After installing .75 my battery life is getting even better. I'm currently on 70% and have been using it for 18 hours.
I'm sure it helps significantly being out in the sticks and having no 3G signal.

Here you go
Thanks Bonovox, that's a welcome app. Just wish there were other colour choices available. Is that hardware limiting the number of colours?
Posted by Bonovox
Not sure but Xperia U has different colours anyway
Posted by badassmam
Good stuff, use Light Flow for the LED notification as well and you're done.
Posted by Bonovox
Sony missed a trick here. I mean the notification LED on the U is so dim. Glad someone made this app

Shame it won't work on Gmail

That was pointed out a long time ago. Apart from the chin-separated-by-a-strip there really isn't anything else to it. Besides, the one we have is transparent and the rest of the design is quite different.

Lol, if that Xperia was a Samsung many here would have claimed its a straight-up copy of the HTC
Interesting find there BTW.

Sony Ericsson W595s
Sony Ericsson Satio
The "strip" design element is present in many more phones. Is it one thing you can't blame for is copying others designs...

What parade? I was pointing out a certain trend i have noticed in this forum, what you've done is further validate my point. When in my previous post did i say SE copied anyone? Please point it out?
Ps. Are you trying to say HTC based the design of one of their most successful WM's successor on low end SEs??? If so i rest my case

Better look b/w xs and diamond2

http://www.mobirolla.com/wp-c[....]078932-htc-corporation-pho.jpg
Although there is a similarity, but from my own experience, they never reminded me of each other until i read here. Also w595 and g502 look nothing like diamond2 or xperia s :S.
Also a look b/w iphone and s2

Anyways xperiablog is doing a competition. If you guess the correct date when ics will come out, they will give you 32gb card+usb otg dongle.

Once again, any way to be able to answer calls other than sliding?
Posted by djin
You could try custom firmwares. Usually the problems people face in sliding is due to grease, wet fingers etc. If its clean then i dont think there will be problems with the slid2answer.

I think you can just press the green or the red slider, without actually sliding it. It worked once with my Xperia Pro, but I haven't tried any more after that so I'm not sure if it happened by chance or it works like that.

Xperia S against Nokia Pureview video recording comparison
http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/06/17/xperia-s-in-video-recording-test-against-nokia-808-pureview/
Posted by doministry
.75 Firmware makes touch buttons more sensitive.
Re comparison:
Nokia 808 has great detail but Sony has real colours and great sound.
Posted by NightBlade
Battery life is MUCH better on the .75 firmware. At least for me.
Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Have noticed slight improvements to battery and touch button sensitivity but nothing major. Still anything better is good.
Starting to get a bit anxious about ICS. Hopefully late June and not sometime in July!
Posted by Detox
As soon as I unboxed my Xperia S last week on Thursday, I received the message, that there is an update. So I don't have any experience with the former firmware, but I trust you guys .
ICS for the Tablet S was released on the last Thursday of the month May. Maybe it will happen here again, so that would mean the 28th of June ...
Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Just checked: no ICS yet. I guess we'll hear from Sony Mobile when they begin the Xperia S rollout?

Most probably with a video to see the new features we can enjoy with the update .
Posted by xperia_man
ICS for Sony is Awesome however some things have been removed like the Battery percentage indicator loving the new media apps
Walkman - Fantastic
Photos - Love the viewer and the map feature
Flims - downloads all info and artwork
Posted by NightBlade
I don't see the Walkman app as being very different from the current music player, though...
Posted by doministry
The video looks promising.

Hmmm... I'm getting "can not check for updates (no internet connection)" now, when I clearly have an internet connection. Could mean something is happening behind the scenes I guess... Exciting!
So strange that this pops up right after my post haha.
EDIT: Damn, now it says my software is up to date. Guess I'm waiting a little longer.

im sure it will not improve xperia s cam.. im very disapointed on the technology used on Sony xperia s in terms of camera sensor.. when xperia s not yet release.. i hope that cam of xperia s is very powerful and great quality image.. but when i saw photos taken by that phone im very disapointed.. looks sony is not giving their advance technology for the cam of xperia s.. maybe for marketing strategy...

Wow, has nobody here updated? Was expecting to see some screenshots and experiences of how ICS is on the Xperia S around here, lol, c'mon people, sharing is caring!
Posted by randomuser
I am updating now, will post a review and screenshots in some time.

Congrats again bro Welcome to XS club
Posted by >500
So, now that people have had their XS for a few months, hows the build quality holding up? Loose/creaky back covers? etc etc??
Posted by blackvodka
Got my phone updated to ICS (via flashtool with firmware from Switzerland ), it takes time for the phone to get all the apps work (something like optimization), now it's fine! the in-ear sound has improved in loudness, there are some keyboards to choose with different skins (the xperia one), and then the face unlock function is lovely

I just flashed with the firmware from xda. So far enjoying.
New music player
Lock screen modifications.
Phone feel more smooth
Task manager and usual goodies. So far so good...

Will post more later if anyone here wants me to.
Overall feels very fluid and snappy. Benchmark scores are also slightly higher than earlier. Loving the face unlock and Walkman/Films/Album apps
