A big review of Nokia 7250 was posted here:

7250 has 5MB memory... How about it SE?
Posted by sylvester
So?a good phone isn't only memory.

Without picture phonebook features, what's the use of large memory on 7250?? What a waste !!

SE is behind in terms of camera resolution! Sad but true!
Posted by petawer
the nokia 7250 has got 725 kB memory dinamic!!! and the SE T610...2MB
Posted by ynohtna
But with the 65k color vs the 4096 display, the t610 still is ahead than the 7250.And i agree that the memory is useless wo the picture phone directory.I prefer the whole screen 2 the thumbnail of most nokia.Mophun+java(t610) vs java(7250)!feature wise SE WINS!
Posted by fijbert
well.. I dunno
I am getting a 7250 soon enuff..
then I will try the T610 when it comes out and the SX1..
personnally I think the only good Nokia coming out soon is the N-Gage...
7250 loox cool.. but I dunno.. my demands in a phone r just more than Java games and a cam..
but that is where the P800 fails.. in the game department..
show me one awesome game on the P800 that is easy to manipulate..

Huh??? The 7250 and T610 have exactly the same resolution. How can
be 'behind'?

Memory is of a very big importance, even without a picture phonebook. What about all apps, games and other downloads? 2MB is just not enough.
Posted by fijbert
agreed..
I mean, my bgs for my P800 r 2mbs alone
my ringtones r another 2mbs...
I barely hv place for n e thing..
my 7210's memory was filled within one day...
I'm glad that nokia realized that they need more mem..
one of the reasons I switched to SE is cuz they had a lot of mem
Posted by sylvester
I can't understand how some people here compares t610 with phones like p800.T610 isn't a smartphone so 2mb is enough.
Posted by fijbert
I am referring to the P800 only at their bg and ringtones which shows how much space can actually be wasted on such a thing..
not to the fact that I hv all these apps on it..
and even then, I had appz/ringtones/bgs on my 7210 until I cldnt store n e more...
if u r happy with 2mb, hv fun.. I like my 5mb+
Posted by Froddan
I'm comparing it to a cam equipped, java enabled phone, with colorscreen 2megs ain't enough.
Posted by sylvester
5mb? wow!enjoy!I have 512 in my pc.2 is just enough for a phone.
Posted by fijbert
froddan is right.. 2mb is not enuff..
rigntoens+cam pictures+bg pix..
u got place for a total of about 20files...
where do ur apps go?
Posted by Deltayoda
They make PDA's with 1gb of space, and they can't even fit at least a few MB's into a phone? Same size, same crap, better screen and sounds from my IPAQ.
2mb - 5mb, same situation. Not enough space for whatever the hell reason, even with a 3mb difference.
Posted by dave_uk
Fair point but.....
1) You've really go 20mb as standard in a P800, not that bad is it?
2) Try posting this website from your iPAQ, if you catch my drift!
Let's face it, the ultimate Phone/PDA (whatever that may be) is gonna be more in line with SEs latest than any iPAQ. You gotta have phone functionality...... after all,
It's good to talk
Posted by fijbert
P800 has 28mb..
but we r not comparing the P800 to the T610..
3MB is a lot if u think about it..
I mean whole systems used to hv 640k back in the time.. dont compare a phone to a pc or somethin....
Posted by dave_uk
whoa!
28mb? Where's my missing 8mb?
I've only got 4mb on the phone and 16mb on the mem stick. Where's the rest?
Sorry, I know this probably shouldn't be on this thread but as you pointed out, I'm new to this game.
Posted by Citizzen
T610 is obviously better than the 7250 in terms of everything!!
Posted by fijbert
12mb internal, 16mb DUO
12+16=28
u prolly hv the P802.. that comes with only 8mb internal mem
if I'm not mistaken
Posted by Froddan
How come it's ok for t610 to have 2MB memory, but pathetic for 7650 to only have 3,6MB?
They are equally equipped phones. And I'm not saying that 3,6 or 5 is enough, but still that's more than 2.

What do you mean? I have posted on this forum from my IPAQ before without any problems from France. Given that France GPRS sucks big time, it worked great using my T68i and IPAQ combo. Just comparing the size to my Ipaq and T68, it's not that big, and both fit in my pocket. The IPAQ is pretty impressive, even the older models are great too. I'm planning to buy the iPAQ h5450 now that I can (Looks great), since France and Germany are totally BEHIND in this for some odd reason and I couldn't buy it from there
As for SE's P800 PDA/PHONE, it does not impress me one bit anymore. I was impressed before it was out and planned on buying one, but now that I've seen it in person, it sucks.

