@619
thanks...it's working now...but there are still experiences of crosslines...
@arnoldc
i've tried d wap settings...but i get the error "service denied" whenever i try to access webpages even suncellular's...thanks..

Posted by verlin
@steele - depende siguro sa location yung crossline? dito kasi ako sa calamba. baka konti lang sun users dito. kung sa manila madami na yan so malaking possibility ang crossline pero dapat ayusin ng sun yan.

Posted by steele
@verlin
i can't confirm if it's a location issue. aside from the crossline, do you experience drop calls even before the 15 min mark?

Posted by arnoldc
it's not a location issue. i was talking to a friend located in cavite who said it was not me on the other end.

the 15 minute limit is a joke. calls drop even before that 15 limit.

@drizzle, what phone are you using?

@arnoldc
Bro, It's safe to say that the call limit is set at 15 mins because the call duration doesn't really exceed the said time. Right now, mga 3 out of 10 calls ko napuputol pagdating ng 15 mins or 14:59. Pero madalas yung napuputol even before it reaches the limit. Hinde sya talaga stable.

Posted by verlin
@steele - yes i do experience drop calls before the 15 min limit. nasa loob kasi ako ng bahay. and palaging fluctuating signal ng sun so kapag nasa call ka at nag-fluctuate expect it to drop.

btw, na-try mo na ba call barring feature ng sun? it doesn't seem to work on me. i'm using a motorola c117. after enabling it to bar all calls may pumapasok pa ring call. seems odd or is it just my phone?

Posted by xerx

pasama ng pasama service ng sun harharharharhar oh well tiis tiis nalang harharharhar

Posted by arnoldc
down ang minternet APN ng sun ano? ayaw gumana ng Opera Mini... ok naman sa Smart on my K750.

kakaiba talaga sila

Posted by JWBlue
i read in the papers na nagpapa-approve ang SUN sa NTC ng bagong pricing scheme= they will charge PhP1 per minute from 6pm to 11:59pm (if i remember right) to help unclog peak hours. however text will still be unlimited

Posted by arnoldc
that's useless, IMHO.

maglagay sila ng mga bagong cellsites!

my sim was screwed yesterday (lost ability to do voice and text) for forcing it to send MMS via K750...

anybody has similar problem?

Posted by ryanbp
@arnoldc

possible ba yung mabarr yung voice and text mo because of forced sending of mms? bad trip naman yun.

SUN NEEDS TO HAVE MORE SITES TO ACCOMODATE ITS SUBSCRIBERS

Posted by steele
@jwblue
Pagnangyari yun, hindi na sya Call and Text unlimited. Call limited and text unlimited na lang. tsk tsk..dapat talaga magdagdag ng cell sites or anything para mag-improve yung service nila. hirap na nga magtext den ngayon.

@arnoldc
pag hinde ako makatawag or text, i just refresh my phone then ok na naman. anyway, weird naman nun, normal sms ayaw magsend tapos, mms pwede. sabagay 3pesos lang ata mms

Posted by arnoldc
@steele, ayaw mag send ng MMS IF K750 gamit ko, sa T68i ok. So, after it retries sending MMS via K750, my SIM will lose it's voice and text abilities. I have to wait long minutes to get it back.

I'll get the black phone with an X icon... incommunicado. Bwiset.

Posted by steele
@arnoldc
haven't experienced that. don't you think it might be phone related since you can send mms using your t68i?

@jwblue
Just spoke to my friend from Sun, according to her, the "Daylight Call and Text" is already available. I'll be testing it later since my load expires today

DAYLIGHT
Price: 100 pesos
Duration: 12 days
Call Service: Call Unlimited from 12am to 5:59 pm/1 peso per minute from 6:00 pm to 11:59 pm
Text Service: Text Unilimited (24 hours)

I think I would like Sun's daytime service concept. Charge higher for unlimited daytime calls, and introduce a similaar but cheaper nighttime service

Maybe more people would opt for the cheaper rates and move to the night service which would free-up the daytime network usage.

Posted by steele
@jowi
i stand corrected. edited my previous post. Thanks

@GOwin
based on my experience, it's harder to connect at night time. Probably that's why they are now charging 1 peso per min starting 6pm. And you need to have regular load for you to call. 15 pesos for a 15 min conversation is not bad i guess.

Posted by xerx

hohonga pagdating ng gabi kakabwisit na tumawag

Posted by silie
@steele

panu yan daylight service ng sun? panu iaactivate? lapit na din kasi magexpire akin eh.. mukhang okay naman yan daylight service

Posted by steele
@silie
You can buy it now at your nearest Sun Shop. Just tell them "Pabili nga ng Dalylight"

Posted by silie
tnx steele

Posted by verlin
@steele - sa hardware din merong daylight right? hehehe

Posted by drizzles
@verlin
Where did you buy your motorola c117 which I guess is an open line? I searched for it but all that I found are simlocked either by globe or smart. And technicians said it can't be opened since it's a new model and they don't have softwares yet for opening it. Is it true? I already bought mine and it's globe-locked...I wish I could have it opened. Thanks!

Posted by silie
hindi pa ata masyadong kalat yung bagong service ng sun wala pa sa binibilhan ko yung "daylight"

Posted by arnoldc
pasama ng pasama ang network ng sun, grabe kagabi!!

Posted by verlin
@drizzles - napa-openline ko yung c117 ko sa festival mall for 150 only.

@silie - yung daylight pwede raw i-avail by SMS. just type DCTU 12 and send it to 223. yan ang sabi sa akin ng customer care.

Posted by silie
ahh okay thanks verlin.. so all i have to do is buy me a callcard worth 150..

Posted by Jowi
verlin, 223? hindi 247?

Posted by silie
verified it with sun.. DCTU 12 send to 247

weird naman meron sa website ng sun 223 daw anu ba tlga?!

I cant understandwhy sun doesn't upgrade it's equipment to better service it's customers. Ang tagal na kasi ng isyu na to di ba guys?Ako I still have a sun sim but di na cya primary sim ko since napakaunreliable na ng service nila.

Posted by verlin
@kenski - why would sun upgrade their equipment? they're using new equipments right...

Posted by arnoldc
upgrade = increase capacity

badly needed by Sun.

Posted by kenski
@boss arnold, correct ka dyan!

Posted by verlin
i agree that they need to increase their cellsites. but i understand that upgrading means to replace, not to add.

Posted by GOwin
Depends on the context of how it was used.

Code:
up·grade

Pronunciation Key
v. up·grad·ed, up·grad·ing, up·grades
v. tr.

1. To raise to a higher grade or standard: upgrading their military defenses.
2. Computer Science.

1. To replace (a software program) with a more recently released, enhanced version.
2. To replace (a hardware device) with one that provides better performance.

pati meaning ng upgrade pinagtatalunan nak ng pakete oo harharharhar bastat ayusin nalang yan dapat ng sun harharharharhar

Sun Cellular gets Alcatel for 18-M euro network expansion

PARIS--Alcatel SA said it has won a mobile network expansion order from Sun Cellular, a unit of Digital Telecommunications Philippines Inc (Digitel), valued at about 18 million euro.

The order will boost Sun Cellular's network capacity in the metro Manila area, and on the islands of Luzon and Cebu.

Alcatel will supply its Evolium line of mobile equipment, and completion is scheduled for next month

mukhang magiging okay na ba tlga ang service ng sun because of this?

palagay ko naman mas 'di hamak na may katuturan yun kesa sa mga "harhar".
