Can anyone please tell me as to hows the sound quality via headphones?

Its very good it give a lot of detail and its very balanced through out the range. If i compare that to the Desire HD I had using the same tracks, the DHD lacked mid and high range tones.

Just for reference though I am not using the headphones that came with the handset.

You can extract the smart dialling widget from the minis if you need or want it.

I am out taking more nice photos. Be back later. I was in Carphone store where they had a dedicated stand for Xperia models. All of them were working ones including silver Arc surprisingly the Neo which did not feel as nice as the Arc. And the Play which I took a picture of will upload later on.

Really?? Neo? Is it already released there?
How about the size of Neo compared to Arc? Is it significant due to smaller screen size?

Posted by AndyD777
I have just noticed the email client in 2.3 is much better than that of versions gone past. It allows previews much like a desktop experienced.

I am going to be experimenting with the camera today, so ill try and get some pictures posted up later.

Posted by Bonovox
No Neo is not out yet but on this stand in Carphone store had provided a working one for them. I was playing with it & the alarm went off Anyway, yes it felt cheaper & looked cheaper. Screen not as nice either.

If someone has both Arc and X10, then do the photo comparison test. X10 results seem so much more pleasant to me. Maybe X10 doesn't use sony sensor and it;s just drivers fault? Wake up, Arc's camera istn;t good, heavy chroma noise even at iso 80. But do some test, if anybody owns both. I've bad feeling about this. The crops screm K850i quality to me:( I'm writing this because SE had some very good cameraphones in the past and it was one of its stronges assets. we, as brand fans, must criticize them if they launch half baked products, just for the company to regain its strength.

My argument will stand up. The Arc has a very sharp decent camera with also better specs & video than x10. Also it is faster than any camera phone on the market in terms of shutter speed & I have had many. The menus in the camera are better & easier & so is the flash. Also the phones software, features & overall performance is a big leap over the x10. Anyone who says it is a crap phone but has not used the phone is just plain daft. I would not say the Desire HD is rubbish before I brought it. I did buy it & wished I never. Anyway, the Arcoholics on here know better. A few people say,oh it looks the same as the x10 & has nothing new over the x10. Crap. Yeah,it looks a little similar but see it in the flesh & you will see it is not. Also it as I said new features & better performance. As for phones looking all the same take a look in the mirror HTC fans All plain brown ugly devices that look the bloody same. I am not after a flame war I am mearly stating my point of what I know to be true of the Arc. I am entitled to my opinion & so is everyone else. You know who you are Toney

@Bonovox

Very nice pictures...

I am really impressed with the Arc... The battery is so much better then the Galaxy S and HTC Desire HD

Posted by Bonovox
Galaxy S had very poor battery & terrible reception too. As for the Desire HD It's a big brown lump. Those photos were around Bournville Birmingham near where I live by Cadbury's chocolate factory

I'm guessing the phone will come with DHL or someone, that's why it's not here today!

Posted by SE-Naz
@Bonovox

Agree with you... though found the reception to be fine on it...

HD... was not good within 7 hours of hardly any use... I was hoping that there was a wall socket on the street...

Since 10am... Few messages and a couple of calls and playing around and I am on still on 93%... Amazing or what... Galaxy S would be on 60% approx and HD around 55% (which is totally rubbish)

Not had any slow downs on the phone at all too... So great

Posted by Bonovox
Well, when I ordered mine with they sent it next day via Parcel Force & it was here @ 8:30am I was still in me night gear @SE-Naz yes no slow downs crashing restarts nothing & it is the smoothest Android I have used. A far cry from the laggy X10. I hated the Desire HD battery. I used to charge it up @ night. Wake up unplug it with not much running as I normally don't. Go have a shower come back up to get dressed & without any usage the battery had dropped by 15% Shit!!

With the longevity of contracts these days, do you guys think that Arc could be used for 2 years without it getting boring?

