Contact cleaner on the screen

Hello,

I finally solved the problem with the poor reception on my c510, I've opened up the phone and cleaned everything and it works like a charm.

But I spilled too much of the contact cleaner on the screen and I see funny traces on it, will it go away with time? Or how can I solve this problem?

awww... such liquids, chemicals as they are, are not recommended for general cleaning purposes!

i think you have left out the liquid for quite a long time in the screen before wiping it up, thus, leaving "burned" marks in there. will it go away with time? if the marks were that deep, i don't think so. in your situation, i will personally try to initially apply an "not-so" abrasive solution just to wipe off those marks and top off with a cleaning agent. in my experience waxing my humble scooter whenever it gets really grimy already, i initially wash her up with soap and water using a real mean scrub-brush, dry her, apply rubbing compound to restore the real color of her panels and end with a shiny waxing job! i also do this on my two helmets at least twice a year!

of course, that screen is no scooter or helmet!

freedelta, try to apply a bit of a rubbing compound by slowly and patiently and lightly (as you can get) scrubbing that screen. use a clean non-abrasive cloth for this application. it will get hazy in no time, which tells you that the compound is working (i hope). now you can get that haze off by waxing the said screen. i only use 3M by the way. it may not clear those marks the first time, so be patient.

i just hope this helps as i can see that your post is already days old. hope some other smart esatonians also contribute.

It depends where those stains are. If they're just on the surface of the screen, then there's a big chance that they will just get wiped away in time. But opening up your phone and spraying liquid cleaner, may get some of it between the screen layers and into the actual "liquid" in the liquid crystal display sandwich. If the contact cleaner came into contact with the internals of the LCD, then the stains are permanent. Hard to say without actually seeing a pic of the stains on the screen though.

Well, I see these stains as some kind of watermarks with the form or circuits board, I'll try to upload a pic tonight,
thank you
