Finally, we've got themes too. One of the things, which I've hated about SE android phones was the lack of themes. Now we only need a good camera with xenon flash, and a good media/file manager, for a reasonable price (for me it would be definetly below 400 euro)...
I hope we will get a good themes creator too, not just the preinstalled themes, this was always a strenght of SE.

Well he actually says No 1 Android player, could that be interpreted as something else?

"Nordberg: Yes, in the world. Last year, in nine months, we took 14 percent market share in Android worldwide. And we only had four devices. It could have been better. But I'd say that's not a bad start. We are definitely the No. 1 Android player in Western Europe. But we can't be No. 1 in the world without the U.S. We need to get into the U.S. market. And we think we need 25 percent of the market to be No. 1 in the world. We are already No. 1 in Japan and Sweden."

Maybe he means that in his opinion the phones are definitely the best?

Considering what "ordinary" people look for(for most that is design and screen size) when they buy a phone, i think SE has managed quite well this time around. Sure, they lack a smaller alternative but that is on its way. About the hardware part, maybe Bert knows that a phone with a sleek design, good screen and very good camera at a decent price sells more than a dual-core device that still lacks software support. Have it ever occured to all of you who trash the hardware that for the common person, it's not that important? And the LTE/4G thing, here in Sweden it's not that widely supported yet and were in the forefront. So why rush?

I think SE is on a streak here, I bet dual-core is well on the way and will hit the market when the market is ready.

2011 android phone all the available SE are 2-3 times to ensure that software version update.
That is all the android will ensure that at least upgrade to “Ice cream” ANDROID 4.0。。。

Is it just me who thinks that Sony ericsson is just joking when they said that they're aiming to be the number one android manufacturer because I don't see that they will. Both Samsung and Lg and even motorola are flooding the market with entry-level android phones like the Samsung Galaxy Ace or HTC wildfire S.
SE's new phones are all high-end(the neo is almost a high-end one) and for all I know, if they want more sales, they should also have available midrange phones; but sadly, no sign of any X8 upgrade. I was at least expecting of the mini successor on MWC but I got dissapointed that there was none. I think if they'll release their entry-level phones in Q3, it will be too late for them besides the old minis and x8 are too outdated and inferior compared to what others are offering for Q2. I don't think that it's too hard for them to make at least one midrange phone considering that they've made phones like the play and arc. Two entry-level phones will be enough or one. Just look at Lg optimus gt502. It doesn't have great features but it had provided what consumers needed which would explain its success.

HE is not joking. He is the leader of a company. Do you think his boss or the parent who own SE will like to hear a CEO telling the public " Oh well we will just want to make sure we don't lost money" " We only want to be no2" or other statement that don't see to keep the buzz and momentum?

everyone will try to be number1 but how they execute the method will determine whether it hit that target. As you see, SE did that before when they try to be the number one music phone maker and camera phone (dedicated) maker .... but they don't execute something that keep their momentum so eventually everything fall apart.

Its a SONY product not . There is a team from who are in the development but its mostly led by Sony's VAIO division.

The tablet is Sony for now... BUT... is considering tablets... again just considering

personally I think I'll wait for quad core tablets with Windows 8/Android dual boot... these will come in 2012.. but who knows as I'm already in love with ASUS EeePad Transformer
http://ces2011.asus.com/wp-co[....]2/ASUS_EeePadTransformer_2.jpg
http://ces2011.asus.com/wp-co[....]1/ASUS_EeePadTransformer_4.jpg

The tablet is a Tegra2 tablet with 512MB/1GB RAM depending on configuration, 10.1" 1280x800 IPS capacitive touch screen, 2 cameras ( 5MP back and 1.2 front ), and an 8 hours battery life... an optional dock that adds a full qwerty keyboard and additional 8 hours of battery life.. the only concern I have is the USB port.. I hope it have one with USB on-the-go feature...

/ Sony and Nokia are the three big mobile phone or computer maker that is yet to offer any tablet that use size of 7in and above (Nokia used to have some N series....)

