The Official Camera Phone Shoot-out Competition June 2013: "OPEN"

Relax... it's not what you think

No, Im not using the same "shoot what you want" idea..... this is more along the lines of "Open" as a verb!
http://www.merriam-webster.com/thesaurus/open[verb]

Get creative and enjoy the theme... there are however (as always) a few rules;

1) Pictures must be taken with a mobile phone by that member.
2) Only 1 photo with allowance for only 1 change.
3) No archive photos and photos must be taken between June 1st 2013 and June 28th 2013.
4) Post full size photo here and post a link to that photo
5) Picture post processing not allowed

Happy opening!!

First, congratulations, mlife. You won, again *tsc*tsc*. Not even a single vote for me

Anyway, that's a really abstract theme... Not sure if I will be able to find something like that so easily...

Wish me good luck

Nice thinking
Open up your minds and get creative.

Open as a verb

Congrats mlife!
I hate to wait for a new theme but for this month fortunately that's not the case.
Thanks to hihihans and NOZ, I was sure that photo was going to attract a couple of votes.
Actually the S500's camera is pretty good for 2MP. I wish it had AF hehe.

Happy shooting and good light!

Thank you....and hopefully none of us will come up with something "easily" but I'm confident we will indeed come up with something.

We have really open terms for the theme.

Link works
As usual I get a couple of ideas when new theme is announced. The major problem is to realize it into a decent photo

Posted by alenn
Well why isn't there a video contest...
You open a door etc.

This lock is open

Lets just say I for one will not be limiting the artists portrayal of my theme... so if it is open, can be opened, is being opened, won't open, not opening, just opened, partly opened or whatever (you get the gist).... I'm just excited to see what everyone comes up with!

I have to wait until the school ends..oh..well that's in Friday

I must admit, ive never been anywhere more open than at the top of a mountain, the open air, open shear cliff edges, monstrous winds tempting to blow you off the edge with nothing but a completely open 360 degree panoramic horizon. Being able to see as far as Scotland, England, Ireland the Isle of Mann on a clear day. Mount Snowdon's summit, North Wales

Open your mind and fill it with wonder

Posted by Bonovox
Lovely image. I plan to goto Snowdonia summit someday soon up on the train. Who is that standing there??

Posted by Ricky D
@Bonovox You should walk up, it's not that bad. The longest but shallowest route takes is a full day out, the shorter routes are more adventurous. You don't get the sense of achievement if you take the train.

Will this competition change with the arrival of android powered compact cameras that have phone capabilities (e.g. S4 Zoom)?

I think yes because the 808 has lossless digital zoom that is almost as good as optical. (of course in smaller resolution)

Off the record but my daughter asked about this month theme and started arranging her pistachio nutshells right after I explained "open as a verb".

Ohh the pleasure of already knowing who wins

Here's my entry. The clouds opening up for the sun to come out. and the opening of the city to receive it

Posted by alenn
I'm changing my photo.
I had this idea back at the beginning of the month but thought only verb OPEN as if you actually opened something would be valid.

Out in the open
