mgkno b tlga wap over gprs surfing ng sun as of now? ska un apn b na minternet e png wap tlga o bk png web browsing/surfing? meaning ns mhal byad per kb 2lad sa globe?

actually, don sa nag sabi na aakyat ka pa sa blah blah at itapat sa araw para makakuha ng signal, "sun" is operating in higher frequency, higher than those of globe and smart, so they need not much cellsites to cover the whole country unlike globe and smart. sun currently has 500 cellsites and they're increasing that number to a thousand this year, well, as far as i know.. Digitel is a good reputable telecom company, their services match those of smart's and globe's or even outdo them.
Sun cellular is currently interconnected to Globe, (voice calls only[currently]), and interconnection of SMS is ongoing, they're arranging with smart for interconnections of calls and sms, so by the 3rd or 4th quarter of the year, you can enjoy the affordable service rates of "sun cellular". PERO, kapag naka bili na ng 3G license ang Globe and Smart, baka mahirapang makahabol ang Sun... well, para sakin, Sun is 'promising'. Tingnan na lang natin kapag they're fully operational, let's avoid too much speculations. let's give the network a chance, but opinions and arguments are definitely respected and expected...
FYI: smart has the most number of cellsites, as far as i know, they have 2800 cellsites nationwide, in comparison to sun, sun has only 500, but they'd increase it to a thousand this year, besides, as i said, they're cellsites are operating in higher frequency, so they'd cover larger areas.

Posted by odyig
guys confirmed na ba na sun has already started charging for gprs? how about kung wap over gprs lang?
Posted by Jowi
Confrmd.25cnts per min
Posted by kutchi manggo
ganun ba yun, if you have higher frequency you'll going to have large coverage??? i thought frequency is inversely proportional to the wavelength
Posted by mjct6210
d n pla free wap/gprs sa sun. bkt kya sandali lng nla gnawang free un? nagdadalawang isip 2loy ako kng mag swtich ako ksi free pa sa glbe e. and to think na kla ko mas mura they are charging the same per kilobyte rate with smart.

yan din ang alam ko. that's why cb radios and short wave radios can travel longer distances compared to uhf. parang sound din yan, yung lower freq. like the base of a car audio system travels farther compared to the highs of the tweeter. ganun din diba dapat sa 900mhz compared to 1800mhz. the advantage naman of higher frequencies like 1800 is that it can penetrate buildings better than lower frequencies

It is now confirmed MMS messages P1.00 per send but only Sun-to-Sun. Other networks.. not yet available.
Posted by mjct6210
@gondae
did you ask if that P 1.00 has kb limit?
Posted by Jazzbo
I called 200 on Sun and asked about GPRS rates. The girl said, "It's between P2 to P15."
"Is that per KB?" I asked.
"Per minute."
Huh??? I didn't have the heart to argue. What are they talking about?
Posted by lincoln_f
do anyone know if you can send mms even if your just using a sun prepaid?
Posted by shatterstar
di pala tlga avail un wap/gprs ng sun kc ala p pla tlga cla n gnun n service. ang pwede lng gmitin sa wap e un gngmit n png modem(apn=minternet). sa mms nmn e P15/download. pg mgssend ka nmn e P2 & alang kb limit. natry nyo na ba websms sa suncellular.com.ph? ngsend kc ako d k p alam f ngccharge. hehe.

Hi guys I was able to send MMS from Sun to Smart using a prepaid sim. How much will I be billed? My charge ba if you download an MMS msg you received? At least it was easier to set up than Globe.
Posted by 19timothy
gud pm. tanong ko lang kung nagrefresh na ba free txt nyo? sa akin kasi dapat kahapon pa pero hanggang ngayon wala pa rin, tumawag ako sa 200 at sabi ng CSR mag antay lang daw.
Posted by Jazzbo
I just noticed something while dealing with Sun. The technical services are ok so far, but I notice when you deal with their Customer Service reps at 200 the operators are medyo... well they're JOLOGs! hehe Sorry that's the best way to describe it. Very very rough around the edges.
This is only obvious because we got used to smooth and professional operators from Smart and Globe. Part of growing pains again maybe, hehe
And they still get confused with MMS and GPRS, their answers are never consistent.

Im currently on a luzon tour, d pa talaga ok ang signal ng sun sa provinces, minsan may signal kaso walang interconnection with other networks. Di pa talaga hinog ang sun

Hello guys, anyone here na nakapg internet over GPRS using pc/pda? Anu ba ang settings for a 3650 cell?..tnx
Posted by Jowi
@kenski
just use any working ip address (o2, ericsson, halebop) & use "minternet" as apn
Posted by kenski
@jowi, tnx for your reply i am now able to surf via wap over gprs on my 3650. wat would be the settings on my pda(tungsten-t) if i would use it to surf the internet/wap and using the 3650's modem and gprs connection.thanks in advance!
Posted by Jowi
@kenski
pls check previous pages of this thread...settings are posted there by dlreyes
Posted by kapitan jackal
@jowi- ok ba email client mo sa T68 using your sun cell sim? hows the charging/deductions? consistent ba? tia
Posted by kenski
@jowi, I've already read dlreyes' post.General yung instructions nya..Need the exact settings for my pda..The pda can initiate dialing and then says "signing on" then suddenly "error:ppp timeout"...anybody able to surf using suncellular's GPRS using a 3650/Tunsten-t combo?...TIA
Posted by Jowi
@kenski...sorry, don't have any knowledge on the 3650...kasi ang dial up number (sa pc/pda is *99***X#) with "X" as what data accounts your using (on a T68/T39)...ive tried it w/ a friend's TT & a PC (using IR connection)...walang problems establishing connection & surfing (i even had around 2mb of downloads of data during its free days a month ago).
-----
@KJ..yup consistent po...mabilis ang connection & downloads ng email...yun nga lang you get what you pay (consistent ang 25cents/kb...but if you actually compute it, Lets say you downloaded 49kb w/c is Php12.25...& when u checked ur balance, i noticed na ni ra roundoff nila...ie...Php12.25 -> Php 12.50 or even Php13)
Posted by kenski
@jowi, I see. Namimiss ko 2loy yung old t68i ko eh
Posted by Jowi
@nbuela
*99***X# .....the same, just replace the "X" w/ the data account that you are using on that particular number (1,2,3)
Posted by kenski
@jowi, are you using suncellular gprs ba? Do you happen to know the ip address to be used entered on a tungsten-t?...many thanks!
Posted by Jowi
@kenski
ip address is entered in the phone's setting not on the pda...
Posted by shatterstar
