except that all these phones are already available while duo is still not even an announcement.

Posted by Karun
Which is why Duo needs to make an impression. if its just 1 Ghz, then its dead even before launch. If the rumours about 1.4 ghz, 12 mp with xenon flash etc are true, then it's worth it, provided they manage to get it to the market soon

The Nova A9540 from ST-ERICSSON

built in 32nm, uses a dual-core Cortex-A9 running at up to 1.8 GHz and delivers graphics performance up to four times that of the U8500 and is sampling H2 2011.

WOW 32nm

Posted by ^^HAMID^^
So what?
What's happening to Nova A9540 ? Is it going to be used by SE?

Posted by wario
i keep reading on this forum that sony ericsson will be using ST-Ericsson chips in their forthcoming phones but has there been any official announcement?

every phone SE has announced this year uses snapdragon. do we have any kind of proof that this will change in the future?

Without any official announcement from SE, it's hard to imagine them using ST-Ericsson chips, especially since they already have an agreement with Qualcomm.
It'll be hard to see them using other chips for the 3 years they've signed it for, unless it's not an exclusive agreement.

i meant android phones which these don't seem to be. i'll be more specific next time.

qualcomm it is for the forseeable future. really hoping their upcoming dual-core is the 28nm krait variety but doesn't seem likely with an end of the year release.

Thank you BLACK

So....whats that s'posed to be? Ad material or just a fans artwork?

Posted by back2you
^^

just a fans artwork

Posted by tranced
Artwork. I see no logo.

Posted by Karun
Artwork. But pretty neat.

Let's hope this one is a killer device, which trumps competition, both in specs as well as release to market.

Posted by Legen
So not relevant for rumour thread right? Maybe under "concepts". Or even "artwork/doodling"

is platform application will get under-clocked from original 1.8Ghz down to 1.4Ghz?

32nm is real fine, because I believe that 28nm chipset will come after H1 2012.

I hope it come true! right all the way.

The "U" on the Duo name is intriguing

Looks like a Xperia NEO on the bottom and ARC on the Top.

I can't believe anyone is giving that a second thought. It is blatantly fake and pretty poorly photoshopped. You guys need to adjust your screens...

Agreed, this looks like a fake to me too.

The give away to me is the content on the screen is nothing new. SE tend to show a new set of widgets or layout according to what changes they've made to the software in that particular release. I don't see anything here.

The shapes are also obvious borrowings from other releases, there are definitely parts of neo and arc in here and SE wouldn't make the top corners of the screen round and the bottom corners sharp. It just doesn't make sense for balance.

There may be points to take from this and the previous 'leak' though. We don't know if the mockups have been made with any sort of 2nd or 3rd hand insider tips. For example the accent on DUO could be a tip off even if the rest is misleading.

This is old news. Nexus was the original name of their UX platform (eg. Timescape / Mediascape etc). See http://www.xperiax10.net/2009[....]r-android-symbian-development/ .

They announced this before the Nexus phones came out and dropped it shortly afterwards - http://www.xperiax10.net/2010[....]nexus-name-for-its-android-ui/

Bizare, however, the date on the above document.

Qualcomm Snapdragon roadmap leaks, Krait slithering on the scene soon

The internal PDF document is principally about the company’s LTE chipsets and technology but there’s also so new info about the upcoming Krait based 28nm dual-core SoCs that will start shipping in less that 6 months.

First we have the MSM8960 is expected to start shipping in Q4 2011. The specifications are the following:

• Dual 1.5-1.7 GHz Krait/ L2 1MB
• 2x500MHz LPDDR2
• LTE FDD/TDD cat3(8960); DC-HSPA(8270)
21HSPA+(8260A)
TD-SCDMA (8960, 8260A)
• 1080p HD Video@30fps; 3D 20Mpix
• Adreno 225 3D/2D 125M tri./sec (DX9.3)

As you can see the CPU’s core will be clocked between 1.5 and 1.7 GHZ and the SOC will feature an Adreno 225 GPU which supports the DirectX 9.3 feature set (DX9 + ShaderModel 3).
