Has anyone experienced when you take photo with Arc in some indoor conditons, if you select to touch the screen to take picture that sometimes it won't take the picture when you touch the screen. Not sure why that sometimes it won't recognise the touch?

If ur looking for alternative matt battery cover then they can straight away go for this. I bought and using it. The quality is simply superb.

I've got a really annoying issue regarding mobile internet. When I'm connected sometimes the internet won't work even though everything says it should, turning data on and off makes no difference the only way to fix it is to turn the phone on and off, could this be software related? I hope to got its not hardware anyone else having this issue?

Thanks

is it due to poor lighting? But camera would work if I press the camera button instead.

Maybe you play so bad so these angry birds becomes extremely angry from pigs and you so they decided to nuke the game and the phone.. and sadly.. it's your phone

just kidding.. but try to uninstall ten reinstall the game.. if nothing changed,, a reset to the phone might help...

On my Arc I have noticed some faint horizontal lines that appear and then disappear and then appear again. Could this be because I may have dropped the phone previously and this is the result?? Has anyone else experienced this and if so what can be done? I had a similar problem with a Nokia N95 that I had, and replaced it with a new screen but the problem still occurred.

Well probably dropping it is the reason.

Ok so once I exit Angry Birds by Home button not the Arrow one, all is fine.

There's apparently a new update for Xperia Arc? Anyone got it? What's new?

Update!

08-01-2011
New software available for your Xperia™ smartphone

Update your software to benefit from:

xLoud™ – boosts your music when played through the speaker
Stereo recording – shoot video with high-quality stereo sound
Digital home – enjoy entertainment content stored in your phone on DLNA certified media devices
New themes and Landscape mode for your home screen

To upgrade, search for new software in your phone or use PC Companion .

Note: The availability of new software is market and operator dependent.

No upgrade for me yet.

Me neither. Though I was alerted of a software update yesterday morning.

Posted by fjcarlsson
I think it's through SEUS only, not over the air. Will try later today

Edit. Must be coming out soon as it is quoted on Sonyericsson's UK page?!?

if the update is available to ur region then u can update using SEUS or OTA.
it will wipe the data if u select reset data.
so far no issues.. working pretty smooth...

Hi anyone having trouble with the Proximity sensor as my friends arc is playing up?

Most of the time the screen will not blank out during or recieving a call and when the screen does blank he has to remove the battery and restart. He has little or no apps installed and NO app managers

any sugestions??

Failing that, is there an app that will disable the sensor completly so the screen stays on?

Thanks

Posted by adsada
Anyone in the UK got the update? using SEUS and OTA both say no new updates... have tried the pc companion, but it says that it keeps coming up with cannot connect message??

Posted by idumbakumar
Sorry i flashed through flash tool so didn't get a chance. And i dont bother wiping the data as I've back ups.

That's great. But is the "Type a text to search or share" widget from Xperia Pro's official images ( http://www.hitechreview.com/i[....]sony-ericsson-xperia-pro_7.jpg ) somewhere in the crowd?

Soon one month with my Arc. Fast and smooth, but not always. It is a bit laggy sometimes. It can freeze and lagg when sliding between the home screenes. Also it can freeze when sliding up the screen lock. Otherwise it is good. Are there some apps that I should be aware of that is known to slow down the phone?

Cheers,

Better go with Amazon.com

wow ... doministry is now the poster boy for SE Android phones. How things changed from Windows Mobile to Android for him.

Good to see Android working out for SE and for doministry as it does for so many.

I'm curious, does anyone here using the Arc worry about their security or data? Have you received ads from Google?

Well WM6.5 is dead and burried so one had to decide the next step.
Xperia X2 was such a flop, shame.

Than I tried using WP7 for few months. Brilliant OS but so many limitations!

So I had no choice, again, when two OSes I liked, were gone (WM, Symbian UIQ).

I hope Android will stay for longer!

BTW Arc is really surprising me with the stability and quality.

coming from X10 user, Arc is sooo much better. The phone definitely super fast and smooth. I haven't noticed any lag so far. Perhaps maybe when something is running behind, the phone lag a very tiny bit about 1 sec. Other than that... super smooth.

btw, I'm not using any customize ROM and I haven't rooted my phone as I couldn't find the need for that.

Posted by dibdin
I am another satisfied user of the Arc....no lag issues for me to speak of. This phone does everything I want it to do with ease. It has been a joy using this phone for the last 4 months. I thought the Desire was going to be a hard act to follow, but the Arc is sooo much better.

Posted by adsada
yeah I love my arc, but regarding lag, mostly it's flawless but sometimes when listening to music and doing other stuff, sometimes the music will skip, sometimes for a while and it can get really annoying, especially embarrassing when you're showing off some photos to your mates on the TV and the music skips while loading them.

Still waiting for this update btw, don't think it actually exists

Posted by rickster2kuk
The only real lag I experience is either sometimes when going into messaging, or call log.

I also sometimes find it can be pretty slow reversing out of things (i.e. the back button) apart from that it's very snappy.

Does your Arc have cracks too?

lots of people already complaining Cracks on the sensor and beside the back key

Posted by dibdin
I had a hair-line crack where the sensor is, but not where the back key is placed. Though only recently I have had the housing replaced on my Arc, and it feels more solid than before with no creaking whatsoever.

These Cracks are annoying and can cause phone durability, on this 1st picture you can see that the crack is not only in the plastic area, but also in scratch the metal plate

This is Happening to all Xperia Arc, after 1~2months of use, cracks will appear, and it is very common to midnight blue, some say that it was caused by the heat on that area everytime you charge or play games and wifi/browsing, and some say that it was cause by pressing the power button every now and then.

although it is now under warranty, SE said that it will be replaced with same material for now, and they might change it. I even read that someone already replaced it's front cover, but after a weeks used cracks appear again, this cannot continue like this, they really need to change the material used in that front cover

Have you informed Sony Ericsson of the cracks on your phone?

I was thinking of buying an ARC, because of availability, and can't wait for Neo but these problem is keeping me away to buy an ARC

btw those are collective screenshots from different users

I still think these cracks are caused by aggressive handling (squeezing) of the Arc. A previous quantitative - but not fully exhaustive post showed more users not having these cracks. I'm hoping the one I trade for tomorrow for my iPhone 4 doesn't have these issues. It'll be my second try at Android - the first gen Galaxy was such a horrible experience it's incredible screen was like putting makeup on a pig!

Are there any apps that. Cannot/do not run on the Arc?! I worry due to the qHD displays and dual core CPU Android phones becoming so common. How soon will SE launch the Arc upgrade?