Why is there so much different informtaion about 7250??? Nokia's website says that it has 725kb memory, another review says 4mb, and now this review says 5 mb! Who is right?????
Posted by Lopio
Posted by kimmjio
Well the nokia website certainly states and I qoute
'The following features share a memory pool of 725 kB
MMS messages (max size 45 kB per MMS message)
Ringing tones in Gallery (20 preset, all removable)
Images (10 preset, all removable)
Java™ applications (3 preset, max download size 64 kB per application)'

@ Froddan
Well, it's pathetic with 3.6MB in the 7650 because that is a smartphone with an OS that can play mp3, videos and install "real" programs. 3.6MB is very little memory on a SymbianOS device. Also the built-in camera in the T610 has about half the resolution of the 7650 and the images will therefore be smaller.
The T610 on the other hand has 2MB, and can't play mp3, videos, or install real "programs". Sure the T610 can install Java apps and Mophun games, but they are generally quite small (compared to SymbianOS programs which are generally much larger).
I think the 2MB in the T610 would be more than enough. Just look at the amount of stuff that is possible to have in a T68i. In my T68 I have 47 pictures, around 30 melodies, 13 MMS and I still have 62kb of memory left. The Mophun games are pretty small so that should be no problems.
I think you guys are driving this memory issue way out of porportion. If the T610 could play videos or mp3 I would agree that 2MB would be too little.

@deltayoda
I think you missed my point...
You would have had difficulty posting anything without your T68i, right? The P800 is a PDA/phone combo (sorry to state the obvious!) and as such is not really comparable to using two separate-purpose devices.
Granted the iPAQ is superior in terms of SW, memory capacity and quantity of available apps, but you have to respect the fact that the P800 is, without doubt, the best single device of it's kind on the market now, previously or in the near future.
Posted by Froddan
@ ppcrockar
7650 is pushed as a multimedia phone, and it couldn't play mp3 or mp4 by default. Those programs were third part, and maybe someone will release something similar to t610, but 2megs...
This memory issue IS important

Ah, I see what you mean now
The p800 to me feels so limited in many ways, but for the price of the P800, I suppose that's reasonable than buying two devices for a $1000.
Posted by ppcrockar
@ Froddan
The T610 most certainly doesn't have enough CPU power to play mp3 or mp4.
Sure more memory than 2MB would be nice (more memory is always nice), but I think 2MB should be good enough when you consider how small the image sizes are and how small the java/mophun apps are.

That logic is flawed..by that reasoning... a PC is only PUSHED as an office machine since WindowsXP cannot handle full word/spreadsheet functions by default w/o installing OfficeXP
The 7650 IS a multimedia device because it has an open OS. It allows installation of APPLICATIONS, not just games/media. Which means, you are ALLOWED to expand the functions of the phone. So 4MB is small for such a device. The 7650 has the same specs (minus the memory) as the 3650... so it shouldn't be classified as a different machine.
The T610 is a phone. It wasn't given a full OS. It is Java.Mophun game enabled...that's all. Any internal MP3/video capabilites that can ever be added will be HACKS or work-arounds...not something the hardware was built to handle. So with the allowed games/photos/ringtones... 2MB is a lot of space. And considering it's a lifestyle (not performance) phone, it can handle a lot.

@all: why would u want to compare the 2 of them?
one glance at a pic with both phones was all it took 4 me...
no harm intended - just kidding, crash...

This is quoted from another thread here on Esato:
"How come MAC users allways have to say macs are better and go on about it? i dont see anywhere on the windows site saying hey all mac users, windows is better... maybe it's because windows dont have to?"
Now you're all probably wondering, what the XXXX has that got to do with anything???
I know, I know, but now change Mac to SE, and Windows to Nokia.
You get the picture? No offence, just a thought of mine.
The t610 is without a doubt a good phone, but it's not perfect and the memory is too small

