Oh really? And Sony not? Sony Z > ZL > Z1 > Z1s = 4 models + some region untits in a year! Didn't list the lower Z's. Why not 1 device per year? Others can, Sony still not. Cause they are too slow to put better HW into it devices...

Wtf your response is very poor. What's the difference between Galaxy S4 and S4 Active?? You do the Z1 and Z1s are the same phone? Wipe your Samsung fanboy ass out of the forum. Seriously, if you want to debate, I will highly encourage you to put in more effort in researching. It's simply Z>Z1. Don't fabricate stories to make yourself sound credible. I can brutally tell you. It's not working.

coming to the point we have one monthleft and we need to ask RANDOM user aka RAMU...why are u silents on leak bro...puts some momentum to this forum........

Xperia Z1 Compact retail packaging spied: http://www.xperiablog.net/201[....]ompact-retail-packaging-spied/
that yellow is HOT! "for the brave and unpredictable" and i'm a black phone guy, hehe. that pink is clearly for girls. nice present for a girl. "bold with a hint of sweetness" they should make a red one as well.

Guys I know the the 64 is the future, but it is not the tomorrow future, may be the next year or so, then from my view it will be better until the 64 right time come that they focus on electric consumption more for example and so on

For me it will be better to give a while for the major program companies so they can make a 64 versions from there programs and games so when the 64 appears it will be useable than to make it and then wait, now from my view and my knowledge a lot of major program making companies start doing and testing a final versions of there 64 version

No, not tomorrow, honestly not this year even if Qualcomm did the 64 Sony won't use it before 2015 even I got a rumors, just a rumors and from not that trustworthy sources, that Sony also testing the 64 bit A7 with the ios, honestly I didn't believe so, but I always write any info I got, so if this info have any thing right is that Sony is trying hard in all the OSs now, they have the Android, anf they will build Windows, and already solid they will have at least one Mozilla and they are trying the Ubuntu and now IOS!!!

We will see what will happen, again I am not sure from this info, when I was sure that the Z1s is not the Z1mini I tell it with confidence, but this not yet

I guess they both were kidding with you regarding the Tomorrow thing haha

Anyway. Sony and iOS 7? Wait, WAT? I'm REALLY skeptical about that (even you isn't sure), but if it turns out true, the market will be something REALLY interesting...

@supercoolman

I didn't said it would be necessarly good, just interesting

Sony and Apple are in my top 3 favorite tech companies, along with Google. It would be really interesting to what will come up if they make a iOS device.

I just think most Apple fanboys will start to say a lot of BS (which, in terms, is actually true) because iOS is Apple exclusive and bla bla bla...

About Nokia, well, they were using a dying OS. They just made the wrong choice to move to another slowly dying OS.

I can't see why you'd compare Sony and Nokia, because Sony isn't ditching Android or anything. They said that is their focus. But why not try other OSes? If it sells a lot, good for them. If not, they lose some money, but still have a big portion of their lineup using something that is getting money for them.

we know someone was sent to nokia. anyone know if someone was sent to sony?

By the way this guy told me that the Sony vaio phone will be 2 actually, one of them is an office phone aka had qwert take it with salt also because I didn't see it anywhere

Sony running iOS is impossible. Apple like their money, and they don't want to dilute their brand by giving it away to other OEM's.

By the way I said from the beginning that I don't believe much in this rumor, but I heard it and I am saying it now both this and the windows qwerty keyboard

I'd hate to see Sony's hardware wasted on iOS, anyway.

I partly agree with you, 64bit is the future, now or later, and it's better to have a seamless and trouble-less transition between 32bit and 64bit...

But the part I don't agree with is for developers.. developers won't create or port any app to 64bit if there's no 64bit devices... why ? because they won't spend money developing something that won't be used at all... they will do what they will get paid for doing.. 32bit !!

The main problem regarding 64bit is that applications compiled for 64bit won't run on 32bit devices ( and OS )... so if there's no 64bit devices out there.. how will people use 64bit apps ? so when 64bit devices are spread and the ADK for 64bit version is out there.. then we might see some companies doing 64bit.. in fact most will do... but most of these will just test 64bit to see what's the benefit of it and this is another reason... a lot of apps actually will not benefit from 64bit and some might have a slight benefit... so if they develop a 64bit only app then it won't run on any 32bit device which are the majority... and if the benefit is not that great in 64bit.. they won't see any solid reason for why going for two apps paths ( 32bit and 64bit ) while they can do it better with only one (32bit) and saving the 64bit efforts for polishing and perfecting the 32bit app !!

Posted by Xajel
Sony iOS ?? that's interesting... but my guess is that Sony is testing the phone/OS as every other company.. they're testing it coz they want to compete with it.. Apple do the same.. I'm sure they have plenty of Android flagships in their labs to see and dig.. and I believe Sony has not just Apple, but Samsung, HTC, Moto, Huawei, Blackberry, ASUS, Nokia, bla bla bla, and Samsung does also.. every manufacturer will take a look at it's competitor products to see them closely...

