Then create a new account

haha but there are plenty other websites to use like gumtree.

Posted by Bonovox
I can't cos everytime I try it say this account already in use as in bank account. I cannot remember the old email I used for the ebay account & neither can ebay as it is closed.

Most watch in 1080p http://www.youtube.com/watch?[....]dpioi0&feature=player_embedded . the difference with and without bravia is great.

What is the comparison between Google Nexus S and SE Arc CPU?
And which one is better and why?

Would really appreciate this

Posted by Bonovox
The Samsung uses a Hummingbird Processor which apparently is better for gaming but that is debatable

Posted by dibdin
Is there/will there be any cases that will fit the size of the Arc at all??

Posted by Bonovox
No doubt there will be but as with any new phone on the market they are not easily found at first

Posted by Tsepz_GP
If i'm not mistaken the GPU in the GalaxyS/Nexus S Hummingbird CPU (PowerVR SGX540 GPU) is more powerful than the Andreno205 GPU found in the Arc's CPU (Qualcomm MSM8255), the GalaxyS/Nexus S is apparently even capable of decoding 1080p video. Gaming on those Samsungs is stunning, very smooth even when there's alot to handle, it's almost as if the GPU still has more power left.

Posted by domipost
Wait till you tried gaming at the LG Optimus 2X Speed (or Moto Atrix and a lot of other phones soon, I guess)

No the Andreno is the more or just as powerful:

http://www.mobiletechworld.co[....]desire-hd-vs-samsung-galaxy-s/

I think you will have to wait and see the Arc review to know it's power but the 205 is a new design and with the new snapdragon is supposed to be pretty powerful, but the new PowerVR dual core thing is also coming out.
I think it will hold it's own easily bar when compared to the multi core chips.

As for selling your phone, if you use Ebay and Paypal then you have to pay them way too much IMO for the privilege. Mazuma is very good and reliable and very fast payment too.

Thanks for the correction Apolloa, that made for a good read.

Posted by Bonovox
There is quite a difference between the two with FPS

Posted by apolloa
I think it's going to get ridiculous and end up like PC's comparing GPU and CPU's. Quad core this, dual core that... And Intel are yet to enter this market fully but they will...

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Ive always been a fan of TI OMAP SoCs since the Nokia N93, im excited to see what they bring this year, wish SE used TI OMAP.

Yes best way is to use these sites, quick and fast.

I remember CEX offering me £80 for my Satio, while Fone Bank offered me £150

I'll be selling my x10 within the week to get an X8.

As your from the UK you might want to get the X8 free on O2, for £10 a month contract, you get a £50 high street voucher as well. My plan is sell the X10 for £170 (price will drop soon due to Arc), then keep my X8 till Mid March and sell it for £80 on the recycle website. So basically I'm making money for nothing as I already top-up £10 a month, and the £50 voucher is an added bonus.

Actually best I can find is £160

Do you have link for £170 please?

Posted by apolloa
I also wanted to mention the Arc's price. I alway's thought it would be able to undercut it's rivals a bit and if that Play.com price is right it has already, comparing to all the other top end handsets.
Expansys haven't put a price up yet but I bet it'll be around £510

EDIT: New video footage shot with Arc:

Se's price should be less than rivals seeing as se is a mid range phone manufactuer.

Posted by tranced
What else do you want them to do? Do you want Sagem to make the arc now?

Just like HTC then with it's crappy cameras and hardware lol.. HTC.. HT Who? Never heard of them...

Posted by Toney_Ericsson
How? Se are the ones bringing out last years hardware and 512mb RAM phones like the Arc all encased in its plastic crappy shell just for people like you when theres dual core and 1GB RAM phones coming from proper manufacturers and if you think Exmor-R means anything other than marketing you really are a mug.

Oh I'm sorry, I must have missed HTC's new dual core CPU and GPU phone at this years CES............... oh hang on they didn't launch one, ah right that's why..........
And yeap ,SE cameras PWN HTC crappy efforts added as after thoughts. HTC are also overpriced.

