They have even added support for noise cancellation headsets! Maybe, they have even added a proper DAC?

Its good to see Sony implementing more software/apps that are actually 'useful'. Take note, Samsung. I lost count as to how many things are on the, s4 as an example, that I would never even think of using.

Interesting stuff from this new phone! What's even more interesting is that Doomlord posted he doesn't think this device is the new flagship, and that the new flagship will be even better! Holy crap if true!

http://forum.xda-developers.c[....]t.php?p=49609774&postcount=163

If the new flagship has all of these features and even more, I'm gonna faint If the new Ultra phone has all the same features as the new flagship, then I'll wet my pants with glee and pick it up ASAP!

Is he hinting at Magnetic Fluid speaker(s) or just dual speakers?

Yes, this is not the true flagship. You can tell by the name of it: i1-2 (with Z1 being i1). This is just an incremental upgrade to keep the line fresh for the first half. About noise-cancelling, there's going to be a new DNC headphone announced along with this. Currently, there will only be 1 new handset for MWC, and 2 other will be T2 and E1 that just got announced recently. Wireless charging accessories for this device will also be announced. T2 will also be getting some interesting accessories.

The new flagship will use snapdragon 805 -CONFIRM. Perhaps SIRIUS is not z2 and it will be called z1+ or other names

Can I take it then that the new flagship will not be shown at MWC or soon after? Are we expecting the true flagship to remain hidden until IFA?

Posted by vikeviki
Unknown13x clearly mentioned

He said its just to keep the momentum for next 6 months,so later a new flagship will be release at IFA...

Posted by maloqs
D6603 not in mwc?

Posted by vivftp
Hmm, I wonder if any of the improvements on this device will find their way onto the next Ultra. Or even if the next Ultra might have the same features as the even later flagship. Can't wait to see what's in store

Flip phone over to block or hang up, thats was from note 2/s3. To be honesy samsung is way ahead when it comes to motion control.

I'm not talking bout that. I find them gimmicky and nothing more.

Talking about things like double tap to wake, power management , accessory management, the practical things that actually work properly and make a difference (to me)

Posted by vivftp
Indeed the list of features being tossed around for this leaked device have me giddy as they're ticking off most of the items on my wish list. Stereo front facing speakers is a HUGE deal which I look forward to testing out. Wireless charging abilities is great, even if it comes from a case accessory. Glove mode and floating touch were features I was hoping would make a return on Xperia devices. Double tap to wake on... oh how I wish my Z Ultra had that. 4K and high speed camera functions - can't wait to play around with those. IPS display - w00t!

I would expect this phones camera to also have improved software, and hopefully a new JPEG algorithm, producing even more outstanding results than the Z1 as it is today.

If this device isn't this years flagship then I can only hope that device adds a xenon flash and an IR blaster (which may or may not be on this device) and we're set to go! It would be nice if they would finally find a way to give up the shatterproof sheets and still maintain the durability of the device.

+1

Which is very nice, I remember awhile ago I was doubting on how Hi-res audio will be put on a phone in just using standard jack and headphones. Glad to see Sony went ahead and put proper output through USB DAC amp.

I'm a little bit late on the leaks, but it seems Sirius, has gotten serious Wonder what the flagship will be?

oh, its all subjective, not everyone find double tap to wake screen useful neither. Flip phone to block calls is actually more useful for me than I would have though, glad similar gimmics made it to the xperia lines. Now Sony just need to improve the small apps. It has lots of potential but at its current stage its pretty much useless right now. However samsung multi screen is what I wish xperia had have.

Its reality and if Sony implements in a perfection ,they check the use of it and make us to proper use...no comments on Sony using these, there software department should be updated and that is what they are doing it.

Yes, I'm 99% sure that there won't be a big upgrade flagship for MWC. Regarding the 2H flagship, I'm not so sure when it would be revealed. Logically from what we see in the past, IFA would make sense. One issue that causes Sony to do 2 iterations seems to stem from suppliers. If Qualcomm release their processors earlier, Sony can move to 1 flagship/year strategy, but releasing their new processors mid year is hard to cope with.

