I have to agree... Remember what happened with the Roman Empire in the fifth century? It was destroyed by a bunch of dumbasses.

Here’s what Sony Ericsson Mobile BRAVIA Engine really does [REVIEW]

If you have been keeping track you would know that the recent batch of high-end Xperia smartphones pack some of the best LCD displays we have seen. Their Reality displays might lack a bit in viewing angles, but their image quality is downright splendid, and as the company would gladly tell anyone, their new Mobile BRAVIA Engine certainly plays a big part in delivering it.

Editorial: This short technology review is entirely based on the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray however we’ve managed to confirm the same results on the Xperia Arc as well.

The good news is the BRAVIA Engine does everything that Sony Ericsson promises it will do. It enhances sharpness, increases contrast and saturation and tries to tackle digital noise. Of course, that only works with photos and videos, so you shouldn’t be looking for its effect elsewhere.

Much better SUPER AMOLED PLUS except power consumption on white screen. Bravia engine is just a marketing trick also like Exmor sensor that give us awful photo quality.
I think these days consumers are smart enough to see a difference between marketing tricks and real facts in electronics.

Guess what? BRAVIA Engine is just a software boost. Means it can be done on ALL phones. I have it on my x10, that doesn't have so called Reality display And it works

Luster White Xperia arc spotted (again)

It has been a while since we’ve heard any rumours about a white version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc. However, a few photos have emerged from an Xperia ray launch conference in Asia where somebody was caressing this white beauty.

The model was glossy white which fits in with the white versions of other handsets like the Xperia X10, Xperia PLAY and upcoming Xperia ray. We don’t know when this will release (it may even be the Sony Ericsson LT18i i.e. the rumoured 1.4GHz Xperia arc refresh), however we’ll keep you posted. You can see a few larger pictures after the break.

Wow! That's what I call "a really ugly phone"...

Posted by king-james
White looks much better than the ugly old silver! Black & White best main colours! Silver is out!

Posted by Ricky D
reminds me of the old K610i in white, one of the most reliable phones I've had and with a not bad camera too.

SEMC reckon an announcement is coming soon.

Sony Ericsson SK19i unearthed – Xperia ray pro in development?

It may hard to believe but yet another new Sony Ericsson model number has been discovered via a benchmark. The AnTuTu Benchmark registered a ‘SK19i’ handset, a model number we’ve not come across so far. What we can tell from the benchmark is that the handset runs on Android 2.3.3 and has a 1GHz processor, very much in line with the current Xperia line-up.

We would guess that this handset has a c3-inch display and sits slightly above the mini family. In fact if you look at the Xperia ray model number (ST18i) and compare it to the Xperia mini (ST15i) and Xperia mini pro (SK17i) – we can make a sensible guess that the SK19i is a possible keyboard variant of the Xperia ray.

If true, it would be a bit unusual given that one of the virtues of the Xperia ray is its thin aluminium chassis. However, the SK19i could be altogether a different handset. We’ll keep you posted with further developments.

Successor to x8?

Walkman Android mid-range smartphone, previously known as WT19

Posted by FMW300
Well I guess I may settle for this, as I've been clamouring for a walkman droid for so long. Thank God it has a screen larger than 3", stereo speakers plus a camera button! The only thing is that I would have liked a higher res screen, but this might very well be my next phone [I doubt another, higher-spec walkman is coming anytime soon!]

Posted by Legen
Is it seriously called the "live with walkman"?

Posted by goldenface
Does anyone know what the codename for the Sony Ericsson Live is? Thanks.

Posted by Dups!
I hope and pray (and I mean that literally) that this strategy of flooding the market with all these phones pays off. I also hope that they can manage to sustain the supply.

Sony Ericsson to expand Walkman, Xperia phones.

What kind of innovation in devices, particularly from Sony Ericsson, can mobile users look forward to in the coming months?
-Looking closely at some industry trends we understand that consumers, especially the youth, like to indulge in gadgets that give them an immersive experience on-the-go.
In the coming months we plan to expand our flagship range of Walkman and Xperia phones. While the Xperia range will continue to extend the imaging and gaming experiences, we will have new phones for people with active lifestyles. For those who like to stay fit the phone will be pre-loaded with sports apps that enable consumers to easily track their fitness. On the other hand, Walkman will be designed to provide consumers with great music.

In an email interaction with Sandeep Budki of 'The Mobile Indian', Prasun Kumar, head of marketing at Sony Ericsson, India, shared his thoughts on what Indian consumers can expect form the company in the coming months.

Expanding the imaging and gaming? I wonder what that means - more gaming gadgets? A bolt on usb gaming joypad? The long awaited Android with Xenon? Lets hope so.

^One awesome smartphone but it really does sound too good to be true, it lists videoDJ and musicDJ? they aren't found in SE's android phones?

And the specs seem like someone trying too hard and using every conceivable spec short pf a coffee maker. IRDA at the end seem like an overkill.

Posted by Xajel
fake...

We didn't enter the quad core era for Tablets yet, how to start with smartphone ? + that GPU is a monster ( 2 times the one in iPad 2 which is now the fastest mobile device in terms of 3D )

that combination of QuadCore CPU + SGX543 MP4 will easly eats a tablet battery if made using current 40nm tech. so we have to wait for 28nm ( which is supposed to be later this year and mass availability next year )...

With that spec. in mind, you will have to wait to at least mid 2012 and the device will be huge just to have big enough battery for it !! not to mention the big front cam, I think it will be bigger than Xperia Neo already big one !!

Posted by motvikt
Lol super fake Hope SE will use whitemagic screens in the future though

Posted by yuunanase
Isn't that the CPU that is supposed to be in the PSVita due this year?

Neverheless, it is definately a fake. The word Volvo is too long, and as adsada pointed out, PhotoDJ etc. are outdated software from A2 phones.

Posted by goldenface
Nice try Since when has the final spec sheet ever been leaked. If that was the real spec sheet it would mean the phone has already been announced.

videoDJ was some video app in SE's dumbphones, musicDJ was a ringtone arranger also in SE's dumbphones.

Posted by Alihosny
too good to be true especially for SE , if it were samsung or HTC i would definitely believe it but not SE .

Posted by Legen
1080x720 qHD? And the internal memory, since when does sonyericsson include more than 512mb(i know!)? Fake. Its a wish list

Posted by luwi
doesn't have balls to do that! FAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!

Posted by motvikt
SE actually has a great strategy. Use the same hardware platform in all devices to be able to upgrade them fast and reduce development time. The bad thing is that all devices are equally good or bad with this strategy, in this case mid-end.

So next year they are probably adding a dual core platform to the mix, so maybe all devices will have dual core next year? Really hopes so, and it makes sense. I think they should keep this strategy, its awesome in mid/low-end (just look at the minis, they totally own mid-end, and so will the new "live") and add a high-end strategy with maybe only one device to keep it simple. One device with super specs. Also try to release it when new hardware becomes available instead of having fixed release dates. For example release a device when krait becomes available, HTC miost certainly will

Posted by domipost
Besides, they would get problems with a certain car manufacturer

Posted by king-james
Hahahaha who the hell needs a 5MP Frontcam?

Of course it is a wish phone from someone... In 2013 perhaps possible.