Not surprise and Sony need to find a way to differentiate VAIO and SE own Tablet (If SE need to build one)
else they will ends up cannibalizing each other.

sometimes it is not surprise Sony is consistently finding a way to merge to synchronize mobile phone better into their DLNA world

SE doesnt need a tablet. As simple as that. The amount of RnD wasted in making a tablet isnt worth IMO.Sony should do.

+1! Sony Ericsson must focus on mobile phones not on tablet PC's. Sony should and they already did it with the Librie and the Reader.

Anyway, here is my opinion on the previous MWC:
1) Samsung Galaxy S II (the 1080p video recording is sure great)
2) LG's new line of Optimus phones (I like how they did with glasses-free 3D and the best implementation of dual-core)
3) Sony Ericsson's new line of XPERIA phones (design-wise, it's a goddess)

I don't find the HTC line interesting IMO.

I certainly hope so. It reminds me of a really old black & white TV set.

yup...even if it is TD_LTE which mean for China market...should not have something that totally not matching the nice design sense SE have all this time

well who knows...maybe it is just a concept to show the hardware and the look just totally ignore? which is quite logic because for those who know how a company work on a new platform...they normally use a reference board which have all the chipset mounted in position not fit for the compact design....they will need everything put on one side of the PCB so they can tweak/ jump some circuit etc. NOrmally stuff like our Play/ Neo/ Arc might all be having similar design approach which eventually when the platform get approved to continue...will start to get stack over each other to squeeze into smaller volume.

so no point to feel sad on this...but i just wonder when will SE show case their LTE concept or LTE end product. TD-LTE might still need time and it is not something we can get worldwide.

I hope they don't release that thing. What happened to the trend for slim, sleek emotion design?

Posted by KU
Is it a joke Great specs with the wrost design ever, even for a prototype.

Posted by jack00
guys don't be stupid
this thing has no design, because it doesn't need a design
its wasted time even to think about this device

LTE prototype technology needs space, just a year ago it took them a whole car full of equipment to have LTE running properly. things need to start somewhere

Well, We can always hope for an announcement at Cebit, 1-5 of march. It's just 9 days left people!
Successor to Satio, please!

Posted by Michalis3
I don't think will announce anything new before the launch of the new XPERIA family in 5-6 weeks. They will probably announce the new XPERIA minis in early May, so that they will be available in early summer. Regarding the minis, I would like to see 3-3,2 inch screen size versions of Neo and Pro instead of something similar to last year models. If they release such phones, they will manage to increase their market share. Look at last years XPERIA X10 mini and X10 mini pro and HTC 's Wildfire. They were amongst the most popular phone devices due to their "pocket friendly" size and low price. C'mon give us a Neo S (small).

According to the leaked pics of Mini 2 Pro, it's screen is 3" big

Posted by goldenface
The spypics we have seen of the new mini pro look nothing like the Neo and Pro, they look more like early protos.

Posted by motvikt
The mini was released late May right? Wonder how long before release they announce now, seems like they want to shorten the timespan considerably. But if they want to release it in May/June they need to announce it pretty soon.

I am excited about these phones. From what I understand X10 was developed in japan, and the minis in Sweden, and the minis turned out a lot better software wise imo. Makes me want to see how good they can make the new minis

That's why I hope that the new minis will retain the shape of Neo and Pro in smaller dimensions. Last years minis were good but they needed more curves in my opinion.

Posted by goldenface
I agree. If they can style them like the Neo and Pro they will have a good looking range for 2011.

I'd like to see what the S007 is capable of.

Won't happen soon, in 2011, or when? Won't SE manufacture a phone with xenon in 2011?

Posted by moogoo
considering the use of the ex-mor R sensor and an LED flash, do you really need a xenon flash? the sensor allows for great images in low light and LED flash supplements on top of that. I think for a mobile phone having a xenon flash at this point would be unnecessary and more of a battery drain than anything. In the end it is a phone after all. With the new sensor, imo, xenon flash is not needed.