And as for the Exmoor R sensor hype, well it's a damn site better sounding then HTC's effort:

8 megapixels. Ultra-mega-amazing. 8 megapixel flash camera and the power of 4G allow you to create and share like never before.

http://www.htc.com/us/products/thunderbolt-verizon

Yeah, wow ULTRA MEGA camera haha, oh that sounds soooooo much better... hey at least it has 4G, which isn't even available in the UK yet hahaha...

@testers

I'd like to ask, is BestPic function will available to the Arc in retail unit?
I don't see in it any preview video yet!

Posted by tranced
The press release doesn't mention this anywhere. I guess best pic was part of the Cyber-shot range only.

Nope I knew that already I'm afraid. I'm way brighter then you too cause I don't waste my time flame baiting forums because I hate the manufactuer. I move on and get over it...

Back on topic.
Does anyone know the maximum memory card size the Arc supports? 32 or 64gb?

Posted by synn
Could someone do anything about all this "HTC this, HTC that" bullshit?
This is a Sony Ericsson rumors thread, not an HTC one.

I'd call you numb nuts but I'm pretty sure you don't have any

Thank you but I was looking for a detailed answer of why any of the CPU is better. What Google Nexus S hardware can do for Nexus S that SE Arc CPU cannot do for Arc. That's what I wanted to know

Appreciate

As mentioned earlier the Samsung Hummingbird processor is a wee bit better than the MSM 8255 CPU. Especially with regards to gaming and video performance. The hummingbird processor can decode 1080p files (Galaxy Tab which runs hummingbird can play 1080p files smoothly) whereas MSM8255 cannot do it (720p max)
No difference in day to day use, but if you put the CPU to maximum use, then hummingbird will perform slightly better than MSM8255.

Thank you.

So whatever applications or games that will work on Nexus S, 90% it will work on Arc too?

SE quiet f***ed it up with X10. Now it's hard to trust SE can deliver a very good device. Not that I hate SE but damn! it's too hard to believe that an SE phone can do just like other phones.

Hopefully Arc goes successful

To me, in terms of branding name... SE is better than HTC. I don't know why, but to me it seems that SE is like Mercedes and HTC is like toyota...

This is just based on name only... and it based on my feeling.

Is the exmor sensor is the same sensor used in Sony DLSR ? How about Sony DSLT ? does it use exmor sensor as well ?

SONY DSLRs use APS HD CMOS/APS-C sensors . Cybershot cameras use EXMOR R sensors

And they are camera sensors, not cellphone sensors. Night and day difference between camera and cellphone sensor even if they use the same EXMOR R technology.

thank you.

the reason I ask is because I like the SONY DSLT-A55. The ISO noise is very small even at ISO 6400 !

Posted by synn
APS-C is not the name of a sensor. It's a sensor SIZE.
EXMOR is the name Sony gives to the sensors they manufacture. It's just a brandname. They highlight the backlit type ones with the "Exmor-R" name.

Posted by Toney_Ericsson
Exmor-R is rubbish in Cybershots the photos in low light still have loads of noise.

Posted by dibdin
So who has decided they are definitely going to buy one of these beauty's when they become available??

For me its beteeen the Arc and the LG Optimus black, with the Arc being a nose in.front.

@Toney
I bet you get off pissing off SE fanboys like me huh? C'mon, give us a break, just because you hate SE now, it doesn't mean we have to share your opinion. Have your say, no worries but don't be such an antagonistic troll

Posted by Dups!
The X10 thread had sealover and now the Arc thread has Toney_Ericsson lol.

I wonder who will try their best to ruin the Arc successor's thread.

We get it, you don't like SE, please let those who like SE contribute positively in this thread and not drag HTC in it. It's not like there isn't an HTC section here on Esato.

I am probably going to get one, as at the moment it is the most aesthetically pleasing phone other than the iPhone4. However, I am reserving judgement till after MWC 2011 in a few weeks.

And furthermore, I want to see some real pictures of the Hallon! I mean, it has the same stats, but if it´s really 200.- cheaper it should be worth a second look.
Apart from that Im willing to jump on the SE train again after quite a long time with the IPhone
