Congrats to 9_Destiny.

I just have to complain that April Fools bring us some snow today after 20+ degree in March ... so no Spring for me for now.

Posted by pohuman
Congrats & very nice theme..

Posted by etaab
So it doesnt have to include flowers then at all ? all those examples make it looks like it should.

Posted by tranced
Exactly. Seasons are not the same worlwide.

Posted by 9_Destiny
You may shot everything which shows that nature comes to life. Flowers, trees, grass, plants, landscapes, insects and so on, and so on.

Thats why I've put Click Here other examles from Google.

Theme is very wide and you can use your own creativity to show how beautiful could nature be. Thx again 4 congrats

Congrats on winning and nice theme, too! However users living in the Southern Hemisphere will have a problem participating this month...

I think they won't have problems because they also got flowers, trees, grass, plants etc. Theme is wide and offers an opportunity 4 everyone who really wants to join in. In my opinion maybe only those who are living on Greenland or Africa could have problems with the theme

As far as I remember I haven't nothiced such users. Everyone from Europe, North and South America, Pacific and Asia even Australia shouldn't have problems with snaping shots no matter if there is a sunny day, cloudy or even rainy one.

More samples from Esato: All taken last April.

Hope that I dispelled all doubts.

Nice entry

Posted by 9_Destiny
Indeed nice. Taking into account photos made by others in Photos Section I predict great examples this month.

Posted by hihihans
yesssss, it started

Posted by Bonovox
In the UK the seasons are mixed up. Its spring time last week we had 22c today we had 2c with wind sleet rain and snow. Need the sunshine back to get my shot as I have seen what I wanna shoot.

Posted by Ricky D
But English weather is like that all year round.

It was 12ºC Christmas Day in Doncaster, sun was out and everything. T-shirt weather.

I'm going to shoot a must-win photo this week

.... I know how that is, living here in Orlando it is usually 75ºF (23ºC) on Christmas day.... I can remember spending many Christmas' at the beach!

Bad news is, you really have to HUNT down any signs of seaons and their change!

Good to see you back on the board. Here in Warsaw also rainy days. Forecasts say that better weather should be from next Monday. First flowers should appear in days.

I know I shouldn't take it personal but Im sick of all the HATERS posting one's to my photos.... I sat out last month to cool off a bit and I know this has come up countless times on these boards... but Im just done...

I had the same dilema as you had. I knew about 42Mpix in Pure View 1,5 month before Barcelona. I also done a lot of pics from N9/Lumia 800 before others because I had testing examples when I was working 4 Nokia. Eventually I didn't inform/show anything because of private policy and so on... I regret this a bit

Anyway quality of your bird picture is truly amazing.

What a shame, mlife.

What was wrong with that ??

Posted by emporium
Nothing, he deleted photo because of 1 votes.

Posted by Bonovox
I have felt the same again recently not bothering to upload anymore

Posted by etaab
You cant not take part just because you only got one vote, or am i missing something more.. ??

Posted by Ricky D
@etaab
I think it's not that he received 1 vote but in the photos section of esato his photos were rated '1' many times giving his photo an unfair ranking in the top rated section. There was suspicion (and strong evidence) that the votes there were being rigged positively and negatively by certain members on the forum. I thought the mods here cleaned it up a fair bit but it seems some are still being targeted. My solution for myself is I don't pay any attention to the ratings there (I don't visit the page at all), ignorance is bliss and I value votes in this thread as the voting is transparent and by people who care.

Posted by biosx
Here's my entry... though I'm not so satisfied with it I missed out on the past two competitions as I've failed to get any good entries.

Cheers.

Edit: It does have a 1 vote though I think i noticed a pattern on the "1 voting". If a photo enters the top 100 and "someone" whoever it is doesn't deem it "worthy" of the top, he votes it with 1. Pretty stupid as you're not supposed to make the top yourself, you just contribute with one vote. So even if he feels the photo is a 6 or a 7, he votes 1 to get the photo out of the top, thinking "that one doesn't deserve to be in the top 100". So, if you upload a nice photo and it gets 3 or 4 votes of 10, it will show up in the top briefly. Then our friendly neighborhood troll comes along and does what I've just said.