T610 all the way!!! :-D

7250 has got 5,2mb
i know for sure
Posted by racingboy
yep he's right
greetzzz

That review also says the 7250 doesn't have an email client onboard... This is something I use quite a bit on my T68i, and T610 also supports this.
Posted by thklinge
Ok, Let's get real here:
The SonyEricsson T610 has 2MB of internal memory. The Nokia 7250 has 3,5MB. (The 7650 which is considered a real smartphone has 3,6MB...) NOTE: mobile.burn.com said the phone rapported 5MB free memory, Nokia however does not.
The display on the T610 is 128x160, which equals to 20480 pixels with 65536 colors. The 7250 has 128 x 128 pixels = 16384 with 4096 colors. The math is simple, T610 has a FAR better display.
The T610 camera can take pictures up to 352x288. It features a night-shot function, can use an attaced flash, and has other digital effects like Sephia / Black&White amongst others. The 7250 can take pictures up to 352x288. No digital effects, no flash available. Better camera in Nokia? Not according to the numbers.
The T610 is 102 x 44 x 19 mm = 85cm³ and 95g. The 7250 is 105 x 44 x 19 mm = 88cm³ and 92g. T610 is smaller, but 3g heavier, but then again, the 7250 is made from plastic, not sweet aluminium..
The math is simple. The Nokia has a tad more memory but S U C K S everywhere else! The 7250 doesn't even have Bluetooth!
The T68 changed everything and sent the designers at other mobile manufacturers back to the drawing board for almost a year. Sony Ericsson leaps ahead once again and the others will have to work hard to keep up. Ericsson has been more technically advanced for several years. Screen resolution, they were first with graytones in displays (Nokia have never had a chance against the BW / graytone displays of Ericsson), functions, hell the R520 even used the IR-transmitter/reciever as a distance-measuring device(!!).
-Sources: http://www.sonyericsson.com / http://www.nokia.com / mobile.burn.com / http://www.mobile-review.com.
Now stop nice around. The 7250 doesn't even compare to the T610.
(Nice is supposed to be "f-u-c-k-i-n-g")

the review mainly compares the 7250 against the 7210 and there is a great improvement - clearly if the review directly compared the 7250 against the T610 the T610 would be the winner!
the 13 sec trick cleared enough space for me and my much loved t300
what i am thinking tho is that the t610 has a built in camera and i will take many more pictures
so i want 3MB+
what i really want is built in MP3 and a memory stick slot, would pay extra £100 for that

If you decide on the 7250 you might want to hang on for just a little while longer as apparently Nokia have the 7250i ready to role - it will supposedly support picture caller ID and have a better camera. I think Nokia's US website has the details.
Posted by jojosiscar
i agree. wait for the 7250i. as with regards to an email client, there are tons of java midlets email clients out there. as for memory, i like the compression of it's pictures. when you take a 15k picture, it only eats up 15k of memory (i heard differently on how a t610 stores pictures in which it says it eats up more memory). also, my graphics and polyphonic tones alone occupies about 1.5mb. a 2mb phone would not suffice. the point is, the 7250 has some edge in aspects like available memory for java apps and storage of more pics. what it lacks are the ability to exchange pics via irda, it has no bluetooth, etc...

You guys forgot about the price differens between Nokia 7250 & SE T610 ?? BIGGGGGGG different .. in Sweden a Nokia 7250 coast about 6800:- (kronor) and SE coast about 4000:- (Kronor) !!
About 330 US$ SE T610 cheaper than Nokia 7250 !!!!! Come on guys.. and SE got more high tech than Nokia phones !!!
*Nokia 7250 have 4 096 colors only .. while SE have 65 500 ..
*Nokia 7250 have 4 channels Polophony ringtones while SE have 32
*Nokia 7250 have no built-in blue tooth while SE have it
*Nokia have wap 1.2 while SE have 2.0 since T68i phones
*Nokia got very bad Standby and talktime compare to SE T610 !! This point is very very clear.
*Nokia have very cheap plastic quality in thier 7250 while SE got aluminum chassi
*Nokia got LESS memory than SE, its very clear in thier site you can read about, besides that, SMS, MMS, CALENDER,RINGTONES, PICTURES, NOTICE PAD, etc share that memory !!
I agree when someone here said, to NOT compare Noki 7250 with SE T610 cause it´s simply big different.
Regarding the MEMORY, try to RESET ur phone RESET ALL, you will have more than 2 MB memory, you dont need more than that, cause THEMES take a big place, and even the ringtones, try with the reset and then fill your phone with what you want.
