La empresa O2 Secure Wireless, Inc., proveedor emergente de telecomunicaciones, se prepara para lanzar un servicio de telefonía celular de bajo costo para consumidores locales en el segundo semestre de 2011 en República Dominicana.
La inversión será de US$100 millones en los próximos cinco años. La inversión responde a una investigación de que arrojó resultados determinantes acerca de la fuerte demanda en el mercado de la telefonía celular en República Dominicana.
O2 Secure Wireless ofrece servicio en Estados Unidos y el Caribe. Bajo su más reciente unión con Earthcom Service Inc., la compañía expandirá sus servicios a República Dominicana a través de su subsidiaria, Earthcom Service C Por A, ofreciendo servicios de telefonía celular a una tasa fija pre-pagada a todos sus clientes.
El nuevo servicio de telefonía celular presentará una variedad de planes de bajo costo que se acoplará a todo los estilos de vida y presupuestos.
“Dedicamos un buen tiempo a la realización de esta investigación y obtuvimos resultados sorprendentes como la necesidad que tiene el país de un servicio ilimitado y de bajo costo, situación que ningún proveedor ofrece actualmente,” explicó Val Kazia, presidente y socio operador de Earthcom Service Inc., compañía hermana de O2 Wireless.
Earthcom Service será la compañía encargada de presentar este nuevo servicio. República Dominicana es un país con más de nueve millones de habitantes, y escasamente existen 994,000 líneas fijas.
Los resultados de la investigación también concluyeron que en República Dominicana existen 8.8 millones de teléfonos celulares.
Esto presenta una extraordinaria oportunidad para que la compañía pueda presentar un servicio cuyas características son llamadas ilimitadas y planes pre-pagados.

K bueno que tendremos mas opciones, bueno viva ya sabes k tienes menos de seis meses para dar mas cobertura y asegurar tus clientes y sacar mas planes y servicios, aunque tienen el doble de cobertura k le dejo centennial se han dormido y tan muy atras en cobertura.

Earthcom Service Inc. cuenta ya con la aprobación de la licencia de frecuencias en la República Dominicana. Una vez pagados los costos de la licencia, la compañía podrá asegurar las frecuencias de 800MHz, lo mismo que licencias para televisión por cable, el cual tendrá una cobertura del 80% de la población. Actualmente se abre la oportunidad para que inversionistas puedan apoyar las iniciativas preliminares que incluye el pago de los costos de la licencia, construcción de torres de transmisión y el desarrollo de tiendas, junto a otros esfuerzos. Con estos fondos ya adquiridos, la compañía espera poder lanzar el nuevo servicio de telefonía celular de bajo costo a mediados del año 2011.

The new head office will be located in the National District.
