Sony Xperia S thread

I'm still undecided whether I should go for the plunge and take it of my arc. Despite being careful the sheet has a few scratches on it (I've read that the glass underneath is actually good and resistant to scratches but the sheet is not).

If I took it off and applied a screen protector would this work as effectively? Also I find the screen currently resists touch on occasion making swiping extremely difficult and unpleasant as its not smooth, but rather very resistive... I'm guessing this is down the toe sheet...

Well,it happened to me when I first had the x10. I scratched the screen really easily but then I found out about the sheet on top. After removing it I never had any scratches again

Posted by rickster2kuk
Yeah, same with my, the protector gets really scratched on my Arc. I don't know why SE even put it on if the glass doesn't scratch.

My C905's screen was also mineral and that was amazing, never had a single scratch.

Posted by Bonovox
They use mineral glass on watches don't they??

Just seen some benchmarks on a Chinese site. Xperia S outperforms all the dual core competition in most benchmarks including Galaxy S II, the Nexus S and the HTC phones. Really pleased by the performance numbers !!!

Antutu score is even higher than Galaxy Note.

Wow great performance and a below 500euros price...That's so great.I think i might just grab one..Unless,something groundbreaking shows up at MWC.

Posted by dibdin
Same here, but at the moment it's Xperia S all the way.

Posted by Bonovox
I wonder if in future phones Sony will start to use their Stamina batteries?? They are good batteries in their cameras

Posted by randomuser
True. At least till Q3 Xperia S seems like the best Android phone to buy and also the best value IMO. Cheaper than Galaxy S II and better
Let's hope the Hayabusa and Mint continue the legacy

SONY is off to a great start this year !!. Especially in the US where everyone seems to want the Ion and the S so bad. Now let's hope the Sony Hayabusa and Mint kick Samsung and HTC's flagships in the

Is it official that the Hayabusa and Mint are both smartphones and not tablets?

Posted by randomuser
Yes Hayabusa and Mint are phones. Even Rog confirmed the same.

Posted by dibdin
Okay thanks. Can't wait for either of them too impatient.

Posted by dibdin
The white version is exclusive to phones4u initially right?

Posted by Bonovox
Not sure I have known many say exclusive then I see it elsewhere on other devices

play.com have changed the release date from the 30th Jan 2012 to 13th February.

Posted by rickster2kuk
Haha Play are a joke, everyone knows it's not arriving until early March.

Very cool looking live wallpaper that. Blue is my favourite. Looks stunning on the HD screen of the Xperia S from the videos I have seen on YouTube.

Nothing new there with play...it's release with majority of retailers was always for first week in March. Hopefully that will remain so.

Yes I remember last year they kept changing the dates but I guess it was different with what happened in Japan

It would be nice of more of the widgets leaked from the Xperia S. They looked great.

I'm expecting this phone to hit the shelves towards the end of Q1.

Nice find. It came from Sony but a lot of people here on the forum say that it all came from Ericsson.
