A review of the mini from Techrdar:
techradar xperia mini review

Does anyone here use Xperia Mini ?

Is the specs posted in GSMArena (that Xperia Mini doesn't have a front/secondary camera) correct ?

Posted by jplacson
Bonovox, isn't LiveDock HDMI out compatible with the Mini and Mini Pro? Or is this just for the arc?

Posted by Alihosny
that's true the xperia mini doesn't have a front cam ,only the mini pro has one.

Posted by erdyon
@Alihosny :
Do you own the phone, or just answer it based on the information that was circulated around ?

I need to know because someone in my country claims to have a Xperia Mini with front cam. He even took a picture with the front cam (in front of the mirror), although it's kind of blurry.. And to make thing worse... the phone doesn't have an official warranty. I think he got it through black market or something which make some of us think of a possibility that the guy got a beta unit or something like that...

does it have pre-applied screen protector as X10 or Arc? I hate it and would like to remove but I don't know if it's actually present (if not, I'll destroy the screen trying to remove it )

Posted by Bonovox
My Mini Pro did but the Mini did not. But there is a free protector in the box. The protector on the Pro out of the box is NOT the same as Arc or X10 one that is solidly stuck down. By the way after a week of usage I m loving my Pro & so far NO creaking.

I have the Pro. So you're saying that I can carefully remove the screen protector which is already applied out-of-te-box, right? (sorry but my English isn't so good )

Does your phone come with the Earth and Moon live wallpaper that I have seen come with this phone on youtube??

Posted by Bonovox
No I cannot find that anywhere. I found one on Market but it's not the same one Anyway,I can say that I love my Pro more than the Arc or Neo

ah seems u beat me to it!!! the best part for me has to be

The 1200mAh battery is said to ideally last 340 hours of standby and 5 hours and 25 minutes of talk time in a 3G network. In reality, the Xperia mini pro managed over 3 days in stand-by, connected to a Wi-Fi network most of the time. When we really put it under pressure though, the phone barely lasted a day. It was always connected to both the 3G and Wi-Fi networks, we did heavy browsing, music and video playback, and the usual benchmarks.

altho i still havent finished reading the review yet...so there mite be something even better in store! lol

3 day standby now that is pretty damn good for a smartphone! go !!!

Really? My X10 mini pro gets about 18 hours standby on 3G.

I wonder if the low light shots are good, can someone post a sample shot(without flash). TIA

Yes, charges mine approx. every third day with around 30 min calls on 3G (my record for standby is around 5-6 days on a single charge).

Bought my Mini Pro yesterday from CPW and I love it! By far the best SE phone I've owned in years! So fast and responsive, a massive improvement over the X10 Mini Pro. Build quality is also much better, keyboard feels nice and solid also.

I got the black version and to let people know, my Mini Pro came with a rubberised back panel! I was dreading the glossy plastic I've seen in phones but it's the same rubberised finish from the X10 Mini Pro.

10/10 love it!

Congrats!! I too love my white one I am not sure about the Exmor though can anyone clear this up for sure??

No Exmor R according to SE homepage

Posted by Bonovox
I thought not

Posted by FMW300
Wouldn't they tell you on the box/manual?

Posted by Diablo2
Any news on when the other colours except white and black will be released for mini/mini pro?

Posted by Bonovox
Actually come to think of it I did not see Exmor on the box.

Posted by Eva-m00
I'll also add that the phone is RAPID to use. The old X10 Mini ran like a bag of shit in comparison. No lag whatsoever and lovely little graphical flourishes are a joy. Battery life is also much improved.

Lovin this phone!

What Pro V with a 3 meg camera??

Posted by doministry
Beautiful phone.

I have no idea why GSM Arena says the viewing angles are poor. They are the best I seen on all the new Xperia's as it's right up against the glass & is very readable from all sides & clear. One thing I have noticed about the camera. When taking photos indoors using auto white balance & flash it comes out really yellow White balance settings for auto are poor

Had a look at the Xperia minis today in CPW. They are both very nice phones with very nice screens. I prefered the mini, its slightly more compact and lighter than the pro being only a fraction bigger than the x10 mini. The salesman said I could have it for £119 if I had my current o2 simcard, I thought that was an amazing price!

I would be interested to know if anybody here has noticed this issue too. I am really keen on getting a Mini Pro to replace my X8, but not if there are going to be problems with it...

Posted by Bonovox
Nope. The noise is there during video recording but it's not from the screen at all. I have heard no noise from my screen and I just checked too. The noise during video is not very loud really does not bother me

Posted by jplacson
If it's buzzing, it's more likely from the continuous auto-focus. The proximity of the mic to the mechanical lens assembly would allow it to pick up structure-borne noise.
