nothing even comes close. not cheap but definitely worth every damned cent!

It does have serious flaws, but overall its an incredible piece of kit.

The way it transcends personal / business use is really very good. One minute I'm testing email servers and running vnc, the next im on level 2-2 of super mario 1 in the pub having sent an mms from the camera.

Very nice indeed.

Now if they'd only do a shortcut from the flip on mode to sms and put t9 in id be 99% happy.

I'm very happy with my P800. Just waiting for the damn 128MB Duos to come out. Saving up for more apps... and waiting for more to come out. The winners of the Code to Cash contest look great... can't wait for those to be available for download... and I'm still waiting for SE to release their video capture app for it. It's supposed to be out by April... oh well... at least in time for the 128MB Duo.

Right now... the only thing 'slowing down' my P800 in terms of functionality is the lack of apps... as many as there are... (I have all of them on my PC already ) I still want more...MORE... MORE!!!!! hehehehe

Handy Day and World Time are pretty useful. I don't think they're worth $20 each though. $10 maybe. I don't think any P800 app should be sold more than $10..but then that's just me.

Well honest opinion and I might get flamed for it...... It's the best smart phone out there, nothing come close to it, you'll get the WOW when ever you show it.

But frankly speaking USD 700+ is very much for a mobile phone regardless of it's capability, you can even get a laptop with that amount of money, for me I didn't regret buying it for a second, so if you have the cash run for it, but if you'll need to dig deep into your pocket, I think it's better to find other phone which suits you and answers your needs for less money.

Whats this all about...someone please explain.....are these like programs for the p800 which you are supposed to buy? if yes where are these bought from? who sells them SE???

Well as mentioned this is a state of the art tech. in this phone also it is user friendly and all in all works wery well ...
as jplacson mentioned above were still missing some apps and biger msDuos... and the build qualiti for such an expencive phone realy shoud be better (used plastic is not hi quality)
also im wayting for ALS (line 2) and sms delivery report in next firmware...

but in the end i am pleased with the phone and i woud go and bought it aGAIN

Absolutely delighted with it. It's not perfect but it's the most useful, most impressive and most advanced piece of technology I've owned for years.

I was expecting to buy the P800 on or around the date I joined this forum ( see left for date).

I eventually got it a week last Friday which is about 6 months waiting

Because of the wait I expected it to be a MASSIVE anticlimax

It is not an anticlimax at all

The phone far exceeds my expectations

Posted by Andy_P
change your piccy then!

Posted by nigelot1
thanks I wondered what that was for!

I agree, i expected a lot more..... but am still happy with it....

I bet it must be dissapointing to find out that the phone does not support 3g !

Posted by lazarini
not really ...

Posted by LukeUK
Er, no. Despite all the hoo-ha about 3G, the amount of money the 3G folks paid for those spectrum licenses tells me that it's going to be super, super expensive to get onto 3G, at least for the next while.

Posted by mL~
so what do you expect it to be? for a price that high. do you think it's price is justifiable? what do you think would make the p800 better?

Posted by Anuj
Yes all thats fine but still you guys thought you had the most advanced piece of kit on this planet ......but im afraid its not...it should support 3g i think whatever the pros and cons.

Posted by Coramoor
Who cares about 3g?
I won't be out for at least a couple of years!
And I will not have the p800 by then.
The sequel to the p800 wil most likely be in my hands. Perhaps even the sequel of the sequel.

3g would only have made the phone more expensive and maybe even bigger...

I dnt hav it yet, but wen the time comes il be vry hapy w/ it!

My first day with the P800 was not very pretty, to the point that i wanted to sell it, post haste. Fortunately i did not sell it. Just took me a while to get used to the phone (jog dial and all) and now, it's part of my essential tools. And yeah, you can say i'm happy with my new phone.

Well... I have 3 gripes, which I wish they did differently for the price of the P800:

1) 16-bit transreflective screen w/ light sensor so the thing wouldn't turn on the backlight if it was in broad daylight

2) I wish they could've made the P800 thinner... 1" is a bit too fat for me.

3) MINERAL GRAY COVER!!! Or something other than baby blue!!!!

I am very happy with mine! And selling my iPaq, T68i and accessories pretty much paid for it...

So far, I can do pretty much anything that I was doing with an iPaq and T68i, but it fits in my pocket! I coulndn't carry the both of them in a pocket at the same time...

3g? no thanks!
until 2005 it will be too expensive for average people to afford.
what does 3g have that p800 doesnt? video phone? would like to see how it works!
in slovenia, you will have to pay 60 EUR for 3g subscription only !

definitely! im happy & contented with my P800

It is great, allthough I miss the Ericsson typical YES and NO buttons and SMS delivery reports. Looks cool and doesn't disturb in a pocket. It's not a brick! The screen-use with the pencil is great.
I gave 466 € with a Vodafone contract of 12 months and am very happy with that. It's worth it.

Posted by jplacson
£466 with contract???? That's quite expensive!

Im really happy with my P800, the only problem so far is the "C" & "Back" button that isnt so responsive when the flip is closed.

But that problem isnt that big, Im really happy to have a great email app with me all the time

I used Palm m515 and Simens S55 and that was a good combination, but the P800 takes less room in my pocket

I heard that you can access the bluetooth internet through p800, but that there is a problem with showing frames
My question
Does it open up ESATO.com correctly
