It's about half a year I spent already with this phone.
And I must say I love it.
Sony HAS TO optimize ICS baecause it has it's glitches
but the phone is stable and powerful, battery is good.
UI beautiful.

I have mine since july 20 and i'm in love with this phone.
Love the camera, love the sound quality, love the build, love the interface.
And i agree that the ICS needs to be optmized but i trust in Sony and i'm sure we'll get soon an update.

Great news by Google there, Sony need this!
If the Acro S gets the same sort of treatment i'll be doing everything i can to get it
Finally a great looking Nexus phone, who knew it would be one that was already announced.

Source

Sony had 4 models in top 10, the highest of any brand. Samsung had 3.
Xperia S No.3
Xperia U No.4
Xperia Go No,8
Xperia Arc/Arc S No.10

Nice nice.

Incredible stuff, both Apple and Samsung had their current and previous flagships, in the top5 of that list.
Well done Sony even beating out the HTC One X, Htc clearly running into hard times right now, One series dont seem to have done as well as they had hoped.

I'm very pleased to hear that . How many Xperia S' Sony may have sold in total? More than 5 million units?

I would LOVE to know how many of each handset has shipped so far, like if a specific one has shipped more than 1m or 2m. Who knows that kind of info? You always hear this about Samsung phones, never about Sony.

Sony of course. Who else would otherwise know this ?

10 million SIII sold in Q2 is the only figure I have ever seen. How about the rest of their product profolio ?
Posted by randomuser
I am guessing in Q2 Sony sold about 2 million + Xperia S units. Also this is the first time that a Sony phone is in top 5. Last year Arc was the best performer at No.8 or so.

Sup guys ... just took a stroll through SonyEricsson lane and found something quick cool. I think SonyEricsson got the name for the Xperia line of devices about a few years before by a simple W950's CPU
"32-bit Philips Nexperia PNX4008 208 MHz"

I don't think so really. Xperia is derived from "experience".

Then perhaps Nexperia comes from "no experience".

I meant if any 'insiders' on this forum would have an idea.
10 million galaxy Notes have also been sold worldwide.

Okay updated. But frankly cant find much difference. My major concern was the sluggishness at certain places. But the dailler still seems to be a bit slow to open up. Anyway haven't used much so maybe a little early to tell.

Xperia SL unboxing pics:
Maybe someone can add 'SL' to the topic title?

After few days with the latest upgrade, I have to say battery life has been improved,
there is more RAM for the user and the device is snappier.
That's my feedback so far.
I have to observe more though since I had one battery issue.

FW300
Did you use Xperia SL?

Okay so the new FW.overall there is a decent improvement in the lag.Messages haven't yet shown that blank screen.Call log and dialer are generally opening faster but at times slow.Battery life seems to have improved slightly

In short term nothing. In long term end users may get prolonged SW support for their devices by Google.

Hope ION and P will get Vanilla too.
Heard the touchbuttons are bad, with softtouch the problem is solved.

Soft buttons are great on the latest ICS

i decided to get the XS and wait for the 2H 2013 flagships before really upgrading.. just some quick clarifications.
1) the yellow dot, yellow tint issue has been resolved?
2) the latest firmware is: 6.1.A.2.45 ?

Thanks Felimente.
Really excited to get my XS and explore all the new features as well as finally start playing with on(X) and other things I"ve been waiting to mess with since my X10 is a lagging drag these days (due to water damage).
Do you guys use any screen protectors or body protection? just curious. I was planning on just picking up a screen protector because I know that anti-shatter sheet is a huge finger print and oil magnet! just trying to figure out which one i want before I order it..
Any recommendations?

I also used to use a body protector by CASTE MATE but I have stopped using it since it leaves marks on the XS body (happened to 2 of my XS so no more)!

I tried it with another XS and it worked immediately. Quite cool, actually.

Android Beam works for me, I gave it shot on my first day with XS.

Where is it in the menu?

I was open NFC via Quick Settings widget, to send and receive with Beam function.

just got my Xperia S!
It looks gorgeous and feels so different in the hand relative to my X10.
Sadly, it did NOT come with any NFC tags and no screen protector either! I thought these were standard in box accessories?
EDIT: Just realized the "shatter proof sheet" is already applied to the screen, which is nice. but if its anything like the X10's it's gonna be a finger print/oil magnet.. so may look into another type of screen protector. Anybody in the US know where to get NFC tags for cheap? $17 for 4 tags seems kinda steep for me...(these are the xperia tags btw). Would the samsung tags work fine? They're much cheaper at just $10 for 5 tags!
Also, i noticed the back of the phone has a slight texture to it and it's not glossy, which is nice. My question is, how durable is it? Does it scratch up easy? get worn and develop a "smooth" spot where the curved part touches surfaces the most? Just curious for those of you who have had it for awhile and don't use a full body case.
Timescape and Widget - is there a way to set the update intervals? I can't find it for the life of me... :/

You should contact the retailer from where you purchased it! Nfc tags and an extra screen protector should be there in the box.
Also I am not sure about the nfc tags from other manufacturers, but I think they should be compatible as nfc was after all created by sony, nokia and philips.
Edit:
found this on xda
Xperia SmartTags - only compatible with Xperia SmartTags or blank tags written to mimic them
