Please tell us what "revolutionary" functionalities you see.

Functionality wise, basicaly the same. It's how it works with almost every app out of the box (notifications). Plus, they need to do something design wise, not software wise. The SW2, IMO, looks way better than the G Watch and the Gear family, but it's still behind Moto 360 design.

Btw, when I said that everyone wants the Moto 360, it is the people who want a smart watch. Those who want, are looking forward to it.

For me sony smartwatch looks better. I just don't get it why people like those nanny/granny age circular design! Too old for my liking

Posted by Felimenta97
@AbhilD999 Yeah, it's a matter of taste. But that's what most people like, right? And that's what sells. And I'm not old at all lol

@everyone Sorry, I exagerated a lot. But, all in all, Sony still needs to do something really good to beat the whole Moto 360 hype.

I think Sony decision is right, as far as situation goes

Take this cue

Today market 1/4 devices in Android-sphere ready to work with Android Wear, only Android 4.3 / Android 4.4
http://www.phonearena.com/new[....]s-support-Android-Wear_id57640

I don't know if Google would expand more in coming months but it seem not until 2015 at least
Android Wear currently has 3 makers (LG, Sam, Moto + few others vow to join probably Asus / HTC)

Definitely not a solid chance for Sony to compete in right now, even do not count of indirect other competitors.

-------------------------------------------------

And also this one, Snapdragon 400 actually inside those Android Wear but worth to read
http://www.phonearena.com/new[....]mited-to-just-one-core_id57697

Sony would worth to wait chipset specially design ultra-low power for these smartwatch. Those SD400 in Android Wear, I personally think probably a chipset that fail in process of manufacturing and can't work in quad-core setup as it intend to

Anyway, QCOM vow to step-in this market already

///////////////////////////

For me, Android Wear is totally below par from what I'd expect new line of product coming from Google 2014
I would rather wait and see Apple iWatch and hope it can be sync with iPad in Health app instead.

I like the idea of the smart watch but found no use for me at the moment.
Apple will wait with the launch until it can fully sync with iPod/Pad/phone/Mac.
Maverick release this fall is all about syncing devices.

Will we see a global release of Z3 compact?

Posted by Tejstar
First pictures of the Xperia Z3 have leaked on Xperia Blog.

Posted by Detox

As you can see from the pictures below, the design language looks very similar to the Xperia Z2.

Indeed, quadruple OmniBalance, someone cheered too soon... The stereo speakers are positioned in almost the center of each bezel, like in the front panel leak a couple days ago.

I'm very disappointed, basically the same specs and same design, dafuq is this

Posted by nodarsixar
I like...................

but, it isn't real Z3, it's fake.......

Posted by -XYZ
Model number is L55t...

If it's actually The Z3 shouldn't it be D67xx or something....

Seems like a different market Z2

Posted by Detox
@-XYZ:

This is the Chinese version with model number L55t, which follows on from the Xperia Z2 (L50t).

International version will be something between D660X and D690X.

Second leak of the same design. looks like z3 to me.

Posted by -XYZ
I'm still waiting to see the official release.
There can be any number of functioning prototypes, and until I see pictures of the device that aren't taken in really low light, or with shitty quality, then I'm not buying into them.

Someone is going to be in a lot of trouble!!! Just like that kid who leaked his parent's M8.

I think, this is z3 compact or z3 ultra! ??????????????????

Posted by maiaramdan
the Original ZL was the best ever phone front view
i still like it and i have it with the Z

just near i got Z1 compact and nothing else
Z Ultra was made to be killed from the beginning even with the amazing touch tech. but no powerful programs to support
and Z1 oh. i don't want to remember the brilliant Z1 design inside the lap the my friend described to me, and after this my shock with the real failure design

hope Z3 really have the previous nominated Z1 design or even better
i hope i will not be shocked again with a bland soul less design

Posted by nodarsixar
Xperia Z3 = Pegasus
Xperia Z3 Compact = Aries

and

Leo = Xperia Z3 Ultra? Xperia Tab? Xperia Z3 Prime? or other Z3 version?

Guys 2 reasons why it's a fake.

1. Look at the imei number at the back it's actually a Xperia Z C6603 http://www.imei.info/?imei=004402452554714

2. Look closely at the rear camera notice that the black around it is a shade lighter than the rest of the phone which leads me to believe it's actually a Xperia Z with the 20mp camera photo shopped at the back.

CONCLUSION.... Photo shopped Xperia Z C6603

wow, amazing....................

