The LG G3 is probably the worst kept secret in the world of smartphones. It has been leaked left, right and centre almost every other day now. What we don't know about it ahead of the official announcement on the 27/05/14 isn't worth knowing. The design is very similar to last years model but with a bump in screen size now a 5.5" and a QHD display, a slightly quicker CPU a Qualcomm SD 801 and a slight re-design of the rear mounted volume rocker and camera launcher.

the specs are a worthy upgrade more evolution than revolution but that has been the theme with all flagships launched in 2014.

They are some very impressive specs indeed however there do seem to be a few things missing from the spec sheet such as a micro SD card slot (32GB internal storage), no 4K video recording and no increase in camera MP count but it does have OIS+. The one big concern for me is a larger, much higher resolution display but no increase in battery capacity still 3000mAh, sure the G2 had great battery performance so lets hope LG haven't made a clanger with this one.

The LG G2 was praised all over the world and I'm sure the same will happen for the LG G3 but apart from the QHD display it doesn't have any other stand out feature the other top end flagships from Sony, Samsung and HTC to name a few haven't already got.

Question to any current LG G2 users. Would you swap your G2 for a G3 or something else currently on the market or even wait for the G4 ?

The LG G2 using GSMarena's battery test scored a very impressive 81 hours endurance rating running KitKat 4.4 with a 3000mAh battery. The G3 with a larger display 5.2" vs 5.5" and a much higher resolution 1920 x 1080 vs 2560 x 1440 that's 424 PPI vs 538 PPI but no increase in battery capacity. Surely the G3 even with a slightly more energy efficient CPU SD 800 vs SD 801 can't achieve that level of endurance, if they do pull it off then well don LG, very well done
