How to use a T300 as a cable GPRS modem?

And now...the big question!

Does anyone know how to setup the T300 GPRS modem using the USB data cable (no infrared) on winXP?

I mean:
- does anyone have the drivers for the USB cable?
- is it really true that the T300 modem will only work through the ir port?

any help will be appreciated.

thanx!

If you download the SE Communication suite it lets you use GPRS over a cable. Download it from the support area of the SE website
(for T300)

Do i use the same program for the ir?

OK...no replies from someone who have really tried it?

- within the SE software packages you will only find IR drivers for the T300(I,ve downloaded all the packages from their site).
- I haven't found anything else suitable, either in other sites (I've got a MobileAction-like cable, but only "handset manager" works, no cable modem drivers...)

any more hints?
Let me know

My friend has a t68m(i) and he bought a comunication cable with software(it include) and he register his phone as a new modem (t68 gprs modem) and he phone at special ntmber which u can look up in your mobile operator and then you will be connected to internet i think this way can be used on your phone too

T68/T68i drivers are not working with T300, I've already tried...

AFAIK, the t68 has a modem built-in the t300 doesn't, thats why your speed on a t300 is controled by the carrier...

I was told it does actually HAVE an internal modem, but it is only accessible via IR.

Hey, Gizmo, I got the same problem with T300 as a GPRS modem, but with a Serial cable.
I found some ideas, that one has to use some standard low-bps modems.
I gonna try it today.
If you find some solution, please, share it to everybody, or e-mail me please (d_o_ivanov@mail.ru)

The T68i DOES at least work both with standard serial modem drivers (windows: "standard 28800bps modem" over a serial cable), AND it does work with the standard IR modem drivers on my old Psion Series 5 palmtop. It wouldn't surprise me if the T300 can do the same thing.

You can use GPRS on both. Just enter *99# as the number to your ISP in the connection settings and the phone's standard GPRS account will connect.

I an sorry to tell you that you only can use ir for the T300 modem. I went through this a long time ago.

This message was posted from a T300

Do you know if it accepts only the Ericsson proprietary drivers or if it can work as a "standard IR modem" ?

try using t200 modem drivers and set the modem at 9600 bps

I use my T300 with my laptop.
I use it as standard modem over IR, for both GPRS and CSD
