Well, if we do that a lot of newbies would feel unwelcome.
What else do you suppose can we do about it?
a) Post to state the it is being discussed or has been discussed already. Please search for it.
b) Post the URL of the discussion thread?
c) ... ?

Well if its their first time, tell them to seach and check in future.
If its happening constantly then maybe hava a mod close the thread??
What do you think?

Well, I usually ask them to use the "search-function", and/or give a link to a similar topic, and then close the thread.

I think maybe when they sign up they should ask them to use the search options before placing a post...

I'm sorry to say that some of the "oldies" here can behave quite arrogant to the newbees sometimes. It's not allways that easy to find all the answers even if you search. Personally I've been using Esato since I bought my phone early in november. Still, I didn't join the forum before March. When I wrote my first comments in the forum, some of the "oldies" saw that I was "new" and gave some quite rued answers -even though I actually had read almost everything written for several months and knew what I was talking about.
There is NO such thing as stupid questions -just stupid answers

@ervil, that generalization is about rudeness is most unfair. Personally, i dont care if the poster is a newbie or not but the old ones kinda gets tired of answering the SAME question which is just being asked in a different manner.

Btw, i admit that there may be some oldies who may sound rude at times but there are also newbies guilty of the same. Welcome to esato and enjoy your stay. :-)

Thanks....well...i hope the 'seniors' will be a little more patience with the newbies. Afterall, there's a reason why we are called newbies.
Cheers!
p.s Anyone from Singapore?

@Redwings,
being a newbie should not be an excuse to clutter the forum with redundant questions.
i already saw a lot of users from Singapore. Roberto is a Filipino who works there, and he's hoping to organize an EB for
users
