What the difference between 2G - 2.5G and 3G??

2.5G is known as Edge which is faster than GPRS but slower than 3G/HSDPA.

Dang, I almost forgot about 2.5g.

I only ever pick it up once or twice. O2 had the best Edge coverage I once picked it up out in the sticks.

2.5G is GPRS, EDGE is 2.75G.

GPRS is available almost everywhere, when there's GSM coverage, while EDGE is only available in certain locations.
Both use the GSM (2G) network for data transfer.

Must say, i get great EDGE from my network, only time i use HSPA+ is when i download large files or stream, otherwise EDGE is perfect for regular browsing, emails, IM, FB, Twitter etc...