It's a hunch i have, kind of amuses me, in a sometimes annoying way. All of my really nice photos have at least one "1 vote" whereas my .. let's say "less successful" shots are deprived this privilege.

What would be nice is if someone could check some of the photos in the top and see if they have two or three "1 votes", if the person who voted them down was the same sad little troll. Then it would make sense...

I've been frustrated by this phenomena many times, but it's really not worth it mlife just smile!

I'd be honoured if one of my photos got the 1 vote treatment.

It's like Sir Alex Ferguson only slags off the teams that pose a threat to Man Utd, calling City desperate last week. He's completely stopped arguing with Wenger, he's even complimented him once or twice this season!

P.S. Great photo! ^^

Ah i see, i dont really use Esato for anything other than its forum so yes, ignorance is bliss.

Its the same on any site, you go to the news section and you get lots of morons posting stupid comments to the news but then you actually venture into the forums and find you have to sign up to post and you get more creditable comments.

@ mlife - like these guys have said ignore them and just post here, people can see quality with their eyes not by paying attention to a morons rigged voting.

Nice shot @biosx I can almost smell the scent of spring now

Posted by 9_Destiny
Great shot biosx. Good to see your shot in this month's competition.

Regarding to the haters the best strategy is not to worry about them and their trolling votes. I remember when I was close to stop posting shots here at the end of the April last year. Fortunately jsrjr_gua_br and CecoBizona discouraged me from doing it. Even mlife wrote at one of my shots that he was also frustrated with it.

I bet it was the main reason of leaving many great photographers from Esato. I could bring dozens of links where owners of the shots are calling such haters of trols, idiots even gays

Esato could be great alternative for Flickr as cameraphones database. "Could" because sluggish mods don't do much in this case. Pity. If not us who don't bother such trolling, there would be hardly any user posting new shots. Who normally would to upload pics here and see couple of one's at start? Nobody. Everybody could fell as a stranger here.

Medicine on that would be a modification which automatically delete lowest marks every day. Otherwise I can’t see better future for mobile photography here in Esato. For now I’m trying not to bother those haters but I’m not guarantee that one day I will simply go away and I will upload shots only @ Flickr. All to left haters for themselves

At least here is less anonymity and everybody who wants to be part of monthly voting must reveal.

That's why I put the names in the list at the end. To keep things clear and open.

Back to topic, post some spring-worthy pics please.
Can people from the southern-hemisphere post an autumn photo? I'd like to say yes

I think the same way as etaab. To be honest I would never hit that it’s a picture of a spring or nature comes to life. Maybe more suitable shot would be better? What do you think io_bg?

Posted by hihihans
Fog comes in all seasons. Maybe spring has the most fog but I don't think that's reason enough.

Dont get me wrong, its a very nice picture and very spooky - maybe we need a spooky natural picture theme next month..

but i dont think it shows spring's arrival much

Posted by Ricky D
This is my 'Spring on the Great Wall' shot.

I took it at a section of the Great Wall of China which is closed off to tourists and so hasn't been restored in a long time. It was crumbling and broken and the path was down to just 8 or 9 inches wide in places and yet in the area there was white blossom growing without a care in the world bringing new life to decaying structures.

I had to lean out over a 20ft drop with nothing to counter balance me but my left leg to get this shot. And I had to shoot blind to get the right angle.

In another attempt you can get an idea of the kind of thing I was leaning off and the state of the wall.

Nice shot Ricky

Posted by Ricky D
Thanks 9_Destiny. Although I'm convinced I could probably get something better.

RE: the ratings in the gallery. I have only just found yesterday where to see what votes you've had. I notice some of my recent shots have one 1 and then a few 7-10. I guess this is what is meant by the 1 vote. I'm not bothered just thought I'd share that even my shots which can't muster a win in a competition where the average attendance isn't more than 10 also get victimised by some low level vote rigging.
