Think you'll find most powerful smartphones get warm or hot. It's normal upto a point as long as it don't over heat as in become so hot it becomes damaged or keeps turning off or something.

Posted by S4k1s
My XS gets a bit hot during use, but not to the point of me not being able to hold it and work with it properly.

I remember Arc overheating on 181th firmware, but then it was fixed. I hope it will again)

Posted by NightBlade
Yeah, I'm hoping it gets fixed with the ICS upgrade. That's my only gripe tbh.

Facebook Integration

Guys I'm Facing a problem. I got FB integration on with the contacts and during the 1st time it updated all the contacts with their relevant contact pictures but later whenever somebody changes their contact information or Pictures, it's not highlighted in the phone even after repeated syncing...If I remove the facebook integration and account and then re-add it, the information then displayed is the latest. Is this a problem with Sony Ericsson Facebook Inside Experia or is there a remedy for it. The reason is I use FB only on my phone and not on computer.

Another issues, In contacts under the settings menu the 2nd option "Show Status Updates" is always greyed out. How to enable it?

Maybe auto sync should be ON. I don't use it.

Posted by Spinz
Auto Sync is on...

The main problem is "Show Status updates : Filter status updates from services in your contact lists" is greyed out and not clickable or working

How does the NFC-functionality work on the Xperia S, specifically in regards to changing settings? What I mean is if you, for instance create a "profile" connected to one of the Smart Tags that turns off bluetooth and changes the volume (to be used as a kind "Night Mode", when going to bed), do you have - do you have to set up another Smart Tag to reset the settings (to be used when leaving the bed)?

That's what I do. I tap it on a tag in my bedroom to turn everything off and set the alarm, and also charge it, and then when I wake up I've got a tag in my wallet and tap it on that. V handy.

Come ooon, it's the middle of May! There isn't even an announcement regarding the ICS update.

Posted by randomuser
Apparently Scandinavian countries get the ICS update next week. So has anyone here NOT from Scandinavia flashed Norway/Sweden .73 firmware ???? I am thinking of flashing Scandinavian firmware to get the update next week

Also @admin can we please have Xperia S in the phones list in the DP

It's a rumor over on xda

I take all back I said about the Xperia S and Sony. Sometimes I can be very critical and very fussy person. But I have an Xperia U and even that as a budget device is excellent. Am pleased

Glad you like it Bonovox. I love my X S and thought some of the criticism on here was a tad harsh, and it still surprises me how passionate people can be about phones. Do people argue so vehemently about TVs or MP3 players?

For the money, the X U is a cracking phone.

Posted by Bonovox
No they don't seems crazy eh?? I do love my tech and when I spend good money I become very critical of what I expect. I love the new Sony phones now. I will say though the one thing I hate about the XS is them flaps at the side. I got the Xperia U for Ģ169 and so far no issues and I ain't never seen a dual core at this price. I don't use the phone for much music so the 4 gig is no bother. I got 1 gig music and the rest is apps or photos with plenty of storage left. Anyway won't hog the XS thread

Just received my fifth Xperia S today. No signs of yellow tint so far, but it's still very early days.

By the way it's 12W17.

I'd like to know how much internal memory for apps does the Xperia S has. So, can you tell me how much internal memory do you see in the Xperia S when you go to manage applications?

Many thanks in advance!

2 Gb for apps.

Ok. Anyone knows if this vary from market to market.

As far as I know, no. The apps that come in data partition can be unistalled, and the ones that come in system partition will not alter your installation space.

Posted by randomuser
It doesn't vary market to market. Internal Memory 26 GB for videos, photos, music and other user data. 2 GB phone memory for apps

Posted by Lightspeed_x
@Felimenta97, @randomuser: Excellent, thanks for confirming that!.

xLoud is just for internal speaker not for earphones.

I've seen that!
But what is surprising is the older music player there...
And I don't like the camera shortcut instead of sound on/off toggle on lockscreen.
It's nonsense since we have camera button.

You could try another music player from play, I got cloudskipper and its the best music player for Android by far!! The devs just need to make it work in landscape mode! This is the reason why I havent went to ICS on my Neo V because this is just an awesome package and the loudness is perfect!

Hope this helps in some way!!

I need help with the Music Player. When I add songs in the music folder the phone recognises it and is added to the music player but if I delete any song then the same is not deleted from the music player and a dead link stays there and I get Error "Cannot play track". Is there any option to have the Music Player scan the Media or Music folders and update the music stored in the Memory?

Nope. The Acro S is the Xperia S replacement. Xperia S will go out of production soon apparently, and Acro S will take its place.

Wow, that's weird, the new "nxt design" was very short-lived. I never really liked it, it made the devices to tall.

So a flagship phone that started selling in March may go out of production in June?
And its successor has the exact same processor/features? (save for water/dust resistance)
What sense does that make? I'm sure they can sell side by side. Samsung usually has so many variations of its flagship on sale at the same times.
