what exactly do i get charged for?

it works!

Orange Access Pack is for WAP use only and subject to fair use policy of 10MB.

Posted by gadgetboytom
so what exactly is termed as wap? can i view xhtml?

Posted by Black Cat
if the dial up number is for orange wap, it is included in your 10mb/month

Posted by gadgetboytom
i have the gprs access pack

Posted by Black Cat
it still only gives wap access over gprs i'm afraid. if it's not something you could have seen with orange dial up wap, you're not going to get it for free with the access pack.

so just wml?

what if i go to esato and use the xhtml forum?

Posted by wapchimp
I view xhtml on my t68-as long as you use the orange gprs or dial-up number wap settingß it should come out of ur bundle-be careful though

Posted by gadgetboytom
ok so stick to wml then?

the guy on 156 said if i go out of what they term wap (which wasnt made clear) i get it taken off my gprs bundle

i might cancel the access pack ang get more gprs

I have the access pack - I also have my xhtml wap site - wapchimp - this is taken from my access pack & I am not charged for viewing it - I dont think the wap gateway will know when you view a web site though - I can clarify this on the 5th of March - cos I had my sim in an SPV & went html browsing on it via gprs - so wait n see

last night I was singing the praises for Orange(UK) but this thread has made me think a little, I also showed interest in WAP over GPRS, and was told, yeah you need to go for the access, pack, which is apparently free for 3 months, but when I asked what was and what was not covered, I was NOT given any clear answer, they also did not know if orange would contact me in 3 months to remind me that it was gonna start costing me.

I was told that if I try to access a site/service not covered under the free access pack thing, that they would contact me and let me know???

So what's gonna happen there? will they break the communication and send me a txt?

Orange customer service are on the whole VERY GOOD, however with this particular situation, I just got the feeling that the lady was trying to hold something back - maybe its the paranioa kicking in again.

you cant use your access pack for anything other than wap.
if you try to access normal web sites it normally comes up "your client is not allowed access" or words to that effect.if i am totally wrong let me know
does anyone know if you wap browes using a palm linked to phone or p800 if you see anything more or better via wap
as an aside sent an email to orange re p800 and if they were planning on doing a fixed rate interent access for browsing as per spv.
they sent back a nice but meaningless reply
