The Official Esato's Phone Camera Shootout Competition September 2013: "Lots of them !"

First off I would like to thank everyone who voted for me in August. As I get to choose this months theme, I wanted to pick something everyone could enter easily.

So this month, I want to see entries from the Esato community which can literally have anything in them. Be it people, animals, plants, bugs, clouds - anything. The one rule is, there must be LOTS OF THEM !!

So, the more creative the better, just make sure in your pictures you include at least 5 visible subjects in your shot. It can be anything from a macro to a landscape, as long as theres lots of them in it !!

GOOD LUCK x x

Lots of INCENSE STICKS !

Original

Lots of PEOPLE !

Original

Lots of COCKROACHES !

Original

Lots of FLAMINGOS !

Original

Lots of BLUEBELLS !

Original

Lots of BUBBLES !

Original

RULES
1: Pictures must be taken with a mobile phone by contestant
2: You may change your entry, but only once
3: No archive photos and photos must be taken in September 2013
4: Post full size photo here http://www.esato.com/phonephotos/ and post a link to that photo
5: Post processing of your picture is not allowed

GOOD LUCK x x

Missed the end of last month

Will participate this month though.

One question that I asked before but I now with more clarity would like to ask again. Would a shot with the new accessories like the QX100/QX10 qualify as taken with a mobile phone?

Posted by Bonovox
As long as it's taken with a phone doesn't matter if you use something attached to it am sure

Posted by hihihans
@Ricky D. Yes they would qualify. You still take the photo with your phone. Without a phone these lenses are useless.

You can all try to get me as busy as possible, early entries and change it later. I'll enjoy it

Posted by alenn
Nice capture Bono.
Welcome back

Posted by cupcake30
Glad you all like the theme!
Its nice to see an early entry, what a pretty & colourful photo

Posted by Bonovox
Thanks. And don't know why some people said Nexus 4 camera was crap

Posted by alenn
Nowadays only no-name phone cameras are crap.
IF you don't pixel-peep, it is fine.
Like me, with my N900

Just my .02 but I would say "No, the QX100/QX10 do NOT qualify"... i say this because these have their OWN built-in sensor and are NOT a mobile phone actually.... they simply transmit the image to your phone.

hi guys... long time no see...
may i join the party for this month? nice theme for this month

Posted by alenn
Welcome back!
Sure you can

Posted by hihihans
@mlife I'll ask @Ricky D to upload a pic to esato so we can see what the exif says. If it's not detectable it's hard to rule it out.

@VLADISLAUS. Welcome back! We missed you.

Posted by Bonovox
@mlife I didn't know that

Posted by Ricky D
Yeah, the rumours are that the accessories have in-built sensors and simply transmit the photo to the handset, however, the accessory itself cannot be a standalone camera in that it doesn't have a shutter key nor a viewfinder (not that viewfinders are necessary) you still need to use a phone to take the photo.

It gets more complicated that the QX100 doesn't even have to send the photo to your phone because it uses an sdcard.

I think @hihihans is correct though that if there isn't anything in the exif that is telling, it's hard to rule police. Even though it gives a clear advantage with (rumoured) 10x optical zoom and large(ish) sensor.

Congratulations~

Q question is harder as I thought.
I'll look deeper into this.

Posted by VLADISLAUS
can i use additional lense to join this competition? like simple fisheye lense that don't have built in sensors?

Posted by hihihans
Lenses without sensors have always been on the good side of qualification. Just as anything you can do before you actually press the shutter button.
these new lenses with sensor are on the edge. I am just not shure on which side.

I'm back to business as I have the Nexus 3 (ironically the Nexus 4 dropped its price just after I bought the 3)

Posted by razec
I wished I could join the photo contest this time as I have something in mind but I don't think my iPad is allowed

Posted by alenn
Draw something
But seriously though, sorry mate.
I know that feel when my N900 gave me troubles.

Posted by hihihans
Because I love this competition I created a new thread.
should we replace "phone" into "mobile" in the shootout?
I created that thread to discuss, we'll see what happens.

I don't see a picture. Link broken ?

Posted by Bonovox
Sorry fixed now as I re uploaded it due to asshole 1 voters again

Posted by etaab
That's counts as a third entry and therefore disqualification !

Only joking, the Nexus doesn't take bad pictures, but at 100% its very much like my Galaxy S3.

Posted by Bonovox
oh yes never thought of that Yes with the right person behind the lens it does well. Low light is crap but seen worse too. This was using in camera HDR Birmingham is going through massive transformation right now with new modern buildings all over the place plus a new train station revamp. It's new library has 1.5 million books and is largest in Europe. Has gardens too!! But as the title says lots of buildings in this photo

my original idea was something along those lines, I just can't get it to come out how I vision it... still working on it though hence the reason I titled my imge attempt 1 of 2

Posted by etaab
I must admit, Ricky D's image which cannot be used as it was taken in the wrong month is a brilliant illustration of the current theme. Since Cupcake got the theme idea from me, that's what i'd be looking for.

Posted by hihihans
That really is a lot of...
I wanted more cows but the big group was to far away. I do have more ideas but the rain won't let me capture it.
