@mcbernz007, rickydel, bouncybanana & simplengmael- Welcome!

Posted by mary_md
@bouncybanana- Most of the time, i get fast connection to Sun's WAP. It is slow in only about 3 out of 10 connections.

Posted by rickydel
@chito-suspense!!! @mary-how fast is it compared to globe or smart

Posted by arnoldc
chito, what about new subscribers?

Posted by GOwin
aba, aba!

Posted by mary_md
@rickydel- I borrowed my sister's phone a while ago which has a Globe prepaid sim, and simultaneously, i connected to Yahoo using her Globe prepaid and my Sun prepaid. Sun was 2-3 seconds delayed in opening a WAP page compared to Globe. I can't comment on Smart because i haven't tried it yet. I looked at the phone's log both used 11kb. Then i checked my sister's balance, it consumed Php32.00, which means she was billed Php2.90/kb!

Posted by rickydel
Mary-you've got fast connection btw what unit do u use in the trial?

Posted by bouncybanana
whats gonna happen in october? cmon tell us

Posted by mr. superman
......the promo will start on nov.1 and trial period on oct. 1-31. better buy a sun sim now for those who dont have :

Posted by bouncybanana
anong promo yan? hehe!

Posted by dlreyes
Well now it can be told since they have started advertising...

Call and Text all you want, Sun to Sun, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week...

For Post Paid - Php 250/month on top of your present subscription
For Prepaid - Php 100 for 10 days, Php 250 for 30 days via call cards, e-pins or text

Posted by weneklek
di kaya mag congest ang network nila nyan?

Posted by rickydel
I think they should update www.suncellular.com.ph for more information and developments

Posted by dlreyes
http://www.suncellular.com.ph/sunshop/24by7faqs.html

What they should update is their Hotline people... they're merely forwarders of information and complaints.

Do an experiment when they ask for your name and phone number and say it as fast as possible that its impossible for them to get it. They won't bother to have you repeat it and instead ask for your concern.

They don't even have a clue of what TEXTEMAIL is despite subscribers receiving sms regarding Sun's offering.

@dlreyes-tnx for the info. In fairness to Sun csr on hot line I find them more courteous than in other networks at least oha

May I ask, why go for csd? mas mahal yun di ba? Sun WAP is still free

Posted by 619
ken... csd.. calls sun.. so it will fall under the unlimited. re free gprs, i dont have that luxury.. have 5 sims, all are consuming load

Posted by rickydel
@619-pm @kenski-korek ka dyan

Posted by ex_crusader
makes sense!

Posted by kenski
@rickydel,ok nb wap browsing mu using ur p800? @619, time to give ur other sims to ur mistresses guys ask ko lang are all prepaid users qualfd 4 the promo? Is there a need to register or something?

Posted by rickydel
Ok na ok esp. in the morning mabilis sya altho I'm still dreaming of free use of gprs using opera browser

Posted by lethal_cassanova

paano kaya kung biglang maging 500,000 agad subscriber nila bago mag end of the year because of this unlimited calls/txt feature...

magkaron kaya sila ng party line tulad ng partyfone ng EXTELCOM?
hehhee

THANKS SUNCELLUAR!!! MORE POWER!!!

Posted by adv99576
well, ang comment ko lang is that ginaya lang ng Sun Cellular ang "Express Unlimited" product ng Extelcom (see www.extelcom.com for more info).

anyways, this is still good. Sun Cellular in this sense is a "good manggagaya". kahit na manggagaya lang, at least mas mura ang presyo nila ang it will still benefit those users who don't mind having to go out of their houses just to get a signal.

iv been using sun gprs for several days and it does not consume load. maybe its just pure luck

Posted by bouncybanana
can anyone get on yahoo messenger? ayaw gumana saakin.

Posted by lethal_cassanova
bweheheh adv99576

too bad for extelcom party fone

adv99576

Posted by Lopio
Tried calling and txt to a sun number, nag deduct pa rin.

Posted by dlreyes
hmmm... funny but my Sun prepaid which has 0 load since last month was able to call other Sun numbers. At least from now till the 15th, it would be SUNdays for me.

@lethal
bro, by the tone of your message, your implying that extelcom is "my" company, or that i'm working for them...
well, clarify ko lang, i'm not working for any mobile phone company.
whatever personal observation i post in this forum is an independent third-party observation. and it stays that way.
i may have my own biases, everyone has their own, but i try very hard to be objective in my posts. in fact, i am amenable to the reality that each mobile network operator has their own pro's and con's.

all i want is to bring the truth to the readers. journalist po ako. =)

24/7 is truly a brave & daring move by sun, what can i say except ayos!!! but the question still remains, for how long can they manage this move? Mahirap kapag nasanay na ang mga tao sa libre, coz by the time you charge your rates back you know what happens next.

