Now I know why he chose the codename - 'ENERGETIC', the word just fully implies . . . whatever happened to you now, low batt ? Maybe you need some chargin' - baby .

Hey if you wanna chat come to our playtime chit chat thread in garbage We nearly don't talk about playtime there anymore. Because there aren't any. Shame on you mr. tranquil

Posted by energetic
I think is a good idea to have a chat room, its more fun but anyway, its up to u 2 decide!

BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT MANY ESATO USERS WANT A CHAT ROOM!

Am not complaining with the forum way of sharing our point of view.

Why not try and if it doesnt work turn it off.

Posted by Krubach

Ok! Ok! You don't need to shout...
You really are energetic.
I disagree with a chat room 'cause i would get fired.
I already spend too much time on Esato at work.

Posted by Jowi
like the Pinoy chit chat. you can browse/rply on your phone via wap

Posted by floke
@krubach: agree, I'll soon get kicked too
No chat room please

Posted by mixin
In addition to what Jowi said, chatting made in the uk thread and pinoy chitchat gets saved to the database, so people can view back in the history to see whats been said.

What if someone asks a question about a phone in the chat room, and someone gives a very informative answer. Only people in the chat room would get to see the answer, meaning the majority of esato users would miss it

esato has had an irc channel in the past, but it was rarely used and no one ever chatted.
I personally dont see the point of a chat room....
just get peoples MSN/AIM/ICQ addresses and chat to them that way

Posted by Vlammetje
and then some looney drags you into a convo with 15 other esato ppl and you get all confused coz it's going too fast

but it is nice to have a 'private line'

anyway.... i for one do not really need a chat room. All my chatting needs are being catered in the UK thread can't access a chat room from work anyway and can't be bothered from home tbh.

Posted by Sir-SonyEricsson-man
i would go for it... than there would not be so much piss talking ... we could do that on the chat

Posted by "Hacker"
I vote for Esato IRC channel too. Then there will be no such as long posts.

Posted by energetic
Thanks Sonyericsson-man and "Hacker". I believe we can give it a try!

Master of ESATO pls reply and tell us what you are thinking of this idea!

Posted by energetic
Inform us Master of ESATO!

Posted by mixin
why not pm the "master of ESATO" and see if he replies?

Posted by laffen
You are all welcome to start a irc channel. I haven't got the time to do anything about this right now. As MixiN point out, we tried this a year ago, but the channel became very quiet after the first couple of days...

I thought u wanted a wapchat. If i am on a pc i can surf the forum fast and get all the info quick. I'd go4a wap chat. I for ex i never bother with irc even if i am online..a chat INSIDE the forum is nicer.

don't forget the garbage threads...

Posted by mixin
actually, i try to forget them

Posted by energetic
Lets do it then!

Posted by energetic
Shall we start a chat room? It would be nice to have one when the posts are not so interesting.(sometimes)

At the end of the day I start to believe am the only one one who wants one!

:P:P:P:P

Posted by mixin
probably a reason why we dont need one.

Posted by RMskater
But think of this particular occurance. Someone gives really GREAT advice on how to use or do something. Then, a few minutes, hours or even seconds later, a person who really could have used that info joins Esato, well, they just missed out big time!

Of course, if we posted the important parts of the chat session (logged it) on a specific topic, then this might work out.

Well am still wondering if laffen will do something about it.

Am really looking forward for it.

Posted by masseur
well laffen did say...

but I am not sure how you would do that yourself.

It does seem that there is little interest though?

Posted by Jim
Maybe because IRC s**ks, a php/mysql based chat room would be better

Posted by energetic
@masseur

I think we could give it a try for a month but the way jim suggests!

If it doesnt work then you can stop it.

Can you suggest to laffen to put on the next Esato poll the following:
"Who wants a chat room to be created?" or similar.

Then everybody can vote and laffen can get a more clear picture regarding this subject.

Posted by Jim
Yeah but then on a different server ( a free one ) so we will not use bandwitch of esato. I may try to make one on a lycos server.

Posted by sn3ipen
I think the chatrooom could have been a good idea.

Posted by mwright
If anyone wants to play - I will open up my WAP chatroom for a couple of days.

Try http://wap.one-web.com/cgi-bin/chat.pl

Posted by floke
But it was very quiet there though it was a nice wap-chat

Posted by Johnex
Why not have a tagboard? Everything is stored in the database, and could be adapted for wap.

Posted by mwright
Only 1 taker!

OK - I will leave it open for another 48 hours

Posted by Deanlambert
I think it could be a good idea. Might but down on useless posts on here.

Posted by sn3ipen
Why dont we make this thread to a oficial chit chat thread.

Posted by mwright
On wap you cannot easily get back to where you were, or to the end. Can you?

Posted by Deanlambert
Speedooh, good idea, but don't we have loads of them?

Posted by sn3ipen
That is corect.

Posted by Deanlambert
So what would be different with this one compared to all the others.

Posted by sn3ipen
Its not in the garbage thread.

Posted by mwright
If I can find a simple tagboard I might have a try!

Posted by Jim
go to www.hotscripts.com in the PHP scripts part you will find alot of tagboard

Posted by Deanlambert
This garbage thread you keep going on about. I posted the message from wap, as far as i'm concerned i went to garbage. Anyway, if it went in general would it matter? It's gone in an option nothing to do with mobiles

Posted by sn3ipen
You cant start a new thread in garbage thread because it is only a thread for the moderators to put threads that is garbage.

Posted by Deanlambert
Like mine?

You can also vote here for the chat room

Right, I've created a java chat room here (sorry, wappers):

http://www.notdavidbailey.com/esato_chat.html

It took me about 15 minutes to create, and as such I've paid no attention to the design aspect of the page whatsoever! If people use it, I'll come up with a decent design and maybe even add more rooms.

It's based on a free chat room applet and as such, there is a single pop-under window that appears when you enter the room. There's nothing I can do about it, because I'm certainly not prepared to pay for the add free version just yet. Again, if it takes off, this could be a possibility.

Well, it's 7.11 pm GMT and the chatroom is not available! Could this be due to high volumes of visitors?

Probably not, more likely my crappy host lol

Posted by Jim
Can't access it, crapy host

Posted by Cycovision
@Jim

Think positive! I prefer to assume it's down to server overload caused by too many visitors