Compared with Z2 the differences I see are: 1. speaker placement 2. absence of metal frame and a stick out power button 3. possibly slightly smaller footprint 4. there's no text written next to the camera 5. white front for white version

Looks like Sony designers where inspired by Nokia Lumia 925 design

I think that is really z3 compact not z3 because it looks small IMO

Posted by amirprog
So my sense was right. the first leaked pics looked real enough... by looking at his hand size these higher res pics show only z3c. i also expected "entirely new design" for z3c. but on the other hand this looks to be slightly improved omnibalance over z1c. let wait for z3 full design. maybe z3 will carry s805 as opposed to this z3c pics that confirm s801?

Nothing exciting, only an evolution.

Now where is that small tablet....

Posted by motvikt
Can someone calculate the size with the magnetic charger port as reference? I think it looks a little small

Posted by Detox
And there it is, the change in design, just an evolution, kinda expected. Better than nothing, but not sure if gusta. But either that guy has giant hands or this is the Z3 Compact.

The platform should be the same, so not that likely.

Posted by MartenR
It is queit similar to Xperia A2:

Using the image of the rear here of the camera,

http://tieba.baidu.com/p/3158823335

as a rough guide and assuming the camera sensor unit size is the same as my Z1, the diameter of the silver ring is 8mm, and at around 46px then measuring the full side to side distance yields roughly 350px which is around 60mm. This is not 100% accurate since the angle of the photo is not 100% straight on, so there will be a large margin of error, but as you mentioned it seems to be too small to be the full sized Z3, more z3c territory.

@motvikt

using the magnetic port image I can give you these estimates, my Z1 magport is 20mm long. 78px on the image, and full length of the device is 565ish to 570px or 144mm to 146mm, yet again these are estimate, and one can see the device would be thinner than the Z1c yet 20mm longer almost. 146mm seems to be more in line with the Z2 size, so perhaps one of the measurements is wrong.

again none of these measurements are true, just estimates, and rough ones at best.

Maybe I did the calculations wrong, but only the magnetic port image is most directly on where as the rear camera photo is at an angle and will affect the measurements.

I also superimposed the side views with the port of Z2 and Z1c onto the image and made some observations. The flaps on the Z1c are almost way out to the edges and it has both flaps on one side, with no flaps on the side with the power and volume keys, I would imagine sony would continue this on the Z3c. but who knows. Also the shutter button seems rather large when compared to the rest of the body, just like the Z2, where the Z1c has a much smaller key.

Just my observations, I feel this is the Z3, and sony was someone able to minimize it's dimensions quite well or the person has big hands. But then holding my z1 in my hands and looking at the photos, it takes up as much space on the person's hand as in mine and I do not have large hands.

@ascariss

Awesome. I guess this is the regular z3 then. I really hope Sony wont make z3c bigger than z1c

Posted by vivftp
So just to clarify, how certain are we that this is Z3 and not some other phone?

Posted by winnerzero
Cant wait for the sw3... Im invested in the sw2 so i hope theres some sort of backwards compatibility...

Posted by Detox
@motvikt: That's what I'm hoping too. DooMLoRD tweeted "size same as Z1 Compact, but bigger display & smaller bezel" as well, let's see...

You've got to be kidding me.

Xperia Z3 sized up against the Galaxy Note

Posted by ascariss
Well so I was close with my length estimation of 146mm

Disappointed in the size, guess best to wait for Z3c to see how big that is.

Posted by jeff17
About the same size as Galaxy Note 1.
GN1 has 5.3in screen.
Looks like the Iphone concept.with its black rubber looking lines. and the speakers also looks like frim Iphone

Posted by amirprog
@ascariss
I'm starting to think he got both z3 and z3c so some pics are z3 and some z3c. anyway, i'll judge the design when we know for sure which is z3 and z3c.
@itsjustJOH
I don't see any surprise in that size comparison considering sony's design language and the rumors. z4 may be even taller in dimensions then note 3 assuming it will most likely carry 5.5" QHD display, unless sony change their design language entirely and build fat phone with all slim bezels (top, bottom, sides) like g3.

You might be correct, the 60mm width of one of the images didn't match the z2 for sure and was more Z1c in size.

Posted by maiaramdan
what's new in dimension
the Z2 is already 146.8 tall which is approximately the same as 146.9 for the note

Posted by kurtdean
^ nothing new just the side bezels getting smaller and perhaps the body will be thinner

Posted by vivftp
I dunno, things like the crappier notification Led, the supposed relocation of the speaker to the side.... things like that make me wonder if this isn't an early prototype or some other phone. They seem like steps backwards in flagship design.

Can anyone here confirm this is Z3 using alternate sources?

Posted by XperiaCute
^^
device sport latest stable android build Kitkat 4.4.4, which give a hint it's relatively modern build

I wish it's not Xperia Z3 that we were looking for ..