Sony knows they can't use iOS so why bothering testing it... Apple won't give them this like how Apple control their own desktop OS and no other company can license it... but if Apple did make it.. it will be a major move by Apple as this move will be a truly change of Apple's business model.. personally I feel that Sony might be the closest to Apple when counting design and quality.. but Sony is open more than Apple.. but not in every side too Sony changed in the previews years specially SE days.. they're moving away from property things toward standards ( like microUSB, Miracast, CTIA Audio jacks, ANT+ ) I know they're slow adopting these standards, like BT4 LE for example.. but they like to be unique also.. they supported ANT+ long time ago while no body was supporting it ( and most still not yet )... but now most major makers already had BT4 LE from last year and they just started to have it ( SW2 still depend on regular BT making the connected smartphone drains a lot of battery for this ).. for wireless charging.. Sony tends to not loving paying license.. that's why I think they want their own standard or an open one.. except when the current open standards doesn't satisfy their needs...

Maybe they will make a fully new UI for Android 4.4 KitKat

Posted by sami92a
http://www.xperiablog.net/201[....]chipset-to-launch-with-kitkat/

Qualcomm MSM8974AB chipset with 2.3GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics.
5-inch 1080p display ,
3GB RAM,
20.7MP rear camera
2.1MP front camera.

If the only difference between Z1 and Sirius is that the latter has 1 GB Ram more it won´t be worth getting it... Sony has to have something else then this... I bet they´ll name it Z1+ too just to confuse people

@BenLing, I hope so !!

@sami92a,
We know that there's will be a slight upgrade to Z1, better SoC and more RAM ( and maybe 32GB Internal ) are good upgrades... As far as what we have now from leaked info.. Sirius isn't the 2014 flagship

Well I'm still passing on Z1 for:
-Screen (I want an IPS)
-Bezel (just a minor thing, they do not bother me too much)
-16 GB memory (i would love at least 32GB)
So as long as they improve the screen quality (which I have high hopes seeing the T2 Ultra and the Z1 Compact, and for the fact that it will be a 5.2" and not a 5.0") and the narrow a bit the bezel (would love the SAME dimensions of the Z1 with a 5.2" screen) for me it's an instant buy :3
Also hoping for them to retain the IP55/58 with the Jack uncovered and the magnetic charge. also hoping in a better flash (not necessarily Xenon, I'd prefer dual led)...

You are right... would love to see them unify their UI between Bravia, Vaio, Xperia, PS4, Cybershots... it would give a bigger sense of cohesion of the Sony branches

BTW referring to the slightly updated UI...
- Has they ditched the coloured Icons (different for themes)?? I hope NOT! I loved them
- Would love to see the new Lock Screen Images for each theme

AFAIK it's another high-end.. I think zomg mentioned that neither Sirius or Canopus are the flagship while both are high-ends.. but @evleaks mentioned that Sirius is the flagship...

I believe that Sony is preparing another flagship with 805...

This is if the multi high-ends + one flagship is going to be this year... but if there's more than one flagship.. then I believe @evleaks is correct mentioning Sirius as a flagship.. as there's another one coming later with 805...

Do we know anything about the battery from this leaks?

The other specs sound good imho, it just a refresh or whatever so it's ok.

@CrownedAkuma:

Interesting...

So Sony won't have 805 from the beginning ?

We have two main high-ends.. Sirius and Canopus.. Sirius is almost the most known one and is meant to be released in Feb./March

Canopus in another hand is meant to be released later this year... we know Sony's habit of having September/October release for the second one...

This isn't the only card Sony has up their sleeve. So, they have decided to wait probably until IFA again?

Canopus is not a Global device but a device for AU KDDI Japan.

Maybe Sony wants to wait for 64 bit Qualcomm and launch Z1 like device or maybe launch S805 with new camera at IFA, but personally haven't heard anything related to that theory as yet.

Or maybe, Sony still didn't finalized their plan which depends now more on Qualcomm roadmap...
a high-end 64bit from Qualcomm might be late 2014 or 1H15 from my expectations and reading around the net...

S5 is rumored to have S805, heck even HTC M8 is now rumored to have one. I can't believe Sony won't release a S805 to rival them especially that Sony is now a top tier Qualcomm customer, unless Qualcomm or any other SoC manufacturer has something much better for H2.

I agree with Ramu that there is no high end device for another 7 to 8 months. Like I said a few days ago Sirius is just an upgraded Z1 but it is supposed to be the first Sony phone which will release globally in all markets.
Sony is releasing one true flagship a year which will be sightly upgraded after 6 months.
By the way my source told me that Sirius is what Z1 was supposed to be( better display,camera and so on).

^So the next TRUE flagship, not an update, is not until 7 months?

Posted by DACHA
^^ Yes, September announcement and release.

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Sounds like Sony can be written off as a major competitor, at least in the high end this year.

Ahh jeez, it's this same cycle every year though, guess they'll be back in the game in late 2014/early 2015 then.

Hmmm, then I think MWC would be enough for a "refresh" announcement. I still am waiting for Sony to go for a big solo event like Samsung and Apple.

Yes, mainly software. The Z1 was rushed to market to put Sony ahead of the competition event though the software wasn't fully optimized.
