It would be an advantage to us users who may have questions which could be answered so real time. It may be a nice feature for the site. An advantage of only having the threads is that we could get to read back on answers which had already been given due to the historical nature of a forum. A chat room does not have that feature. Members already use the threads to chat about already anyways.

Why not create an IRC-channel on one af the major nets? Just as a test.. that wouldn´t draw bandwidth and attract DOS-attacks on Esatos site.

Yeah I think it is a good idea having a chat room like in IRC or other real time chat room. Think Esato can provide us a java chatty room so we can get together and communicate in real time rather than wait for the threads to be updated.

sounds good for finding quick answers. or just chatting with your fellow esato users.
but if threads are used to answer your questions, they'll be there forever (or at least until they are deleted, or something happens to the data) and anyone can look back at it for reference.

I believe that a chat room is a "must have" for a site like esato.
Still no responce from the moderators and am asking them if its so hard to create one, why you dont inform the esato users what is needed to create one!
I believe, we can also, as esato users can help you guys.

its down to laffen to do this as we moderators only moderate these threads and don't have access to add functionality.
but when you look at threads like the thread for UK users II and pinoy chit chat etc, they are all chat so whats wrong with doing it that way?
