I've always wondered about this but never really tried to find the answer.

Where does the word 'Esato' come from?
What does it mean?

Perhaps one of our moderators would be gracious enough to shed some light on this.

Thanks people.

just a name.. but still why esato?! seems weird...

Posted by neilgoth
I read it in a thread before,it's an acronym spelled backwards it means Only Take A Sony Ericsson :-D

Posted by dazbradbury
Is that the actual reason? or something someone has made up?

Posted by neilgoth
Possibly, can't remember the specific thread but it was similar to this thread's title. Closest thing so far..... :-)

Posted by Eamonn
No, someone made that up..

I always thought it meant Over The Air Sony Ericsson..

Esato means:
The place to get all you need for your products.

It's funny how this Q comes up with regular intervalls. According to Laffen it is just a word that, to his knowldge, don't mean anything in any language. It' just sounds good and it's easy to say in most languages.

Okay but for a long time I've been wondering how the word is pronounced. Is the "E" supposed to be pronounced as

EE-sato
like 'equal' sound...

or

Eh-sato
like 'elder' sounds.

And the 'sato' part is pronounced like 'gato', spanish wour for cat, right?

I've really want to know! - Thanks

before ESATO started, it doesn't really stand for anything. According to Laffen, it's just a word he made up by himself.

Now, one of the accepted definitions for ESATO is Only Trust A Sony Ericsson (initials in reverse.)

Try the SEARCH function, you'll find several threads about it.
