So do any other Elm owners notice the paint layer on their phone is starting to wear off? Mainly the sides of the buttons and the top corners on the back?

yes it happens to me.

call & end button (red/green) edges now has white glowing due to wear off paint.

whole keypad painted with black paint. it easily tear if touch from sharp objects. even sometimes finger nails.

It's a shame they didn't just color the plastic mixture, in stead of just painting a thin layer on top...
My old K750i had plastic that was red through-and-through.

But then it couldn't bee called a greenheart phone as the process required to colour the plastic are bad compared with paint - it will also be toxic free, that's life I guess need to make sacrifices for the good of the planet.

same here my 4 way d pad also paints coming out along with call and end key
but have to say i have dropped my Elm so many times that i excuse it for the paint coming out part as its quite a robust phone

I got my Elm on release day (1 year ago) and use it daily and have not found this, all paint etc on fine. Great build quality IMO.