Posted by GOwin
24/7 unlimited calls and text sounds great!

is anyone experiencing network congestion yet?

we know the pinoy's penchant for all things free, and how creative they can become in abusing them.

Posted by kenski
@danielle, that's a good point. Sa tingin ko namn they thought about this hard before they went offered it to the public kasi since iba yung kolkard for this scheme than a regular kolkard. For now let's enjoy the 15 days free di ba?

Then I called my friends na naka-sun mga 11am, my gf at 230pm and 730pm so far mabilis mag connect. No busy signals! My last kol lasted 20mins. so far ok naman at di ako nbabawasan ng load

Im really hoping many of my friends switch to suncell at least free or not malaki tipid 50c per text..Signal's not a problem to me by the way (full bars inside the house)

It is rumored that Sun's move to increase its subscriber base is to attract a foreign investor to seriously consider buying into Sun... Hutchison?

Posted by yogin
to kenski, i truly agree with that!!! sana lahat mag sun na lang... though i have used smart, globe, talk&text, and touch.. they are all ok, but sun really has the lowest rate.. lalo na may 24x7 sila ngayon!!! good thing..!!! long live SUN!!! and to other networks! LONG LIVE ESATO FORUM!

Posted by The GLENSTR
oki naman SUN.. wla lang signal sa selected places, like sa ibanc classrooms ko.. asar lang ako sa credit limit nila kasi before P800 yng credit limit ko now gnawa na nila P1200 but sum na ng current bal and running bill.. which means lumiit sya... well isa lang ibig sabihin magbayad agad ng bill!

Posted by adv99576
kainis naman ang sun! ung sun line ko lalong nahirapan maghanap ng signal... i noticed this morning, the signal would fluctuate on and off, kahit na nasa labas na ako ng bahay... effect ng 24/7?

Posted by jepaz
The signal flactuates once in a while even before the new promo but I'm still satisfied.

Posted by lethal_cassanova
since october 1...di pa ako naka experience ng drop calls or di network busy...pero syempre konti palang kc ang naka unlimited... siguro by december...maka experience na tayo ng network busy... wag naman sana

yeah its about time that cell network here in the philippines gives unlimited calls other than EXTELCOM of course...

i used extelcom before for unlimited calls... but deym... you have to try calling 20x before ka maka connect...

i dont think suncellular will increase their charges in the future... kc sa unlimited calls nila... meron siguradong papasok na income sa kanila... mas maigi na yon kaysa natutulog ang kanilang cellsites dahil konti ang subscribers and marami syempre ang hindi nagbabayad

Posted by dlreyes
Ever since this 24/7 unlimited thing we've been experimenting with Sun to Sun calls.... I called up my wife who was also using a Sun number and who was just 3 feet away from me... Did you know that there is a fourth of a second delay in the delivery of voice services compared to speaking in real time?

Hah! the things we think of...

Posted by ex_crusader
now i really wanna know the csd settings of sun... sonyericsson.com wap conifgurator as well as that of nokia's has removed the CSD OTA settings of sun, also, sun cust reps dont provide the CSD settings anymore.... i smell something elusive

Posted by yogin
Nevertheless, we all have the option to choose from the variety of networks that we have right now.. it jusT so happen that sun is still establishing its customers.. hehehe basta lets be SMART enough to choose the right one!!! awright!!! LONG LIVE ESATO!!!

Posted by rickydel
@*active sun subscribers promo period now up to end of the month yeepee

Posted by yogin
@rickydel really??!! i though its up only until the 15th of october... well if its that the case, thats very goood!!!!!!

Posted by p3rsmag
hi guys, am really keen into getting a SUN Cellular prepaid card.

free GPRS ( i hope!)
24/7 promo.

question ko lang cos i got to read here that SOME get FREE GPRS browsing while others got charged for this. Do you guys think this has something to do with the prepaid simcard? Kse di ba they have a new sim the one you buy for 150pesos that is loaded with 300pesos worth of credits? Do you guys think if i buy an "older" sim, i will get a higher chance of browsing GPRS for free?

might be a stupid question, but am basing it on the replies ive read here. .baka nga it has something to do with new or old sims yung free na GPRS

Posted by kenski
@ex-cru, i guess they were able to think of that csd scenario @ricky, is that applicable to postpaid en prepaid?were did u got the news?..tia
