Lets not get Offtopic I guess there´s a thread somewhere around the Forum for that kind of talk

What do you mean release? Do you mean specifically in May? Or for the 'S5' (quotes are for a reason as it could be another unknown upstream device)... I would give it a much higher chance than 0%.. they WILL NOT let Apple (whose processors they create) have such a large reference over them, being 64bit. They have worked far too hard to chip away at market share to produce something they cannot themselves implement. We will see it could be another Exy 5410 though. If I was sammy i wold work on LTE on my SoC..

News from xda/Doomlord regarding the battery.
Battery apparently will be 3300 mAh.
Sounds ok!

Indeed that sounds very good!
I checked some other phones.

Xperia Z Ultra Wi-Fi Edition goes official in Japan

Comes with 4.2 on board... But with the Smart Camera apps, that the Z Ultra only got on 4.3? O.o

Posted by maloqs
Strange....the e postel website does not stated D6603 yet...possibly benchmark is a bogus?
Anyway, until now we know about D6503 but still D2303 and SGP521 are still unknown...

I'm shocked you've kept that awful S4 of yours for so long, Xajel!

WRT S5, I read somewhere that LTE may not be an issue with the Exynos 6,so, maybe we will see a situation like the S3, where the European, Middle-Eastern, and Asia-Pacific regions get the Exynos and then the Americas get Qualcomm due to their LTE bands.

Believe me If it was my choice I'll be having Z long time ago !! the carrier lost the original Samsung guarantee papers, so they offered their warranty instead... almost the same.. but the fact nobody want the phone now when they hear the warranty isn't from Samsung but from the carrier... I tried selling it or trade it with Z about 4 - 5 times but no luck !!, the warranty will finish already in few days.. I thought I should sell it directly but now after Sirius.. well I'm waiting for it first

Regarding the S3, in Middle East we had only the 3G ( Exynos version ) in the beginning... only lately when S4 arrived, the 4G version of S3 came also but with Snapdragon SoC not Exynos... it was like a low cost LTE solution compared to S4, HTC One & Z LTE at that time as the only LTE enabled devices in the region...

It's the Z1. the picture just make it look a bit different.
@CrownedAkuma
and 3300mAh battery instead of 3000mAh. can't hurt.

This is exactly how Z1 looks in real life if you think out of the box and the stupid bezel trash that everyone whithout thinking keep repeating!

Posted by vikeviki
Indeed its a stupid bezel trash and i do felt the same....just accept it brother

Posted by my ninja
As far as the bezel, Sony brought attention to it with the ZL.. it is their own doing by failing to follow through, and allowing other companies to exceed their progress. waterproofing shouldnt be a valid excuse. they are being as honest as they can be, by telling us through their production that they value a smaller 'z-axis' value (thinner device) as opposed to smaller bezels, someone spreading that its easier to hold is FUD which doesnt come from Sony. if it was simple to engineer both, they would.

You should always mark sarcasm on the internet, its extremely difficult to spot.

A quantity.
I'm personally more interested in the number of PS4's they managed.

I mean there wont be any 20 nm products in the first half of 2014. Even Nvidia and their desktop GPU (Maxwell) is being released with 28 nm. Same with Cortex A15 version of Tegra K1, it is also 28nm

As for not letting Apple have such a large reference over Samsung, i would argue Apple has had that for the past 2 years now while Samsungs Exynos chips have been a fiasco. Samsung does not create Apples processors, they manufacture them. Wich is going to change since Apple is switching to TSMC for 20nm A8 chip

So what im saying if Samsung releases a 64 bit chip, it wont be 20nm and it will most likely still be in small quantity. Both S5 and Note 3 will use some kind of Qualcomm chip

SD 805 is still competitive if Sony chooses to use it

Posted by Gitaroo
When is the tegra K1 being ready for mass production? Q4?

Posted by Wintermute
Which version? I think the quad-A15 version will be ready towards the end of H1, and Denver will come sometime in H2.

3 things i'm mostly curious to know about the retail version of sirius: how the camera performs in low light, how good is the IPS display and are sony continuing to use shatter film.

I'm satisfied with everything now except the shatterproof film, that sucks up more oil than tissue.

Posted by amirprog
@itsjustJOH
hehe, yeah, plus, it's very sensitive to scratches, it's feels better to operate with the glass itself, and some people say it messes with the display visibility. they really need to ditch it. all it needs is the latest corning gorilla glass with all its features including oleophobic coating.

What baffles me is how discussions about Sony's financial results always come up in this thread. They have absolutely NOTHING to do with rumours.

No rumours? No discussions. Simple!

I sound like a whining child but my goodness, I think a high percentage of posts here are off topic. Its one thread I follow, lets keep it on track. Pretty please?

* Yes I realise by posting this I am now guilty! oops.

Just got some interesting details on pricing of Sirius. It is supposed to be priced lower than Z1 when it first released because it is not the next flagship. A much better Z1. Rumored prices are £479, €549 and $ 550 unlocked.
The Z1 successor later this year will have a premium price tag.

That's like 100€ cheaper than Z1 was at first, if I remember correctly, right?

- There are rumors of Samsung skipping a fab node for this very reason. Nvidia is usually behind TSMC (also having trouble with 20nm (rumors)) in fabrication nodes regardless they (NV) are a poor reference.

- Except Samsung manufactures and will continue to manufacture 40% of Apples A7/8/9 (the contract was renewed through the A9) http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20131218PD207.html in order to produce at the 14/16nm by the end of next year if they are stuck at 28nm now, they are in for a very bad time..

- Samsung will force out an aborted chip like they have for the past few years, that meets these conditions but cant outperform lesser specced SoCs for some arbitrary reason.. it is my hope that this year that they succeed.

- S805 will be competitive because of Legacy and LTE (software support is mature for the SoC) check out Qs demonstrations, pretty cool stuff. But at 28nm and ARMv7.1 it may not be enough IF these other companies seize the opportunity.

Qualcomm may have been caught napping with their re-use of Krait, but they are so far ahead of everyone else that, at least until we get more details about Denver K1, IMO, the only player capable of challenging them will be Intel. They're a little behind too, but their mobile designs are catching up fast. I think as soon as they can solve their graphics problem, their SoCs are going to start looking very attractive. I think Samsung is out of their league. Personally, I'm hoping that Denver lives up to the hype and gets some wins.
