10 compared to P3.00 before)
weroam unlimited (gprs/edge) P2,000

Posted by lethal_cassanova
watch out sun cellular... lahat naman 1 month lang ang promo... then renew it as a feature of the network...tulad ng suncellular.... promo nila is 1 month muna then nag continue sila

yahooo.... no more congested sun network!!!

wala nanaman bang gprs? i've been trying to connect walang nangyayari!

Posted by angelikdevil
hi,
im having trouble using pop3 email with my sun sim. d mka-connect eh. im using a K700i.

please advise... anyone???

thanks!

Posted by xerx

ang account na dapat dun minternet and outgoing server dapat mail.suncellular.com.ph...di din naman ito nagagamit madalas laging down di din makasend ng email chambahan nak ng pakete

Posted by vwbeetle
harharhar kasi naman ang tiyaga mo eh...

Posted by chili
I tried mail.suncellular.com.ph as outgoing server but it didn't work, so I upgraded my email account with Fastmail, enabling me to use Fastmail's own server for sending/receiving email. This setup was great -- sending email was really cheap over Sun's GPRS, using my K700i's email client.

However, starting about a month ago, access to my email provider's server has been blocked by Sun! I'm not sure if they did this by blocking ports 25 & 26 or if they singled out certain servers only.

Sun have become complacent and have stopped to address the many congestion-related problems that came with 24/7. Messing up email access isn't helping their cause because regular GPRS users comprise the majority of those who use Sun as their main sim.

@Steele -- Your friend at Sun seems baffled by this problem too. She hasn't replied to my email. Thanks anyway.

@Chili
All of your concerns together with the others have been forwarded to technical. As now, she won't be able to assist us directly because she was transferred to SM Lucena Branch.

try smtp of sun

202.138.128.1

Posted by angelikdevil
hmm... interesting....

so this means that i have to use sun's pop3 and smtp servers that (usually) dont even work huh?

i usually check emails pa naman from my phone coz it's more convenient for me... haaay...

thanks for the help/comments guys...

@chili:

im using hotpop and gmail pop3... ur prolly right... sun might be blocking some of 'em ports.

Hay naku! you know guys, napaka bulok ng service ngaun ng sun. imagine, di ka matawag dahil laging network bc, anytime of the day. Ang hirap din magsend ng text, at kung dumating ang mga messages from other network very very late,.. as in tulog na ang katext ko bago pa dumating ang message nya sa cellphone ko. Isa pa... bat ganun, iisang text message pero darating 4 copies! Most probably this is because hindi kaya ng system ng sun ang 24/7 nilang service. They should have upgrade their system first before they get into this 24/7 thing, para naman hindi tayo naapektuhan ng ganito!

Posted by 619
you canT use gmail coz our phone doesnt support SSL (w/c gmail requires for pop)

use your own pop for incoming

use sun's smtp if using sun
use smart's smtp if using smart
use globe's smtp if you are using globe.