Posted by amirprog
About the design, i have no doubt that sony can reduce or even cut in half the top and bottom bezel while keeping all the latest features but they always choose a thinner profile over smaller bezel and thicker profile. they obviously think that thinner profile will be appealing to more people over thinner bezel. G2's design is not genius at all - it doesn't have side buttons, it's not waterproof and it's the thickest flagship out of all. there are pros and cons in everything. i'm sure that even if sony will reduce the phone bezels dramatically then people will start ranting about the phones thick profile - "it's too thick - it's like a block!". i'm not sure what i'd like more - it depends on how thick a profile would be with a thinner bezel. i'd like to see sony release a highend device with the latter design with all the latest hardware features and see what reactions it gets.

Many of these features exist in Samsungs, from Glove Mode, Simple Home screen, to Power Management with options to clock down CPU, Auto Adjust screen tone to save power, Auto Adapt display and lower screen refresh rate. Accessory Management has also been around, not sure how deep Sony's one is though, but with accessories like the S View Cover, Samsung had no choice but to ensure they have this.

Double tap to wake and the answering machine thing stand out to me as something we haven't seen in Samsung, I liked the former in the LG G2, makes using the phone that much more fluid, so good on Sony for implementing it.

Posted by >500
@Tsepz_GP

You are correct on that. I really wish Samsung, and other manufacturers, minimise the gimmicky stuff. And focus on simplifying things and implenting software that consistantly works. I just think Samsung are the worst at this.

Anywho. Moving on.

Those 3 dots at the bottom of the D6503 look like a mic, and the one hole on top should be another. Stereo recording maybe?

Ok I need simple answer...is it D6603 better than D6503?

Posted by Ricky D
Top hole is most likely a noise cancelling mic.

I think people (here) have differing definitions of a 'flagship' device. It'd be great if there was one be all and end all definition that we can stick by, but the moment the thread is not the next page that definition will be overlooked and there'll be further discussions of 'is it or isn't it's.

Isn't this little mother basket again? He is like a little felon, acting differently in different locations. In PhoneArena, that donkey is a well know Samsung troll commentor, so dumb till he spewed that Sony totally ripped off those features from Galaxy S3 and Sony is playing catch up to Galaxy S4. Here, like a criminal, acting different person, saying the feature wasn't ripped. Maybe tapping into your tiny brains a little, Glove Mode was ripped from the Xperia Sola. Double tap to wake already existed day one on Tab Z. If I'm your parents, I'll be ashamed of you, posting, acting contradictory online. If you do not like Sony, get your damn ass wiped off here. This forum doesn't like people posting, irrelevant, unnecessary information. If you insist your little ass should remain, please create another thread bashing Sony. Don't destroy the 2014 thread. Remember, you're a well known terrorist, disrupting activities constantly in the 2013. Like all terrorist, they were eventually caught and purged from this world. Yours coming very soon.

Not likely, because the model numbers for Sony's tablet devices actually always begin with SGP.

It's not bitching. It's patience wearing thin. When action must be taken, it will be taken. And carrier variant will not affect the second digit of the phone code.

About s805, gsmarena just reported that gs5 will be announced at MWC, February 23th and released in April with either s805 or samsung exynos, so why can't sirius has s805? qualcomm announced devices with s805 from May...
EDIT: ah, just entered the source link, it says "end of April", that is basically May. well, why can't sony do the same?

The S5 unveiling rumor is being spread by Eldar Murtazin, so it's 50/50, others say S5 will be unveiled in March and see a late April release like the S4, which would match the S805 schedule.

In any case, S5 will be like S4 has two SoC version.. the exynos version without LTE, and the Snapdragon version with LTE... and we can expect that the exynos version will be released before the Snapdragon one...

And did I mention that my S4 will be the last Samsung shit I buy !! My only concern was that my contract isn't aligned with Sony flagship launches... that's why I have Note 2 before and now Galaxy S4... but I'm planing to change this soon...

Posted by Tsepz_GP
I'm shocked you've kept that awful S4 of yours for so long, Xajel!

WRT S5, I read somewhere that LTE may not be an issue with the Exynos 6,so, maybe we will see a situation like the S3, where the European, Middle-Eastern, and Asia-Pacific regions get the Exynos and then the Americas get Qualcomm due to their LTE bands.