@Bono

Posted by unknown_x

Posted by Bonovox
Well, yes but the EU is enforcing soon the networks to give customers back the choice of shorter 12 months again. Anyway,my upgrade will be due with my T Mobile contract in January next year. This phone the Arc is something I been looking for in a long time. And I am pleased to say it is a And yes despite what my past has been like changing phones alot I think I shall stay with this one!! Famous words But I cannot keep affording to do so anyway.

Posted by Bonovox

I have experienced the same thing. I think wifi is to blame. I turned it off and now i don't have any pause when using BT headset.

SO-01C (Arc) was the highest selling handset in Japan during March, despite being released as late as March 24th.

Not really surprising given how popular SO-01B (X10) was. I wonder for how long it's going to remain there. =p

whats the arc like for indoor shots with the flash, anywhere near a xenon, could someone post some pics please?

Posted by dibdin
Have some of you kept the on screen protector?
I have found it to be okay and will keep it on for a bit longer.

Posted by Bonovox
Yeah mine is still on for as long as it stays scuff free.

Posted by SE-Naz
I will keep mine on until it shows wear on it...

Posted by Bonovox
I look after my handsets never a mark on them. Need to put a lanyard on the strap type thing so I do not drop it especially whilst taking photos. Some little shit head hoody kid today seen me holding my Arc. I quickly put it in my pocket and said what you looking at. Hate little shit head hoodies who go round thinking their hard knocks. I have had phones stolen before but am insured now and extra careful.

Posted by Lunion
Have any of you guys installed Firefox on to your Arc? I tried it on my X8 but it wasn't having any of it!

Posted by Bonovox
The x8 is a bit limited though. Never used Firefox except on pc what is it like??

Posted by SE-Naz
Happy with the stock browser...

I have both(well had, my GF got my x10 now) and i can tell you that there is a difference even in daylight, but, to compare, if you have the x10, take a photo with flash on total darkness, and see if you can manage this kind of detail and focus:
No flash:

Flash

I tried it when i bought the x10 and it was impossible, even with Vignette "autoflash" everything was out of focus, very dark and full of noise.

You can also try to take a photo while driving in the afternoon, my car is a coupe and it's a hard ride, even with that, there is no blur on the main target:

believe me, when you have it you notice two things about the camera:

-It makes photos with better contrast, detail, colors and shadows look much better(with the x10 they looked very dark loosing a lot of details)

-It's the fastests camera phone i've had, taking a photo is super fast, no delay, no lag, no blur at night, you don't need super steady hands to take a pic at night.

Not sure what Firefox is like on a mobile as my X8 wouldn't run it.

I just wanted to give it a try out. I hope it works on the Arc!

Posted by Bonovox
It should work on the Arc. I will give it a shot and report back later on.

Posted by Lunion
Thanks Bono!

Posted by Bonovox
Firefox= crap for Android. Slow and does not render some images or pages properly. Also has poor image compression. And it slowed the Arc down. Terrible stick to stock or Opera

Is texting easier on the Arc than on the X10? Is the on screen keyboard any bigger?

Posted by SE-Naz
I find using the keyboard good... no issues...

Never owned an X10, so I can't say but I am finding it easy to type on the stock keyboard.

Posted by Bonovox
Yes its the same keyboard which is a joy to use. Except on Arc you got more screen real estate.

Posted by Bonovox
Who was it who wanted to know about a flash shot?? Here is one. Davidsic has uploaded some lovely shots in Arc photo thread

Same as other SE phones, disable Image stabilizer and your images will look sharper. Just to share.

Posted by mriley
The Arc would be so much more appealing if it had a better build, metal instead of glossy plastic and so on

Posted by tyko
Strange enough, there are less options available for stills than videos. For instance, you cant choose motive or image stabilization in photo mode but for videos you can. Or am I missing something here?

Have you actually seen one in the flesh?? If not I suggest you do, even though its of plastic build, its still of good quality. Has a real premium feel about it.

Dont knock it till you try it.
